Chapter 8 - New Beautiful Bodyguard, Terminator T-X

It turned out the System store had all sorts of categories.

Whether it was from the sci-fi world or the fantasy world, as long as he could pay, his needs could be met.

For example, technology from a certain world, or various T-series robots from the Terminator world, which were quite cheap.

Then there were Autobots from the Transformers world, which he could get as long as he paid a little bit.

Of course, items from those gag anime worlds didn't appear here. The System clearly despised those things; once they left the gag anime, they were just ridiculous.

He browsed around and found a grayed-out page. It was obvious he didn't have the required permissions, meaning even with money, he couldn't enjoy them.

Those Terminator robots were quite cheap; even the very formidable T-X from the movies only cost 2000 Points.

There were also more expensive items, like the top-tier Devil Fruits from One Piece, such as the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and the Tremor-Tremor Fruit.

He didn't bother listing other, more expensive items. To him, they were all just flashy and impractical. Maybe he could get them for his teammates later.

"Only those support items are decent. I don't really need anything to boost my power..."

Chen Xi pouted. He wasn't being sarcastic...

Did his Superman need any of that fancy stuff? No matter how many tricks you have, he could break through with a single punch!

What he needed now was to save up to merge templates. For example, his goal was to merge with Silver Age Superman. He had also seen the Ancient Doomsday template, which was no cheaper than Silver Age Superman.

If he merged with Undying Superman, and then merged with the infinitely-potential Silver Age Superman, tsk tsk tsk!

The unkillable me will eventually be invincible!

The online buzz was getting more intense, and it seemed like there were even more fanatical followers. But some people were worried.

Both the police and the military deeply resented these unrestrained superhumans. They made them look incompetent!

When Chen Xi got home and opened the door, he saw Wanda staring at him intently. Her unsettling gaze made Chen Xi feel a bit uneasy.

"Oh ho, our big hero is back?"

Wanda pointed at the photos on the computer screen and said sarcastically.

She hadn't expected that the guy she spent all her time with would hide such a big secret from her. Obviously, he didn't trust her, right? You scumbag, you just wanted to use me!

"I didn't hide anything from you. Didn't I just rush into the bathroom looking like a cooked lobster? That's because I suddenly awakened my Mutant genes, so I suddenly became powerful."

Facing Wanda's dissatisfaction, Chen Xi could only shrug his shoulders and start talking nonsense in a serious manner. Anyway, it was all pretty much the same, right?

"Really?"

Wanda looked at him suspiciously. His explanation seemed to make sense; things had felt off just now.

But she hadn't heard of any Mutants who became this violent right after awakening. He was like the Hulk!

"Hey! You think I'm kidding? Fine then, I'll have to resort to violence!"

Chen Xi pretended to be displeased, figuring he'd just bluff his way through this.

"Wait! Chotto matte! You're being a cheat again!"

"No, no, no. Not in broad daylight, is it?"

Wanda blushed and quickly begged for mercy. This jerk always resorted to cheating at every turn, and she could never do anything about it.

"What's not to like? Isn't a game that's good for your physical and mental health always a good thing?"

Chen Xi grinned, scooped her up, and charged towards the bedroom. No matter how much Wanda hammered at him, it was useless. Soon, she was screaming and crying.

George Stacy had been incredibly frustrated lately. Ever since that day, their police officers were clearly insufficient. Countless middle schoolers had started imitating Chen Xi on the streets.

As for the "zero-dollar shopping" phenomenon, that had become commonplace. The police station received so many calls every day it almost drove him crazy.

A middle-aged man's body was already weak, and it wasn't easy working overtime every day. His wife was now a tigress, and he almost didn't have a drop left. [His wife in this universe hadn't died.]

And his daughter, Gwen, was also a headache. The young woman, at the tender age of eighteen, was just beginning to experience love, and after encountering a hero, she was now hopelessly infatuated…

Violence only breeds more violence, and all of this seemed very unreasonable, yet he felt something was very wrong.

Because every time night fell, a figure would appear, constantly punishing criminals, and no one could see his face.

"Ding, mission complete, reward five hundred Justice Points."

"Ding, mission complete, reward three hundred Justice Points."

"Ding, mission complete, reward three hundred Justice Points."

"..."

The result of a busy night was a meager seven thousand points, which made Chen Xi quite dissatisfied!

"Damn, being a superhero is not a job for humans. I really am not suited to be a hero. I really can't imagine how Spider-Man manages to tirelessly fight crime year after year."

On the rooftop of a building, Chen Xi had just checked his meager Justice Points and couldn't help but admire the old man, Peter Parker.

Old Pa is like that model worker, he is not a single person, but a spirit, and Peter Parker is the union of the two, reaching the unity of knowledge and action as the great sage said!

To be honest, like most Marvel fans, he liked Peter Parker, but he didn't want to be Peter Parker. A hero who, for the sake of his inner justice, ended up down on his luck in middle age, unable to pay for his aunt's medical bills...

Such a hero was heartbreaking. For thousands of years, people have sung praises of suffering, but would they want to experience the hero's suffering themselves?

Only by experiencing it could one understand the bitterness within. Only by experiencing it could one speak with authority. So Chen Xi immediately made a decision.

"System, give me two T-X robots. Two robots should be enough to handle ordinary crime."

Even ordinary Level 2 or even Level 3 Mutants wouldn't necessarily be a match for T-X, after all, the latter was quite formidable.

Low-level Mutants had simple abilities and various flaws. Level 2 or 3 Mutants, like Fireman John and Toadman Hedgehog, could be easily handled by T-X.

"Host, you're such a little genius!"

"So, I'm asking you, is it possible?"

Chen Xi didn't care if you despised him. After all, it didn't matter if it was a white cat or a black cat, as long as it caught the mouse.

The most crucial thing was to confuse the public, allowing him, the unseen boss, to reap the benefits.

"I cannot interfere with the System's rules; any actions within the rules are permitted," the System replied indifferently, as it was merely a program maintaining the System's operation and had no authority to interfere.

Chen Xi ignored it and opened the System shop to purchase two T-X Terminators with stunning female appearances.

Since it was a System purchase, there was naturally no Skynet involved.

However, looking at the perfect faces of the T-Xs, Chen Xi still felt a slight regret. If only they could leak air...
