Alexstrasza's blessing quickly took effect, and the first pregnant women appeared in Nordrassil, with Maiev among them.
Gale was overjoyed. Although the Kaldorei could already live forever and didn't need to worry too much about heirs, Gale was still thrilled to have his own child.
He was not a cold-blooded monarch; he also needed family affection.
The Morning Light Family lost many members during the War of the Ancients. The entire family, apart from Carlos, Pisaster, and Rielly, had fewer than ten people left. The others, including Gale's parents, either died in the demon invasion or sank to the bottom of the sea with the land during the Well of Eternity's explosion.
The Morning Light Family would welcome a new generation of members, and the Kaldorei Empire would also welcome its first true prince or princess.
To welcome the little one's birth, Gale temporarily changed the construction order and built a palace in Taiannuo to serve as the little one's future residence.
After the palace was completed, Gale and Maiev held a grand wedding there.
Witnessed by everyone in Nordrassil and envoys from all Alliance groups, the two exchanged vows, swearing to love each other for life.
A few months later, Maiev gave birth to a boy.
Gale named him Tydasshid, to commemorate the World Tree Teldrassil bringing a new generation of members to the Kaldorei Empire.
Around the time Tydasshid was born, over a thousand infants were born in Nordrassil. Such a large-scale birth of new life was unprecedented among the Kaldorei. Even during Azshara's most prosperous period, after capturing a large number of troll slaves, the population boom still only resulted in sporadic births.
What's more, Nordrassil currently had several thousand pregnant women.
Almost all married women were pregnant, which was nothing short of a miracle.
Thanks to Teldrassil's effects, Nordrassil's population entered a boom period without Gale needing to implement population policies. Moreover, this boom period would be very long, possibly lasting until Teldrassil ceased to exist.
"Tsk tsk, is this the power of a god? For mortals, it's even more effective than medicine."
Maiev looked at Gale in surprise, "Medicine? What medicine can increase the fertility rate?"
Gale waved his hand, "I was just saying."
"Come, let me test the child's affinity for various magics."
Maiev anxiously handed Tydasshid to Gale, "Be careful, don't hurt the child."
"Aren't you confident in my micro-management?" Gale took his son and began the test.
Maiev: "Yes, yes, yes, you are the best."
Gale knew Maiev was worried. Ever since Tydasshid's birth, Maiev had been overly concerned. This was a common problem for new mothers; because they didn't know how to care for a child, they were afraid any action might harm him.
Actually, she didn't need to be so nervous, because with Teldrassil's presence, the child wouldn't get sick. So as long as they prevented the child from getting injured, they could ensure he grew up.
To ease Maiev's worries, Gale changed the subject: "Garrosh has been a bit distracted lately!"
When his brother was mentioned, Maiev pursed her lips and smiled: "Him! He's in love recently."
"Oh?" Gale became interested, "Which girl is so lucky to have caught Garrosh's eye?"
"It's a young girl named Sarahshir," Maiev said. "Although her strength isn't great, she knows how to cook and do housework. She's a good candidate for a wife."
Gale shook his head slightly, "She still needs to have the ability to protect herself. You should guide her more, at least let her learn how to use one type of energy. Arcane knowledge is too profound; she could learn nature magic, or Holy Light magic is also good."
Maiev glanced at him and said thoughtfully, "I will arrange this."
Seeing that Maiev understood his meaning, Gale said no more. He then brought up another pair, "Nasha seems to be very close to Karna."
"Did you just notice?" Maiev looked at him playfully, "During the Troll War, they were already very close. I just didn't expect them to still not have confessed their feelings to each other."
Gale said innocently, "I thought their interactions were for official business! Karna, too, why doesn't he learn from Salador? He and Luna have already set their wedding date."
"Salador and Luna were originally teammates, and both of them have outgoing personalities. When Salador went to Vashj'ir to take office, Luna didn't care what others thought. If Smaug wasn't too heavy and the Sunstrider couldn't carry him, Luna would probably have gone with Salador then."
"Indeed!" Gale showed an aunt-like smile, "That's two couples now. Please keep an eye out and introduce others. If these boys all start families, I'll be more at ease. Don't be like Mejia, who hasn't even been in a relationship."
When Mejia was mentioned, Gale's mood soured.
Although Mejia was still around, life and death were two different states. If he hadn't turned Mejia into a Lich, Mejia would probably be frolicking with Aeon on Shaladrassil.
Maiev also fell silent, "I will keep an eye on this."
For a moment, the two looked at each other in silence.
Gale finished the test and handed his son to Maiev.
"How is he?" Maiev quickly asked.
Gale: "As long as he is willing to learn, he should be able to advance to Archmage by the time he's an adult."
"Really?" Maiev's eyes lit up. Becoming an Archmage as an adult, this talent was truly unprecedented!
Comparing the talented Mages of the Kaldorei Empire, one by one, whether it was geniuses like Gale and Metri, or the talented Mages carefully cultivated by other families, none of them had advanced to Archmage as an adult.
"Why are you so excited?" Gale said speechlessly, "Don't you see our combined strength? When you were pregnant with him, I went all out."
"Go on!" Maiev blushed and hit him, "What nonsense are you talking about?"
Gale rolled his eyes. Maiev had misunderstood. What he meant by 'went all out' was not that; it was that he had subtly permeated the seven divine powers from the eternal spear into his son's embryo, little by little.
With such a high cost, not to mention Tydasshid having high talent, he would have found it normal even if a demigod had been born. Clearly, Tydasshid's talent did not meet Gale's expectations.
He pondered, he must make improvements next time.
Maiev didn't know Gale's thoughts. She blushed and glared at Gale, blaming him for saying such strange things in front of their son.
Although Tydasshid was still young, it was still very embarrassing.
Tydasshid looked at one, then at the other, completely unaware of what his parents were doing. If he had known, he would definitely have said: The adult world is truly too complicated.
