Chapter 24 - Portal

They finished their meal and left the restaurant, walking down the street to an old buildings. The buildings have been built during the era of endless night(mare). The building was very old and had been renovated several times because it was on the verge of collapse. While walking, Marcus accidentally bumped into a man, causing him to fall with his book.

"I'm sorry." Marcus apologized. He helped the man to stand up.

"It's okay, it's not your fault. I just wasn't focused." He said. The man picked up the book he had previously been holding from the ground. The book looked strange, very difficult to describe, but it seemed to have an aura of darkness. When they looked at the book more closely, it was a book about Zacrathis.

"What book is that, if i may ask?" Damian asked.

"This book contains information about the legendary creature Loreineta. This book says if they still exist and i can find it." He said.

Loreineta is a legendary creature said to be able to grant all wishes. That creature used to be very difficult to find; people raced to find it so that all their wishes would be granted, especially since their population was small.

"The book say the creature is still exist, and there's a portal leading to where they hiding. So i want to try and find the portal." He said.

"And you believe that?" Ask Marcus. " It's a book about Zacrathis, not Loreineta."

The man look confused. "What do you mean Zacrathis? It's abou Loreineta!" The man clutching the book. He though they wanted to take the book from him

"But that's a book about Zacrathis. Not Loreineta! How can you're not see it!" Riley said.

The man shook his head and frowned, he walked away, leaving them.

A person who has been affected by the book's magic will see it as a book about Loreineta, not as a book about Zacrathis.

They were curious and followed the man from behind, because they felt something was strange, they followed the man. The man walked a very long way, they even considered turning back, but they were also curious, especially since the book had a very dark aura.

"We're look like stalkers." Eva said. "Is it really okay if we follow him? What if it's just a regular book? Or is that man drunk???"

"It's possible, but that book does have a strange aura. It's a book about Zacrathis, but the man said it was about Loreineta. There seems to be something strange about that book." Selena said.

Amalie nodded. "Selena is right. The aura is... make me uncomfortable. I think that book is dangerous!"

"That's dangerous book contains Zacrathis's magic." Marcus said, suddenly.

They all look shocked, but before they can say something to Marcus, the man suddenly entered the old building, he went to the underground and it turned out to be a tunnel. He walked quite far. They weren't sure if they should go all the way there or not, but they senses a strung dark aura from the tunnel. They follow the man and that's was clear if they saw something like a dark portal.

Just as the man was about to enter the portal, Damian suddenly ran toward him and pulled him away. The man's eyes had completely turned black, and his body seemed to be controlled by something. He was writhing and struggling. Damian and Marcus tried to stop him, but his strength was really strong.

"It seems that book is a magic book!" Eva said.

Amalie and Riley helped Damian and Marcus. But the man instead reached out his hand, causing Amalie to fall.

"Damn it, what the hell are you doing?!" Marcus said. Marcus tried to hold the man.

Selena didn't know what to do, suddenly her bag felt heavy. She open her bag and the book is there, "The Veiled Grimoire." Even though she didn't even touch the book this morning before going to Costa Strageva, it's so strange.

Selena reached for the book and opened the table of contents to the section on how to release the magic of Zacrathis. Selena was surprised because the table of contents of this book had never mentioned Zacrathis before, so why was the word "Zacrathis" suddenly appear in the book?

Selena opened page 777.

How to release the magic of Zacrathis

"Lessia devicuse veizio magiquex deise zacrathis"

Selena walked closer to the stranger and read the spell in the book aloud. The wind suddenly blew very strongly even though they were in the basement, and the man suddenly fell and fainted.

"What just happened?" Eva looks really confused.

'I don't know, but suddenly there's a spell to release Zacrathis's magic in this book, even though i've never seen the word Zacrathis in this book before." Selena said.

"It seems the book the man is holding isn't an ordinary book, but is related to Zacrathis." Damian said. "

Marcus nodded, agree with Damian. "I once read a book about Zacrathis. They were banished from Orthelis hundreds of years ago after mortals and immortals worked together to build an invisible barrier, so the Zacrathis couldn't break it and go to Orthelis. Perhaps this book is a medium for them to find people, so they can take their souls because they need the souls of mortal and immortal beings to strengthen their powers." Marcus said.

"But didn't they say they couldn't go to Orthelis, so how could this book be here?" Asked Eva.

Marcus shook his head "I don't know, maybe this book has been around for hundreds of years, even before the magical barrier was built, or maybe someone is working with them and put this book here. What's clear is that this book is very dangerous." Marcus said.

"But didn't the portals to their world all been destroyed long ago? Why was there one here?" Asked Riley.

"I don't know either, maybe it's a hidden portal that hasn't been destroyed yet, or maybe it belongs to another creature." Marcus said.

"We need to discuss this with someone who understands it much better." Amalie said.

Selena nodded in agreement, she paused for a moment and then remembered someone. "Nephada! She's a witch who lives in the Stragivane. I once went to his house with Alice to look for Matthew. And this book came from his house, which for some reason keeps following me. The distance from the mountain to Costa Strageva isn't too far, but it still takes time to get there." Selena said.

"We need this help, it's very important. It seems we can ask the Immortal for help." Eva said.

"Ma-" Selena almost said the name Matthias. Luckily, her mouth quickly closed again.

Amalie look at Selena. "What do you want to say?" Asked Amalie.

"Nothing, i just wanted to say that maybe you know Immortal beings." Selena said.

"Maybe Victor can help us?" Damian said.

"Yeah, you're right. It's not me who can transport us. Maybe he can help us teleport to the witch house." Eva said.

"But will he be willing to help us?" Amalie asked.

"He should be willing to help us. He's helped me many times before, he even showed up out of the blue before i asked for help." Marcus said. "Even when my leg was slightly injured, he suddenly appeared and treated my wound."

"Maybe... he like you?" Riley blurted out suddenly.

Marcus looked surprised. "Of course not! He said he had two younger siblings in the past before he became Dracula and he said that every time he sees me and Damian, he's remember of his siblings. That's what he once told me."

"Do you have his number? You can try calling them to come." Selena said.

Marcus nodded, "Yes, I have his number." Marcus took his phone from his pocket, looked up Viktor's number, and waited for Viktor to answer. Soon after, Viktor answered.

"Hi Victor, this is Marcus. I'm at Costa Strageva. We found someone who has a... strange book, book abou Zacrathis, but he said the books were about Loreinete. He go to the old building and there's tunnel under the building, and there's a portal there. We followed him because we senses a dark aura from the book. We trying to stop him from entering the portal, bhe man's eyes were completely black and his body seemed to be controlled by something. Could you come and help us? Marcus said to Victor through the phone call.

Victor just replied "Okay." Victor just silent for a moment, and suddenly he appeared behind Damian. They look shocked when they suddenly saw Victor appear behind Damian.

"Hey." Victor grinning. He still held his phone close with his ear.
