Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Hammer of Khaz'goroth

Gale couldn't help but roll his eyes at Ulgineis's showboating.

He just happened to have a good mother! What's the big deal!

For some reason, a sour feeling welled up in Gale's heart. If he could, he also wanted to be Elune's son. Born with divine power, naturally growing into a demigod, and protected by his father and adoptive mother – being born with a silver spoon in his mouth wasn't enough to describe Cenarius's origins.

In the world of Azeroth, besides Azeroth, the future Titan, was there anyone with a better background than Cenarius?

"Ulgineis?"

Cenarius's sudden voice caught Gale's attention.

In the open space ahead, Ulgineis was attacking a Titan-forged magic circle. Within the magic circle, a huge hammer floated in mid-air.

"This is…"

A glint flashed in Gale's eyes—the Hammer of Kaz'goroth!!!

"Stop it, how dare you destroy a Titan's seal!!!"

Gale roared, forcefully activating the devourer of gods, drawing upon the divine power of four loa, and attacking Ulgineis.

Ulgineis was caught off guard and was knocked to the ground. It rolled over, shot a resentful glance at the Hammer of Kaz'goroth, and then turned and ran!

Gale shouted loudly, "Lord Cenarius, we must not let it escape."

Cenarius nodded and immediately gave chase. Just as he was about to enter the passage, he felt that Gale hadn't followed. Turning back, he saw Gale already next to the hammer, breaking the Titan's seal.

"This fellow!"

Cenarius gritted his teeth. You tell me to chase, and then you go get the artifact left by the Titan. He really wanted to go back and teach Gale a lesson. But after thinking about it, he still decided to pursue Ulgineis.

On one hand, it was because of him that Ulgineis had escaped. On the other hand, he wasn't very concerned about Titan artifacts; if he wanted to, he could create artifacts at any time.

In his opinion, artifacts were powerful weapons for mortals, allowing mortals to challenge gods. The power of a demigod allowed him to completely disregard the function of artifacts.

Seeing that Cenarius had actually gone after Ulgineis, Gale breathed a sigh of relief.

Taking advantage of the deserted surroundings, Gale focused all his efforts on studying the magic circle. To his relief, Ulgineis's previous attack had already damaged the magic circle considerably; he only needed to destroy the last part of it to get the Hammer of Kaz'goroth.

So, Gale raised the devourer of gods and used the divine power of the four loa to attack the magic circle.

The formidable divine power quickly destroyed the magic circle, and the Hammer of Kaz'goroth was exposed before Gale.

Gale reached out and grabbed it, suppressing the urge to examine it immediately, and placed it into his magic bag.

This was, after all, a Drogbar underground cave, and logically, this hammer should belong to the Drogbar. In the game's storyline, Huln Highmountain and Igrul, the Drogbar chieftain at the time, found the Hammer of Kaz'goroth together. Huln Highmountain used it to banish Deathwing. Afterward, the Hammer of Kaz'goroth was brought back to Thunder Totem and became a sacred relic of the Tauren.

Ten thousand years later, Mayla Highmountain, the chieftain of the Highmountain tribe, wanted to give the Hammer of Kaz'goroth to the player, but it was stolen by Dargrul, the Underking of the Drogbar. Dargrul believed that the Hammer of Kaz'goroth was an artifact belonging to the Drogbar, and that the Drogbar had given the sacred hammer to the Tauren out of friendship, in gratitude for Huln Highmountain banishing Deathwing and saving the Drogbar. If the Tauren no longer wanted to use it, it should be returned to its rightful owner.

Gale now taking the Hammer of Kaz'goroth cut off any possible excuse for the Drogbar to claim it. After all, the Drogbar were only assisting the allied forces and had not joined the three-party alliance, so whoever obtained the Hammer of Kaz'goroth would own it.

Of course, the Drogbar had not yet passed through the portal. As long as Cenarius didn't mention this, the Drogbar would never know that Gale had taken an artifact from here.

It wasn't that Gale was a scoundrel, but rather that the Hammer of Kaz'goroth possessed immense power. If the Drogbar held it, it would only invite disaster, as an innocent man with a treasure is guilty.

Having found many excuses for himself, Gale felt at ease with his acquisition.

He blinked into the passage, ready to pursue Ulgineis. However, both Ulgineis and Cenarius had vanished.

Looking at the numerous branching passages, Gale was momentarily unsure which way to go. Just as he was fretting, Turok arrived, riding an underground worm.

"Lord Gale, where is Lord Cenarius?"

Gale cleared his throat before saying, "Lord Cenarius pursued Ulgineis, and both have disappeared."

Turok quickly said, "The worms can find them, Lord Gale, I'll take you."

Gale nodded and jumped onto the back of the underground worm. At Turok's command, the underground worm sped forward, moving as fast as a high-speed train. This made Gale sigh, thinking that these large worms were really good things. If he could get some to use as a subway, it would probably be more impressive than the subway from Stormwind City to Ironforge!

Of course, he was just thinking.

Not to mention how many underground worms the Drogbar had, or whether they would be willing to transfer them. The appearance of the underground worms themselves did not conform to Kaldorei aesthetics. Furthermore, while their speed was fast, it was much slower compared to portals.

The Kaldorei didn't live underground all year round, so thinking about developing underground worms was less practical than thinking about how to raise hippogryphs!

The underground worm traveled at high speed, soon reaching a brightly lit area. Gale looked closely and realized they had arrived at an exit.

Turok said, "Lord Gale, Lord Cenarius left the cave from here. Worms cannot be exposed to light for long, so I can only take you this far. But don't worry, I'll go back and gather the army to continue the pursuit."

Gale dismounted the worm. "I must also trouble the chieftain to bring the Kaldorei and Tauren."

"No problem!" Turok quickly agreed.

Gale bid farewell to Turok and walked out of the cave. After surveying the surroundings, Gale blinked to the top of a high mountain.

Ulgineis was tall and easy to spot. Soon, Gale saw it fleeing north. Cenarius followed close behind, chasing it all the way to a cliff.

Cenarius intentionally drove Ulgineis to the cliff. Ulgineis was already severely wounded. Jumping off the cliff would surely not save it, so it might as well turn and confront Cenarius head-on, perhaps with a sliver of hope.

But it clearly overestimated itself and underestimated Cenarius's strength.

Cenarius waved his hand, and countless roots burst from the ground, binding it. Just as Ulgineis tried to struggle, the roots pierced its body through the wounds, tearing it into pieces in an instant.

Suddenly, a Soul Blade plunged into Ulgineis's corpse.

Cenarius turned to look, only to see Gale manipulating the devourer of gods nearby, dragging Ulgineis's soul over and devouring it completely.

"Stop—"

Cenarius wanted to speak out and stop him, but he was too late.
