Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 : Towards the Stars

But the moment they turned the corner, their footsteps stopped in unison.

The next second, their eyes went blank, as if they had seen something incredible.

In the open space at the entrance of the dormitory in the distance, Xiao Wu was sprawled on the ground, looking disheveled.

Immediately after, Wang Sheng dashed up to Tang Chuan, his eyes shining as he looked at him, his voice filled with genuine admiration, saying, "Brother Chuan! You defeated Sister Xiao Wu! From today onwards, you are the boss of our Dormitory Seven!"

The other few work-study students behind him also nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with awe and worship.

Meanwhile, Xiao Wu was still lying on the ground not far away, gritting her teeth, her face full of unwillingness as she stared at Tang Chuan, her fists clenched tightly, looking unconvinced.

Tang Chuan glanced at Wang Sheng, then at Xiao Wu on the ground, his expression indifferent, his tone calm yet with an undeniable sharpness:

"I have no interest in being a boss."

"Xiao Wu, I've already taught you a lesson today."

"If you dare to interfere with my business again, don't blame me for not holding back."

After saying this, Tang Chuan turned and walked towards the dormitory.

The setting sun cast a long shadow of him.

Just as Tang Chuan took a few steps, a furious roar suddenly came from behind him, through gritted teeth:

"You just wait, Tang Chuan! Sooner or later, I will defeat you!"

Hearing this, Tang Chuan paused slightly, but did not turn back. He simply raised his right hand slowly and waved it gently behind him, his tone calm as he said:

"Enemies defeated by my hand are never regarded as opponents by me. I give you time to catch up, until you can no longer see me!"

A moment later, his figure disappeared from everyone's sight.

Watching this scene, Wang Sheng and the others turned red, their shoulders shaking uncontrollably as they tried to suppress their laughter.

Finally, Wang Sheng couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out laughing: "Hahahaha… Sister Xiao Wu also has her moments of being taught a lesson, Brother Chuan's kick just now was absolutely brilliant!"

His laughter was like opening a floodgate; the other work-study students immediately covered their stomachs and laughed out loud.

"What, what are you laughing at?!"

Suddenly, an angry shout exploded!

Xiao Wu suddenly looked up, her face burning with rage, her eyes practically spitting fire, glaring at Wang Sheng and his group like an agitated rabbit.

"Try laughing again?! Do you believe I'll beat you so badly your own mother won't recognize you?!"

Hearing this, Wang Sheng and the others shivered, their expressions immediately changed, they forcibly suppressed their smiles, and shook their heads like rattles:

"Not laughing anymore, not laughing anymore, not laughing anymore… Sister Xiao Wu is mighty, Sister Xiao Wu is invincible…"

Xiao Wu snorted fiercely, turned around, stomped her foot, and walked angrily towards the dormitory.

After her figure completely disappeared at the stairwell, Wang Sheng and the others held it in for a full ten seconds before finally unable to resist, they plonked down on the ground and burst into laughter again:

"That was so satisfying, that kick, I can laugh for three days!"

"Hahahaha—"

The next second, everyone else also joined in the uproarious laughter. For a moment, the entire entrance of the work-study student dormitory instantly became a joyous gathering.

From this moment on, Tang Chuan's name completely spread among the work-study students of Noding Academy. The fierce individual who kicked Xiao Wu flying had emerged from Dormitory Seven.

… … …

At Noding Academy at night, the moonlight was like a wash, silver light scattered on the tree-lined path, a gentle breeze rustled the leaves.

Under a large locust tree in a corner of the academy's back garden, Xiao Wu and Tang San walked side by side. The former was currently pouting, arms crossed, kicking stones by her feet, looking utterly dejected.

Tang San walked quietly beside Xiao Wu. Seeing her unhappy face, he couldn't help but ask:

"Xiao Wu, what's wrong with you today? Who made you angry?"

Xiao Wu suddenly stopped and then told Tang San what had happened today.

As her voice fell, Tang San was stunned, his eyes full of shock:

"What did you say? You were… defeated by my brother?"

"It's true! I didn't take him seriously at first, who knew that guy was incredibly fast, I couldn't hit him at all!" Xiao Wu stamped her foot in anger, her voice carrying a hint of unwillingness and shame.

"In the end, I even used a spirit skill, but he was still able to use Blue Silver Grass to tie me up like a dumpling, and then… he even kicked me!"

By the end of her sentence, Xiao Wu turned her face away, pouting and looking wronged.

Tang San was stunned for a long while before he recovered, his brows slowly furrowing as he whispered, "My brother… only has Innate spirit power of level one."

"You are a proper Spirit Master, with a spirit ring and spirit skills, how could you lose?"

Xiao Wu also nodded dejectedly: "Yeah, I find it strange too! His Blue Silver Grass seems especially tough, and he doesn't even have a spirit ring, he's simply a freak."

Hearing this, Tang San's eyes gradually became serious. He kept replaying his brother's performance over the past few days in his mind, and couldn't help but ponder to himself:

"Could it be… brother has been hiding something from me all along?"

An unprecedented sense of curiosity and vigilance quietly grew within him.

Without speaking immediately, Tang San simply tilted his head slightly, looking at the night sky, at the cold, clear full moon, his eyes gradually deepening.

"If that's truly the case, then I need to find an opportunity—"

… … …

A month passed in a flash, and life at Noding Academy was far from leisurely, but Tang Chuan was slowly realizing his plan amidst the busyness.

Every day, he attended classes, did work-study student chores during the day, and in the evenings, he Cultivated spirit power while setting up a stall to roast rabbits outside his dormitory.

These days, he had hunted over a hundred wild rabbits, skillfully processing, marinating, and roasting them. The aroma was so pervasive that the entire Dormitory Seven almost became a rabbit meat research base.

Relying on this inconspicuous rabbit meat stall, Tang Chuan quietly accumulated a small sum of money, and now, the opportunity had finally arrived.

Noding Academy was on holiday for a few days.

For the students, it was a time for rest, but for Tang Chuan, it was a rare window to leave the academy. He wanted to use this time to go to the Star Dou Great Forest.

Early that morning, he woke up early and quickly tidied himself.

Then, he put on a new grey cloth long gown he had bought at the market, put on a hat, deliberately keeping a low profile, and quietly left through the academy's side gate.

When Tang Chuan arrived at the market outside Nuoding City, it was just dawn, and the streets were not yet bustling. He then skillfully found the carriage service he had scouted earlier and rented a sturdy two-wheeled carriage.

The coachman was an old man in his fifties named Li Bo, with a rough face and few words, appearing very steady and reliable.

"Destination, the outer perimeter of the Star Dou Great Forest. Avoid the main roads, take fewer official routes, and try not to attract attention," Tang Chuan said calmly, handing over a small bag of copper Soul Coins.

Li Bo took the copper Soul Coins, looked him up and down a few times, didn't ask any more questions, and simply nodded: "Alright. We can get out of Nanling before dark, then two more days of travel will get us to the edge of the Star Dou Great Forest. There's a small town there where you can stay."

Hearing this, Tang Chuan nodded, gently lifted the curtain, and sat inside the carriage.
