In the morning Evelyn awakens covered in a warm blanket on the grassy hill of the pond, she is awoken by the smell of campfire and some cooking sausages.
After getting her bearings from the passionate night last night.
She gets on her clothes from the other day and goes to investigate the smell of campfire and cooking meat to see Rex who is making her a couple of campfire roasted ham stakes from a wild pig, he hunted that morning she smiles gently sitting down next to him. Both reminiscing in silence of the passionate and loving night yesterday evening she's slowly leaning her head over onto his shoulder.
Rex slightly leans his head against hers.
After eating the nice breakfast Rex prepared, even though it was a bit under seasoned it's clear Rex hadn't used much seasoning in his life. When cooking before makes sense, he was kind of raised in the desert without much in the way of seasoning but still Evelyn ate every bite of it.
After they finished up breakfast the two of them walk back into town both holding hands arrived back at the church she lives and works at, after that, they part ways temporarily, he goes down to the local authority's department.
Introduces himself to the sheriff of the town who recognizes him straight away
a mysterious gruff voice greets him it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance sheriff wolf even out here, we've heard a lot about you and how good of a sheriff you are, Oh Where are my manners I am the Marshal of these parts Marshall Hunter Norse. Allow me to welcome you to our local department these are my officers frank Zack and Jamie.
Rex says with respect: well, it's good to meet you guys. Heard a lot of good things about the force here, I probably don't even need to introduce myself. Then, considering you guys already know of me.
But just to be polite, I'm Rex. Rex Wulf a temporary guest in this town of yours. I was hoping I could speak to a prisoner. You guys have in custody. He goes by the name of Raymond black?
The officers face turn grim as frank reports:
While he was completely healthy up Until the other night Zack found his cell door wide open with him dead in his cell. Earlier this morning, a gunshot wound in his skull. Murdered in his jail cell. Rex's face drops in a cold sweat. That was his only lead. He really needed to question him alive. But now that he's dead and buried, he has no leads to go on.
Rex Says his tone turning more serious: I see, Well I'm more than willing to assist you guys. In discovering. Who was the one who killed him? Do you have any clues or any possible suspects that it might be. He pulls the marshal aside for a minute.
It would also be wise to look up a timetable on when he was killed. Because the most important piece of evidence was his cell door was opened when he was murdered, I'm not mistaken. Those cell doors are tight locked under keys only guards have.
My advice Marshall keep a good eye around you. Especially with your officers who all have unaccounted for alibis, we may be looking at internal corruption.
Keep your eyes and ears on the lookout Marshall, you and I could very well be next.
Rex then leaves the department heading back to the church to spend another night with Evelyn, his head pounding with probabilities of who it was that killed his lead man on his ongoing investigation and how they could have known. He was all the way out here deep down though he already knows who killed his lead suspect. He plans to bring them to justice soon.
