Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 Eternal Night Guardian

It wasn't that Gale was being whimsical; it was that the Well of Eternity possessed endless energy.

Using the currently available plan, they could utilize Arcane Absorption to train Mages, and then, through the infusion of a vast amount of Arcane Energy, create Guardian-level Mages. In ten thousand years, if not a thousand, at least eight hundred could be created.

One Guardian from Dalaran could easily defeat most demons, so a thousand to eight hundred Guardians protecting Azeroth would naturally not be a problem.

The only concern was the Old Gods hidden underground. If they were to tempt the Guardians, it could easily lead to internal strife, thereby reducing Azeroth's defensive strength.

Gale fell into thought. Logically, the Old Gods should have started to become active, but why were there no signs at all?

Could the Old Gods truly be so terrifying that they could silently disturb people's minds?

It seemed necessary to take precautions and create some equipment that could prevent the infiltration of the Old Gods.

Thinking of this, Gale's gaze fell upon Aggramar's Shield.

The Mage Tower guards lacked unified defensive gear, and Carlos also needed a suit of armor to ensure his safety. And in terms of defensive capabilities, what equipment could be more powerful than Aggramar's Shield?

Gale began to study the titan runes on Aggramar's Shield, setting aside other matters for the time being.

With the experience of the tide stone, Gale understood the function of the titan runes on Aggramar's Shield in less than half a month. He enchanted a mithril disc with a titan rune he named 'Guardian,' and reinforced the disc with thorium. On the back of the disc, he enchanted a healing rune.

When connecting the magic-conducting pathways, Gale set the trigger condition for the healing rune to be when the Guardian rune's energy was breached. That is to say, as long as an attack broke through the Guardian rune and harmed the user, the regeneration rune would be triggered to heal the user.

Gale used thorium-reinforced silver ingots to create the main body of the armor, and then inlaid the disc into the chest area of the armor. The magic-conducting pathways of the entire armor were completed, and the runes lit up.

The healing rune emitted specks of green light, seeping out along the magic-conducting pathways, which was quite beautiful.

Alright!

Gale once again referenced the style of royal equipment.

evernight guardian!

Because the energy shield generated by the Guardian rune could cover the entire body, Gale created the armor according to the cool game illustrations, without adding superfluous sleeves and pants.

Whether it's strong or not is a temporary problem; whether it's cool or not is a lifelong problem.

Of course, Gale also had other considerations.

Epic-grade armor was even more difficult to craft than epic-grade weapons, and Gale didn't want to expose the secret of the titan runes he possessed. Therefore, evernight guardian would not be sold externally; it would only be equipped by the Mage Tower guards as exclusive armor.

If Azshara or the army wanted to order armor, Gale would create a new epic-grade armor without titan runes. Even if the crafting process was cumbersome, the cost too high, and difficult to sell on a large scale, he would absolutely not sell evernight guardian.

Using a little time, Gale crafted four more evernight guardians.

After distributing them to Navoli and others, they were overjoyed. Armor was for saving lives, and the evernight guardian's life-saving ability was extremely powerful; not only could it provide an energy shield, but it would also trigger healing abilities after injury, which was simply double insurance.

Coupled with its handsome appearance, wearing it out on the street would surely attract the envy of countless Kaldorei.

Both strong and handsome, they naturally liked it.

Once again, they were impressed by Gale's aesthetic taste.

However, after putting them on, they still found a problem: they didn't have any matching protective gear. They spent all their time thinking about improving their strength, and although Gale paid them a lot of salary, they hadn't bought anything.

The Mage Tower provided food and lodging, with all aspects of daily life uniformly procured. As for equipment, there was even less to say; to this day, they were still looking forward to Gale personally crafting epic weapons for them!

So when they trained, they were still wearing their old equipment. This equipment from their impoverished days was of low quality and severely worn after a month or so of use. Although still usable, the appearance was really not good.

It was fine before; with all their equipment being like this, they didn't pay too much attention. Now, wearing the evernight guardian, this old equipment became an eyesore, so ugly that it made them feel self-conscious.

Are we still the beauty-loving Kaldorei? Why do we look like Trolls?

Unable to bear it any longer, the five rushed out of the Mage Tower immediately and went shopping on the street.

When they returned in the evening, they had changed into a set of equipment that barely matched the evernight guardian. Although it cost a lot of money, they didn't feel the slightest bit of regret.

The next day, after dressing neatly, they were all very satisfied with their new image.

Gale was also very satisfied. 'This is more in line with the image of my Mage Tower!'

He had been careless before, thinking that a single battle robe could solve the problem of uniform clothing. Now it seemed that for the image of the Mage Tower, a complete set of equipment also needed to be crafted.

Although there were other things to do at the moment, this matter also needed to be put on the agenda.

Just as Gale was designing weapons for the other four, Ambassador Veridis came to visit. He brought a very important piece of intelligence: 'Her Majesty the Queen has decided to launch a war against the Trolls.'

Gale was somewhat surprised, 'Now?'

Veridis nodded, 'That's right. Although the arrival of winter is not a good time to send troops, Her Majesty the Queen has no choice but to do so.'

'Her Majesty the Queen has been investigating the attacks on the logistics troops. But after such a long time, there has been no progress. When brought up for discussion, many Royal Mages did not approve of suspecting their own people.'

Now Gale was no longer surprised. If the Royal Mages admitted to having traitors, then a large-scale investigation of the entire high-level would ensue. Whether traitors were found or not was unknown, but the dirty deeds committed by the high-level would certainly be uncovered.

'So, Mage Savis proposed a suggestion. As long as the Trolls are all killed, even if that mysterious person is Quel'dorei, he won't be able to cause serious consequences.'

Gale chuckled, 'He really is a logical genius!'

Veridis spread his hands, 'But Her Majesty the Queen believed him!'

Gale shook his head, 'Her Majesty the Queen didn't believe him; she just went with the flow!'

Veridis pondered for a moment, 'Are you saying Her Majesty the Queen feels that the empire's development has reached a bottleneck and needs to expand its territory?'

'Territory isn't important!' Gale explained, 'With the current imperial territory, it's enough for the Kaldorei to live for another ten thousand years. What's important are resources. Besides magic, the empire needs a lot of wealth—minerals, timber, herbs, and even labor. The Kaldorei population is too small, and the ratio of nobles to commoners is severely imbalanced. Nobles who want to be free from production must have enough labor to support them...'

'You mean slaves?'
