The surname Gale sounds gentle, but Luden has a fiery temper. He speaks his mind directly, and his thoughts follow suit.
"My Lord, you're going to make a weapon for me?"
Gale nodded, "You've determined your development direction these past few years, so it is indeed time to make you a staff."
"That's great!" Luden's excitement burst forth in flames.
He wasn't just short-tempered; his spellcasting style was also explosive. Most mages first study Arcane before specializing in Fire Spells. He, however, skipped studying Arcane altogether, directly specializing in Fire Spells.
The main reason for this was the Elemental Spell Codex. After Gale had him copy the Elemental Spell Codex, Luden developed a particular fondness for explosive Fire Spells.
In pursuit of the most explosive output, he even attempted to elementalize himself into a Fire Elemental. Although he failed, it made him closer to Fire Elemental. Whenever his emotions fluctuated significantly, flames would immediately appear around his body, making him look like a man of fire.
"Should I make you a fire-element staff?" Gale teased him.
Luden quickly shook his head, "My Lord, I don't just like Fire Spells; I just like their powerful destructive force. So, the staff I want should be able to enhance damage."
Gale raised an eyebrow, "No wonder you waited for me to make you a staff!"
Among the five attendant mages, Antalia was the weakest, yet she had crafted an epic-grade staff herself. Luden was stronger than Antalia but had been waiting for Gale, clearly wanting a unique staff.
To this day, Gale remains the only mage who can skillfully perform permanent enchantments. His powerful micro-control allows Gale to permanently enchant any spell.
"Then I'll permanently enchant Equanimity onto your staff!"
"Equanimity? What kind of spell is that? Can it increase damage?" Luden looked at Gale, puzzled.
"You'll know when you try it."
Gale didn't elaborate. The triple Equanimity Great Fireball was the third brother's signature move, making Alliance low-level players cry for their parents and establishing the third brother's reputation.
By permanently enchanting Equanimity onto the staff, Luden could cast Equanimity faster and more frequently. Consecutive Equanimity Great Fireballs would be too much even for a boss!
Gale selected an oak branch and carved explosive runes onto it. Then he used an alloy of mithril and thorium to forge the staff's tip. Finally, he took out a runic orb, permanently enchanted Equanimity onto it, and then used Arcane Dust to connect Fire Essence, fixing the runic orb onto the base of the staff's tip. As the Fire Essence faded, the runic orb appeared to float on the staff.
Luden took the staff, activated Equanimity, and immediately felt the Fire Elemental in his body rapidly surge. He immediately cast a Fireball Spell, aiming at the training ground a hundred yards away.
"Whoosh—boom—"
The fireball flew rapidly, hitting a target on the training ground. The target exploded into fragments, which scattered and embedded themselves into surrounding targets, at least three inches deep.
Gale raised an eyebrow and asked, "How is it? Are you satisfied?"
Luden nodded repeatedly, "Satisfied, extremely satisfied."
He looked at the staff and said joyfully, "This staff is truly excellent. From now on, it shall be called the Gale Staff!"
"Cough—"
Gale almost got a backache. This kid completely didn't play by the rules! What in the world is a Gale Staff? Calling it an Equanimity Staff would be better than that!
"Well... I think Luden's Surge would be better."
"It's not as pleasant as Gale Staff," Luden said, completely unyielding.
Gale frowned deeply. This guy was going to kill his OCD!
"If you don't call it Luden's Surge, then give it back to me."
Luden's expression instantly changed, "I'll call it! It's Luden's Surge!"
After speaking, he turned and ran, almost colliding with Salador who had just arrived, afraid that Gale would take back the staff.
Salador was a step too late, watching enviously as Luden received his staff. At this point, he couldn't hold back either.
"Master, it should be my turn now, right?"
Gale nodded, "I'll make you a bow!"
"Okay!" Salador wasn't picky. He was a proper Ranger, proficient with bows, crossbows, and melee weapons alike.
As Gale gathered materials, he said, "Actually, I've had a plan for your bow for a long time, but I just haven't had time to make it. This bow is made from the ribs and sinews of Shim-Eba, the Father of Warm Winter. Shim-Eba's Sun Power will allow the arrows you shoot to carry fire damage."
Gale cut the ribs, sealed the cuts with Arcane, shaping them into sharp points. Then he used Arcane to thin the animal sinews and bind them to the ribs. He carved runes onto it, which could extract the divine power from the bow to imbue arrows with fire.
Handing the bow to Salador, he said, "It's a pity that too much divine power was lost when the ribs were cut. Otherwise, this bow should have been of legendary quality."
Salador felt a little disappointed hearing this. No one who could use a divine artifact would want to downgrade to an epic weapon. However, after receiving it, he still loved it immensely; this bow was entirely custom-made for him.
Because both the ribs and sinews were Arcane-treated, it didn't have the slow firing speed of Lu'anna's Hurricane. He loved to draw the bow continuously, and the loa's sinews were strong enough to withstand the wear and tear of continuous drawing.
Shim-Eba's ribs were also exceptionally hard, and the sharp points on both sides of the bow could be used as weapons. In an emergency, when melee weapons couldn't be used, the bow's sharp points could be used to kill enemies.
To avoid a situation where Luden's insistence would drive him crazy, Gale preemptively said, "This bow is called the Sunstreak Bow. You must use it well from now on."
Salador's eyes flickered, then he solemnly said, "Master, rest assured, I will not fail the name of Sunstreak."
Gale was very satisfied to see him so understanding.
"These next few days, you need to familiarize yourself with the Sunstreak Bow. When Kana returns, he might send you out to help the Tauren."
Salador asked curiously, "Master, are you trying to win over the Tauren?"
Gale didn't deny it, "The Tauren are strong and powerful, naturally formidable warriors. If we can win them over, the Kaldorei won't need too many warrior formations, and the Rangers and mages can attack safely from a distance."
Salador imagined a group of Tauren charging into battle, and the scene must be quite impressive.
"I know what to do."
With that, Salador bowed to Gale and turned to leave.
Gale was a little puzzled. What did you know?
After three years away, why had his subordinates changed so much? Was it because Arcane Absorption had been used too much, and their minds were affected?
No, it seems that when making equipment again, he would have to permanently enchant the Arcane Baptism rune set to instill some sense into these people. Otherwise, if these people were controlled by the Old Gods to assassinate him, he would be completely defenseless.
