The mutant leaders immediately contacted Chen Xi.
All these calls were intercepted by Wanda and the others.
"What's going on?"
Wanda, after hanging up yet another call, looked anxiously overhead.
"It's… quite an interesting situation," Chen Xi said.
Asgard, the ancestral land of the Norse gods?
Was this appearing because of him? Or was it merely a coincidence?
When Asgard manifested, Chen Xi could feel a faint fluctuation in the air—but it quickly vanished without a trace.
Humans and mutants alike stared in astonishment at Asgard's sudden appearance.
Those arriving from Asgard were equally curious about this world.
They wandered through the streets.
The strange outfits they wore didn't seem to draw any unusual attention.
People here seemed… familiar with such attire?
"What kind of world is this?" Shiarfi, wearing grass-green battle armor and twisting her snake-like waist, asked with visible awe.
The energy fluctuations here were intense.
Many people here were incredibly powerful.
Her eyes darted constantly, as if she could never take it all in.
Suddenly, she felt a summoning and quickly vanished, returning to the sanctuary.
"Shiarfi, don't wander off! You know we still have much to discuss!"
"Sorry."
She realized her mistake and apologized sincerely.
"We must understand who this Chen Xi is," someone said.
"If he's evil, we eliminate him. If he's righteous, we ignore the voice that summoned us."
They didn't understand why a being strong enough to summon them here would care whether they followed the voice's instructions. Yet even this simple message sparked their curiosity about Chen Xi.
"We could gather some information," Shiarfi suggested carefully. "I wandered through this world briefly and noticed many people with power. They coexist peacefully with humans."
"Perhaps we should inquire further."
Thor's gaze landed on Shiarfi. "This task falls to you."
He quickly shifted his attention elsewhere. "More importantly, we need to understand this world. We must know if we can return to our own world. Remember: we are just, and we must not do anything wrong."
Thor's eyes radiated determination.
They needed to understand the situation before acting recklessly. At the very least, they had to know the nature of those they might confront.
Chen Xi merely came to greet them. Seeing they hadn't decided anything, he left them an address: "You can come find me anytime."
With that, he departed swiftly—arriving and leaving with equal speed.
After Chen Xi left, the hall fell silent for a long while.
"Did you discern anything about this Chen Xi?"
"No, not at all."
Even with so many powerful people present, they could not detect a single detail about him. This revealed a limitation in their abilities.
The mutants were anxious.
"Did the Asgardians come to confront us?"
"The timing of their arrival is suspicious."
"Chen Xi told us not to worry. This matter will soon reach a conclusion… but we must stay vigilant. We must always be ready for battle."
"Let's just watch for now. Even if we end up facing these Asgardians, it shouldn't be too difficult for us."
Because they were strong.
Because Chen Xi was strong.
Though Asgard appeared above them, the mutants were not fearful—only slightly uneasy. Their daily lives remained largely unaffected.
The only change was increased vigilance.
"Seems the voice isn't only directed at my brother. Perhaps it grants other powers… or maybe there's more than one voice?"
Valeria stood atop a building.
Wind howled past her ears as she gazed up at the golden-hued Asgard.
Franklin Richards stood beside her.
"Valeria!"
Franklin called out to his sister.
Valeria paused briefly, then silently turned her gaze toward him. "What is it, brother?"
Looking at Franklin's dejected expression—and his current attire—Valeria immediately sensed what had happened.
"You… failed?"
Valeria knew about her brother's attempts to assassinate Chen Xi. But judging by his calm demeanor, this didn't look like the reaction of someone who had failed.
Had he truly failed, he would be angry or cursing—not so composed and relaxed.
