Chapter 3 - Thoughts(2)

He didn't know the exact location of the Black Flood Dragon Clan; he only remembered that it was somewhere in the South Sea. That was the first problem.

The second was how to join the clan. They were, as their name suggested, a clan. Judging by the standards of this world, a safe bet would be through marriage. If that were the case, he wouldn't mind at all, a marriage for benefits was perfectly acceptable.

That damned dragon hadn't even bothered to connect with others of its race, and the result was a complete lack of useful information about the path ahead. It had only lived on this mountain, copulating with any beast that came its way.

If he had to marry someone to gain access to the cultivation resources and knowledge of an ancient clan, he wouldn't mind.

======

In front of Ao Ziyun was a gigantic and fierce lizard, its entire body covered in deep purple scales. In addition, it had a thick layer of bony plates on its back.

He could notice slight similarities between himself and the lizard. The one in front of him was the "chief" of the Purple Thunder Lizards and was responsible for guarding the entrance of his cave during his fight.

For this reason, Ao Ziyun noticed that it was quite debilitated, probably struck by part of some attack from Mu Qianyu.

"Great Ancestor, a large part of the lizards at the top of the mountain are injured, unable to fight," said the lizard, whom Ao Ziyun decided to call Shou.

In reality, it hadn't spoken those words in human language. Ao Ziyun was able to understand what Shou and the other lizards were saying, but to any human, it would sound like nothing more than hissing roars.

"It doesn't matter."

"Order the lizards that are healthy to collect any resources on the mountain, and at the base as well, and bring them to my cave."

Shou lowered his head in sequence, turned clumsily, and went to carry out his order.

Most of the Purple Thunder Lizards were severely debilitated, and about a third of them had died after gathering here following the trail of the Vermilion Bird and suffering the impact of the secondary tremors from the battle.

The luck was that the mountain was vast, and a large part of the lizards hadn't climbed to the peak.

The Blue Lizards were Houtian-level beasts, perfectly capable of coercing the lower lizards to descend the mountain.

At the base of the mountain, there was a human tribe that profited from selling resources from the mountain, such as Thunder Grass, and being a major trading point among cultivators, Ao Ziyun hoped that the quantity of items obtained would be satisfactory.

The descent of these beasts would trigger the outbreak of a Beast Tide, a rare event near Thundercrash Mountain. It is common for Beast Tides to occur in the Southern Wilderness, but the lizards rarely descended the mountain and were generally the weakest in the hierarchy.

The environment of the mountain was perfect for his development; the thunder energy here was among the most intense. The peak was constantly bombarded by lightning, which was absorbed by the magnetic ore composing the mountain's summit. For this reason, the most powerful lizards stayed at the top of the mountain, along with the dragon, to absorb this energy.

With the abundant thunder energy, the dragon was able to develop its own Thunder Soul, the Purple Flood Dragon Divine Thunder. Although it had been damaged during the previous battle, the points he used for recovery also regenerated his Thunder Soul.

======

Shou looked up at the stormy sky of the mountain peak. A dragon could be seen flying with impressive agility, despite its gigantic body. It was surrounded by a cloak of purple lightning and looked like a comet.

Shou wasn't particularly intelligent, but he felt that his Great Ancestor was very different. He didn't remember his Ancestor flying randomly in the sky.

======

Ao Ziyun descended from the skies, still glowing due to the cloak of lightning surrounding his body.

He spent a good amount of time testing his abilities. Even having inherited the memories, the feeling of executing them was quite different.

Despite having a large body, he was surprisingly agile, and his speed became even greater when enveloped by his Thunder Soul.

He was trying to develop some martial abilities when he had the idea of wrapping himself in lightning.

He remembered an anime he had watched before transmigrating. It didn't have the same effect, but he was sure that his offensive power increased considerably, even though the expenditure of true essence wasn't very practical.

He had no foundation to develop any true martial skill; he was only using his physical body and his Thunder Soul as a coating. Compared to human martial abilities, his skills were very crude.

He urgently needed to get his hands on cultivation methods and real techniques. After his subordinates finished collecting resources, he would descend the mountain to search for cultivation methods and explore the region before seeking the Black Flood Dragon Clan.
