Chapter 150: The Blooming End of Kumogakure
The transformation of Ren's Susanoo did not cease with the formation of the colossal skeleton. Before the petrified eyes of the Cloud shinobi, the spectral warrior continued to evolve. Thick cords of chakra-muscle snaked over the bones, weaving a tapestry of immense power, followed by a shell of gleaming, azure armor that encased the form. This was no longer a partial manifestation; it was the true, complete form of the Susanoo, a legendary power that now stood as an indomitable titan amidst the smoke and ruin of Kumogakure.
Though the summoning of such a entity would have drained any other shinobi, Ren's chakra reserves, vast and rapidly regenerating, were already refilled. The oppressive aura emanating from the Susanoo was a physical weight, silencing the desperate cries of the Cloud-nin, replacing their rage with a cold, gut-wrenching terror.
"Heh. The boss isn't playing around anymore," Suigetsu commented from his perch on the Nine-Tails' head, a sharp grin on his face. He nudged Jugo, who stood stoically beside him. "This is going to be a massacre."
"Ren's patience has ended," Jugo replied, his voice a low rumble. "Their defiance has only sealed their fate."
From within the protected core of his creation, Ren's voice echoed, distorted and divine. "You cling to your defiance like a child to a broken toy. Allow me to show you the futility of it all."
With a mere thought, the Susanoo raised its right arm. The very air shimmered and coalesced, forging a gigantic sword of pure chakra. But this was no ordinary blade. As it solidified, seething black flames erupted along its edge, licking hungrily at the air—Amaterasu, the ultimate fire style, a blaze that would never cease until its target was utterly consumed.
**"Do not let those flames touch you!"** a Cloud ANBU captain screamed, his voice raw with trauma. He had witnessed the Fourth Raikage's sacrifice firsthand. **"It is Amaterasu! It cannot be extinguished! Remember the Raikage's arm!"**
Ren offered a contemptuous smirk. "A timely warning. A pointless one, but timely nonetheless."
The Susanoo's blade descended. It was not a technique of finesse, but an executioner's swing. The black sword carved a burning canyon into the earth where a platoon of Cloud-nin had stood. Stone vaporized and earth turned to glass. Those caught in the direct path were erased from existence. Others, only grazed by the inferno, became living torches. Their horrific shrieks cut through the battlefield as they beat at the black flames that only spread with their efforts. A comrade rushing to help found the curse leaping to his own hands, a chain reaction of agonizing death.
As the Cloud forces reeled from the cataclysm, the Nine-Tails found its opening. Freed from the relentless assault, the beast threw its head back and roared, a sound of pure, vengeful malice. The chakra in its maw condensed into a swirling sphere of purple and black—a Tailed Beast Bomb. With another deafening roar, it launched the sphere not at the shinobi, but deeper into the village, toward the industrial sector. The subsequent explosion blossomed into a second sun, erasing another swath of Kumogakure from the map.
"Cloud Ninja Village," Ren's voice boomed, calm and absolute. "Your history as one of the Five Great Shinobi Villages ends today."
He willed the Susanoo forward. Each step was a seismic event, crushing buildings underfoot. Desperate waves of Cloud-nin hurled themselves at the advancing giant, their jutsu exploding harmlessly against the Susanoo's absolute defense. They were gnats trying to halt a landslide. Ren paid them no more mind than one would the weather, his path a straight line toward the village's heart. With every swing of the Amaterasu blade, he left behind a new river of fire, transforming the streets into a hellish landscape of burning rock and screaming souls.
Soon, he reached the central residential district. There, a final, determined line of Cloud shinobi stood guard. Behind them were the homes of their people, now evacuated, but homes nonetheless. Their faces were pale, their bodies trembled, but their feet were planted. They would make their stand here.
Ren looked upon their desperate, last-ditch formation, his expression one of utter boredom. "A final, futile gesture."
His hands flashed through a sequence of hand seals—a formality, a ritual to channel the power. He slammed his palm onto the ground.
**"Wood Style: Deep Forest Emergence."**
The very earth trembled. From the cracked ground, colossal trees and thick vines erupted with violent speed, weaving through the streets and over the buildings. The defensive line was shattered in an instant, shinobi flung aside or ensnared by the grasping flora. In moments, the heart of Kumogakure was transformed from a war-torn battlefield into a dense, unnatural forest, a testament to the god-like power of the Uchiha who had orchestrated its end.
