Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 Psychopath

The DC world is different from the previous Earth. There are too many monsters here. If you want to succeed, you can't rely on normal means. You must have power. Power is the foundation.

Before the age of fourteen, Luke had not yet awakened his superpowers. He was just a teenager with a relatively high IQ. In order to avoid being killed by some unknown minion in the future, he spent a lot of time every day practicing fighting skills.

He learned all the popular fighting techniques in the world, including Bajiquan, Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Muay Thai, and Inch Punch. He even spent half a year learning ancient boxing from an old beggar who had smuggled himself from China. Although it was of no use to him, the old beggar praised him highly and often said that as long as he persisted, he would be able to master the method of internal breathing within five years.

It was then that Luke awakened.

The dark green flame seemed like the fire of the undead from the abyss, bringing a chill that penetrated into the bone marrow.

With super powers, there is no need to practice martial arts, but the skills honed over the past ten years are engraved deep in the memory and become instinct.

There were continuous bangs and sounds in the office, occasionally mixed with screams and the sound of breaking glass.

Everyone outside was nervous and worried. The boss was only seventeen years old and so thin. How could he possibly be Alexander's opponent? Someone whispered,

"Or, let's call the police!"

As he was speaking, bang!

A huge bang came from inside the house, like a hammer hitting a wall.

Everyone's face changed drastically. Cindy couldn't bear it any longer. She gritted her teeth and rushed into the house. She secretly swore in her heart that she would bite off a piece of flesh from that bastard even if it cost her life. She would not let him bully her like this.

As soon as he reached the door, he was stopped by Charlie.

"You'd better not go in."

Cindy said angrily, "Don't stop me, I'm going to fight him."

Charlie was standing in front of the door, looking helpless.

"Instead of worrying about the boss, you should pray that bastard doesn't get killed."

Cindy frowned slightly, very puzzled.

"What's the meaning?"

"You'll know in a moment."

Charlie didn't explain much. After a while, the noise in the office disappeared, the door opened, and Luke in a white shirt appeared at the door.

His face wasn't red, he wasn't out of breath, and he looked like nothing had happened.

What's going on?

Everyone was stunned and looked at Luke with strange eyes. When a few sharp-eyed people saw the blood on his fist, their expressions became even weirder.

Cindy hesitated and said, "Boss, are you...are you okay?"

Luke nodded and said to Charlie,

"Call the hospital. There's a mentally ill patient in my office. He likes to bang his head against the wall and even broke his desk. Tell them to send someone over and take the patient away."

Charlie had known this would happen, so he immediately took out his cell phone and called a nearby hospital.

Everyone looked at each other, their heads full of question marks. Was that bastard named Alexander Rhodes a silver spear with a wax arrow, strong on the outside but weak on the inside, or was the boss a big boss who was hiding something very deep?

Zack took advantage of the break in the bathroom to sneak a peek into the office. When he saw the big man lying on the ground with blood all over his head, he couldn't help but take a deep breath, moved closer to Luke, and whispered,

"Boss, do you know Kung Fu?"

"What kind of Kung Fu?"

Zack gestured with his hands and said, "It's the kind of kung fu you see in Eastern movies, where you can fly over rooftops and walls, skim the water like a dragonfly, and send someone flying dozens of meters with one punch!"

Luke twitched his mouth and said seriously,

"I'm sorry, I don't know the kind of kung fu you're talking about, and I didn't hit anyone. This guy has serious self-harm tendencies. He banged his head against the wall and threatened to pay him mental damages or sue me in court. You're all parties involved. If I receive a court summons in the future, you must testify for me. Do you understand?"

Everyone nodded hurriedly.

I thought to myself that the boss is the boss, and he told lies without blinking an eye.

With Zack leading the way, the others also gathered around. After seeing the scene in the office, their eyes were filled with awe. They used to think that the boss was just a genius second-generation rich man from a wealthy family, but today's scene gave them a new perspective.

Zack still didn't give up, "Boss, are you sure you haven't practiced Eastern witchcraft?"

"Okay, stop talking nonsense and get back to your work! Robert, come to my office."

Following Luke's order, everyone left despite their reluctance, and soon, only Robert Downs was left around.

He stood at the door with a complicated expression on his face, his eyes scanning the scenery inside the house, and a trace of fear flashed across his face.

Alexander, known for his cruelty and brutality, was lying next to the sofa. His scalp was cracked and blood mud covered his entire face, making it almost impossible to tell what he looked like. There were seven or eight bright red bloodstains on the table and the wall. Combined with the bloodstains below, it was easy to imagine how Luke grabbed his head and smashed it against the wall again and again.

For some reason, a chill ran down my back.

Robert avoided the broken glass on the ground, walked into the office, and whispered,

"Boss, do you need me for something?"

Luke poured a glass of cold water and drank it.

"Go get some wet towels from the bathroom and wipe the blood off."

"Got it. I'll go now."

Robert nodded subconsciously, and then he was stunned. I am the company's financial director, how come I am doing the job of a cleaner? A trace of shame and anger flashed in his eyes, but in the end he didn't have the courage to say it out loud.

He took the mop and towel, cleaned the office, and then lowered his voice and said,

"Anything else?"

Without turning around, Luke asked, "Why did Alexander hit someone?"

"It might be because of Batman. Alexander asked the technical department to delete Batman's comments. Zack and the others refused, so they beat them up."

Luke turned around and looked at him quietly for a while before saying,

"Was it his own request, or Sidney's?"

The plain words were without any emotion. Robert suddenly felt a little cold, as if he had stepped from summer to winter, and his voice began to tremble.

"I'm not sure, but I think it should be...it should be Sidney's request."

Luke hummed and continued, "Is there a call from Sidney?"

"have!"

"Then call him and tell him I will meet his request, but not now."

"Got it, I'll go fight now."

Robert nodded quickly, and seeing that the boss had no other instructions, he took the mop and towel and left.

Not long after, people from the hospital arrived, checked Alexander Rhodes' condition, and carried him onto a stretcher.

The doctor asked who the patient's family was. No one responded. Then he asked, "Who's paying for the hospital bills?" Robert was about to say, "I'll do it," but when he looked around, he quickly took back the words.

According to medical procedures in the United States, if no one pays for treatment, the hospital will only provide simple treatment to ensure that the patient does not die.

Given Alexander Rhodes's brain condition, if he is not treated in time, he is likely to become mentally retarded. In other words, Luke was right, he is really a mental patient.
