One of the paladins stepped back. He planted his foot into the stone floor and pulled his sword behind him.
Mana surged. A heavy breath escaped through his helmet, steam spilling from the gaps.
With a roar, he swung. The blade came down with overwhelming force.
Rowan blocked it, but this time he slid back half a step.
The stone beneath his feet cracked.
Rowan's eyes opened slowly.
Rowan exhaled slowly.
"I'll be honest with you," he said calmly. "You're strong. Strong enough to earn respect."
The two Paladin Knights remained silent, standing like statues in their heavy armor.
"But I'm not here to talk," Rowan continued, raising his sword. "I'm here to take your heads."
He leapt forward.
Steel screamed as all three moved at once.
