Chapter 41 - {There they are}

Amethyst stepped back, extremely scared and heart thorn. She doesn't want to leave Nathan alone but at the same time, she doesn't want to lose her dignity, Nathan would not support that.

She took few steps to the back then raises her neck.

'Kill him if you would bastard! But you can never have your way with me.' She yelled, turns back and ran out of the garden, her leg moving faster as ever.

Orests and his friends turn back and ran after her, but as round as her body is, she still manages to run as fast as ever. They tried catching up with her but before they could, she reached a corner and turned, away from their view. It took them several seconds before they reached where she turned and they turned too, running blindly through the dark street. But, what they didn't know is that amethyst was squatting beside the wall, watching them as they run to the wrong direction like a maniac. She stood up seconds after and ran back to the garden where Nathan lays, lifelessly.

**

Lucky's brow creases as soon as he saw Amethyst run back to the garden. She had already trick Orests and his friends away. She knelt beside Nathan and slaps his cheek severally, as if wanting to wake him up but his body wouldn't budge.

Nathan conditioned just worsened, Amethyst's intelligence is extra superb, and both of them keep turning his head. Such rare love.

For Nathan to show up at midnight of all time in the world, in bandage and on the night Gabriel tried raping Amethyst. It can't be a coincidence and surely it is not. Gabriel threatened to snatch amethyst, the exact thing that stimulate unconscious's Nathan's brain and he woke up from coma. Not that alone, he escaped from the hospital, just to come and save her and now, despite being in danger, his Amethyst came back to save him.

Their love truly is formidable.

**

'Nathan.' Amethyst called, raising Nathan's head. She removed her night robe and tore part of it before tying it on Nathan's head, at least to stop the bleeding.

She raised his upper body up, but it was weak and heavy, almost too much for her but she struggled hard to pull him to the back and lean his back on the wall, scared.

Is he going to bleed to death?

'Please open your eyes Nathan, I'm scared.' She said, tears rushing out of her eyes but he was still down and unconscious, not hearing any of her word.

Everywhere is dark, the dead of the night without anyone around to hear her voice. She could not see anything that is few steps away, no brightness. Why on earth would their school not have security light in case of emergencies like this?

She couldn't help but curse them badly right now.

Her hand search through her body as she look for her phone but she couldn't find it. Oh! She must have let it in the old classroom. She look all around Nathan's body too but his phone is nowhere to be found, except for the odd looking flashlight that he used when he escape from the hospital. She turns it on but the light blinked, not bright enough. It got affected when Nathan fell earlier.

She hit it with her hand severally, trying to make it bright and stable but instead, it stopped working which make her toss it away angrily. But all of a sudden, another flashlight fell from the sky.

Uh?!

She paused and looked at it, dumb folded for a while before walking up to pick it up. She turned it on and it on, bright than ever. She look up at the sky, wondering if it is god that sent the torchlight but just then, she saw lucky standing there, gazing at them. He threw another thing which she did not know what it is till it landed beside her foot and saw that it is a woolen hoodie. She picked it up and look down at her body only to realize that she is almost naked.

Her heart brimmed with thankfulness as she looked up at him but he shut his window and turn back while she quickly wore the hoodie. She walked up to Nathan and pulled him up, resting his heavy body on her weak body, staggering down the street with all her strength.

She needs to get him to the hospital as fast as possible, or else it would be too late to save his life.

**

After lots of walks, Amethyst paused, her heart racing. His heavy weight nearly ruining her bones. She slowing move his body off her shoulder to ease the ache but his heavy weight weighed her down, making him fall off her shoulder even before she could stop him.

'Uh, Nathan.' She called, her eyes scared as she turn to look at him but Nathan groaned in pain, his eyes parting slowly.

'Nathan.' She called again, her eyes full of curiosity as she knelt beside him, dropping the flashlight.

'Are you awake? Can you see me?' she asked, touching his cheek while Nathan blink his eye to clear his view.

'A… Amethyst.' He called while she lowered her body to hug him, a wide grin on her face but just then, rowdy chatters came and flashlight flash through the dark night. She quickly turns off her own flashlight so as to not call attention, her eyes scared.

'Stay silent for now Nathan; let us find a place to hide first.' She said while Nathan nodded. She helped him up, supporting his weak body with hers as they walk away from the main road to hide behind a giant tree. Few seconds later, Orests and his friends arrived, flashing light all around.

'That psycho is no more in the garden which means he is with her. He would surely slow down her movement so they are somewhere around here.' Adder said while Abigor nodded, the both having the look of "That exactly should be the truth or… could they have gone to the infirmary?."

'Shut your mouth and look for them. You must get me that girl tonight!' Orests barked while his two friends look away. He flash the light around once again but couldn't see anything. He turned around to leave but paused when he noticed something. Pointing the light back at the tree; a smirk escape his lips.

'there they are.'
