"Don't worry," Fiona said through clenched teeth. "I'll talk to her again myself."
When a woman's angry, she always needs a friend to vent to—and in that moment, Fiona thought of Blair.
She snatched up her phone and poured her fury into WhatsApp, sending a long, emotional message filled with complaints about how shameless, hypocritical, and snobbish Cecilia was. Only after typing several paragraphs did she finally feel her anger cool a little.
Not long after, Blair replied.
Her tone was calm—too calm.
Even though she was secretly delighted by Fiona's outburst, her messages were polite, almost detached: Maybe you've misunderstood Cecilia. Don't let anger cloud your judgment.
That only made Fiona's temper flare hotter.
