The establishment of the Earthen Ring was a key event in regulating the behavior of the Druids.
What truly set the Druids on the right path was Gale planting the third World Tree.
After obtaining Ganil's seed, Gale had been searching for a suitable planting location, wavering between the Broken Isles and Redridge Mountain.
The Broken Isles already had Shaladrassil and did not need a second World Tree. However, considering Shaladrassil's distance from Nordrassil, if it were to be blessed by the Guardian Dragons, a large number of troops would be needed for protection, which would disperse Nordrassil's forces.
Redridge Mountain had several advantages, possessing the Stone Well as an energy source that could continuously supply energy to the new World Tree. The new World Tree could also provide eternal life to the Kaldorei on Redridge Mountain, thus strengthening control over Redridge Mountain.
However, Gale considered that Redridge Mountain was a mining base, with abundant mineral resources in the Redridge Mountains. After the new World Tree was planted, many minerals would be inconvenient to excavate.
Finally, Gale decided to place the new World Tree in the Broken Isles, near Nordrassil. This would not only provide eternal life to the Kaldorei of the Broken Isles but also facilitate nearby protection.
On a small hill in the west of Taiannuo and north of Shal'Aran, Gale planted Ganil's seed.
Nalarex led the Druids in observing the ceremony and bestowed blessings upon the seed.
The seed quickly sprouted, and Nalarex used the Tome of the Elder to guide the Natural Power, helping it grow quickly.
The Druids prayed devoutly, "Great Natural Power, please grant it the power to heal the land!"
"Great Natural Power, please grant it the power to heal the land!"
"Great Natural Power, please grant it the power to heal the land..."
Gale raised the eternal spear and infused it with divine life force. The sapling gradually grew, eventually responding to the Druids' prayers.
As it grew, the divine life force guided the Natural Power into the earth. The wounds of the land in the Suramar region gradually healed, and the surrounding natural energies surged in, using their own energy to help it continue growing.
Gale put down the eternal spear and solemnly declared, "The new World Tree will embody your vision; it will continuously heal the wounds of the land. It will also have its own name, Teldrassil, Crown of the Earth!"
"Teldrassil!"
"Teldrassil!"
"Teldrassil..."
The Druids raised their hands, expressing their reverence for Teldrassil.
Teldrassil, like a darling of nature, possessed extraordinary significance from its birth.
Amidst the blessings, it grew taller than typical oak trees, gradually surpassing the mountains, its canopy shading the sky and blocking out Kaldorei villages several miles away.
Alexstrasza the Red Dragon, Ysera the Green Dragon, Nozdormu the Bronze Dragons, and Malygos the Blue Dragon descended, circling Teldrassil and bestowing their blessings upon it.
Nozdormu's blessing: As long as Teldrassil exists, the Kaldorei will not age or fall ill.
Not aging or falling ill eliminated the Kaldorei's worries; as long as they did not die, the Kaldorei would quickly recover their strength. Previously, they needed to rest after 10 hours of work each day. Now, they could continue working even after 16 hours.
Malygos's blessing: As long as Teldrassil exists, the Kaldorei will always maintain a rational mind.
Malygos's blessing was cast after studying the Arcane Baptism.
Maintaining rationality allowed the Kaldorei to constantly think. In their thoughts, countless gems of wisdom were summarized during their work: tools were upgraded, spells were innovated, designs were bold and advanced, and programs were continuously optimized.
The construction project of Nordrassil thus entered the fast lane. What was originally estimated to take several decades to complete is now expected to be finished in less than ten years.
Alexstrasza's blessing: As long as Teldrassil exists, the Kaldorei will easily conceive new life.
This blessing was strongly requested by Gale; the long-lived Kaldorei had very weak reproductive capabilities. Druids who studied Natural Power might be slightly better, but conceiving one generation still took hundreds of years.
This clearly did not meet Gale's strategic needs; he wanted to restore the territorial area of Azshara's era, which required a large population. Due to a lack of population, Gale had not yet gone to trouble those disobedient lords. Cenarion Thicket, Ereylas, and the small lords on the Kalimdor mainland were currently all independent.
If he waited hundreds or thousands of years to reclaim these territories, the common people at the lower levels would likely have become alienated from the empire.
With Alexstrasza's blessing, the time it took for Kaldorei to conceive a generation could drop below a hundred years, and the rate of population increase would be several times faster than before, providing favorable assistance for Gale to implement his population growth policy.
Ysera's blessing: Establish a connection between Teldrassil and the Emerald Dream.
From then on, Druids could enter the Emerald Dream through Teldrassil and also draw energy from the Emerald Dream through Teldrassil to heal the land.
Because of the Druids' blessings, Teldrassil could heal the land on its own. This led to a very undesirable consequence: Teldrassil itself could use the energy of the Emerald Dream to heal the land.
One might ask: Isn't this a good thing? It saves the Druids a lot of effort.
This was indeed good for the Druids, but it was very detrimental to the Emerald Dream.
Although the Emerald Dream contained a large amount of Natural Power, it all emanated from Ganil, the Mother Tree. Teldrassil's unrestrained drawing of energy from the Emerald Dream would inevitably lead to a massive loss of energy from the Emerald Dream. The void in Natural Power would also need Ganil, the Mother Tree, to replenish it.
And now, Ganil, the Mother Tree, herself needed to replenish energy through the eternal holy grail, so how could she quickly fill this huge deficit?
Therefore, Teldrassil's flow had to be restricted. Otherwise, the energy in the Emerald Dream would eventually be drained by Teldrassil.
From then on, the Druids had an additional task: to soothe Teldrassil and make it slow down its healing of the land.
The Earthen Ring had just been established when it fell into this kind of happy trouble.
However, this situation would not last too long; once Teldrassil healed the land of the Broken Isles, its rate of healing the land would slow down.
Afterward, the other three Guardian Dragons left, but Malygos stayed behind.
He exchanged knowledge about Arcane magic with Gale. While Gale's knowledge reserves were not as extensive as Malygos's, his perspectives were unconventional and often made Malygos's eyes light up.
Subsequently, Malygos and Gale reached an agreement for magical exchange.
Malygos, with his sanity intact, was a benevolent and wise individual. Unlike the other three Guardian Dragons, he held no prejudice against the Arcane. He strongly agreed with Gale's statement that energy has no good or evil; only those who wield it do.
After Malygos left, he quickly dispatched a team of more than a dozen people to Nordrassil to exchange knowledge about Arcane magic.
