Chapter 105 - Mechanical Bugs!!

Franklin was furious at being accused of doing nothing.

Some people hid behind others, always speaking without facing the consequences themselves.

He was angry.

So angry that he even considered giving up entirely.

The Planet Devourer noticed that his earlier words had clearly angered Franklin and upset him.

Immediately, he spoke: "It's not your fault you didn't act before… but now his allies are strong. If you don't act soon, you might lose the chance. Surely you don't want your previous efforts to have been for nothing?"

Franklin was deeply frustrated.

In his own world, he was powerful.

He had accomplished many things before.

He thought this task would be easy.

Clearly, he had overestimated his ability and underestimated Chen Xi's.

If Franklin was frustrated, didn't the Planet Devourer have reason to be frustrated too?

To reach the level he had now, he had poured tremendous effort into the process.

But… he could grant some power to Franklin, even partially descend himself.

Although it would weaken his own strength.

The Planet Devourer paused briefly in thought and then acted.

Franklin gained a strong army of mechanical bug minions.

This both delighted him and made him realize just how powerful the person behind him truly was.

That was good, wasn't it?

Suddenly, Franklin felt emboldened, brimming with confidence and audacity.

With these mechanical bugs, what did he have to fear?

After Franklin's conversation with the Planet Devourer ended, Chen Xi's world suddenly came under a fierce attack.

Mechanical bugs appeared from nowhere.

Though few in number, they struck with incredible force.

They ruthlessly swept across the world.

Ordinary humans screamed and ran in panic.

Mutants tried to resist but were no match. Terror filled their eyes.

New weapons and recently enhanced abilities were powerless against these mechanical bugs.

It was as if all their previous efforts had been in vain.

How could one not feel despair?

Buildings burned and crumbled.

Screams echoed everywhere.

It was a one-sided massacre.

Franklin watched this scene with a mix of emotions.

He felt no remorse.

Bloodshed was necessary to achieve his goal.

Chen Xi, hiding in his home the entire time, had left him no choice but to force him out in this way.

The world descended into chaos.

Franklin's cold eyes observed, wishing only for the disorder to grow, hoping Chen Xi would be forced to come out.

Chen Xi did not appear—but his sister, Valeria, did.

"Brother, have you lost your mind?"

Valeria's eyes blazed as she stared at Franklin, disbelief written all over her face.

She never imagined her brother would commit such acts.

"You're too cruel! You're harming innocent humans!"

If Franklin's actions were aimed only at Chen Xi, she might not have agreed, but she could understand his reasoning.

As he said, he would not disappear quietly. He needed to act on Chen Xi to restore the altered trajectory.

Valeria, unable to agree with Franklin's actions, had merely offered a few words of warning before parting ways.

But now…

"I am simply doing what I have always wanted. The sacrifices of humans and mutants are worth it," Franklin said stubbornly.

He felt no wrongdoing. Watching his mechanical bugs wreak havoc, he coldly added, "Once Chen Xi shows up, these bugs will stop their destruction."

No matter what she said, Franklin would not listen. His stubbornness remained.

Valeria's eyes filled with sorrow.

"I cannot allow you to continue. If no one else can stop you, then I will."

A dagger appeared in her hand. Gritting her teeth against the pain in her heart, she charged at Franklin.

"Valeria, my dear sister, why are you so naive? You know you're just an ordinary human. You cannot harm me."

Franklin's voice was cold as he easily blocked her attack with a single hand.

Valeria knew she could never defeat Franklin.

She hoped her actions might make him reconsider.

But Franklin remained unaffected. With just a flick of his finger, Valeria was knocked unconscious.

"You are my sister; I will never harm you. But don't think you can stop me."

After binding her and placing her in a safe spot, Franklin continued advancing with his mechanical bugs toward Chen Xi's location.

"This guy's scared. That's why, despite all this commotion, he still hasn't appeared."

Chen Xi had not appeared—but the mutants launched their attacks.

When the first mechanical bug fell, convulsing and emitting light before self-destructing, the mutants cheered.

"It's dead!"

"Finally!"

In their eyes, their once-powerful enemy had fallen. They had triumphed using their own abilities.

As they attacked the mechanical bugs in waves, Tony Stark looked around, alert.

Susan noticed and asked, "What's wrong, Tony? What are you looking at?"

"Valeria came along with us, but now… she's completely gone. Where did she go? She's just an ordinary human—how could she be wandering around in this chaos?"

Most concerning, even Vision hadn't located her.

Tony Stark had high hopes for this gifted young woman Chen Xi had sent—he wouldn't allow such talent to die in this disaster.
