"So pick whatever you like, Ms. Lay," Misha beamed, pointing at the menu on the wall.
"I'm sorry, but it's Lau," Kirsten corrected.
"Oh no, I always make these mistakes. I'm sorry, Ms. Lao."
This was the fourth time this silly woman got her name wrong, Kirsten noted. It was almost as if she had both hearing and memory of a goldfish. The new intern was briefed already that Master James and Misha's relationship was still in the 'early days,' but it was already clear that Misha didn't win the Emperor's heart with her intelligence.
"I will take Spaghetti Carbonara," Kirsten decided, after a quick glance at the menu.
"Good choice. Mm-hm. I will have the same," Misha nodded.
Once the orders were placed, Kirsten decided to probe a bit.
"Thank you for inviting me for lunch. I didn't think things would start so quick. I just had my interview today and now I'm here having lunch with a senior already," a smile that looked genuine, but wasn't.
Misha blushed.
