In the room, while Yuto slept peacefully in his bed, the tip of his tousled hair began to glow with a soft blue light, like waves spreading through the air, quickly vanishing into nothing.
This continued for a couple of hours until finally, the light at the tip of Yuto's hair turned into a glaring green and slowly faded away, until everything returned to normal.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not all beings slept when the moon rose; there were some who had no interest in sleeping at all.
There, on top of Yuto's house roof, a ball of black and white fur simply observed the surroundings lazily.
Rolling, twisting, stretching as if it were a yoga routine practiced so much that it could be done unconsciously.
Crick
The soft cracking of bones sounded as it moved into slightly more complicated positions.
Finally, it meowed with an air of satisfaction, as if it had done a good job, and lay back down lazily to enjoy the moon, occasionally stretching out a claw at the presence of a bird that came near or passed by.
It stayed that way until its little ears twitched, pointing toward something that caught the feline's attention.
Fishhh
The cat did not know what that sound was, but when it turned its head in the direction it had come from, it noticed something glowing, appearing and disappearing along one of the alleys around its home.
Full of curiosity, the cat headed toward that alley with the shining thing that kept calling for its attention.
Walking across the roof, leaping twice across some walls, and after a short walk, it arrived at the alley and began to search for the shining thing it had seen from above.
It searched and searched but only found broken glass and some trash bins, which it knew were no good. Thinking it had found something interesting, in the end it was disappointed and turned back toward home.
"Meowww" Momo meowed with a slight touch of sadness.
But as it turned around, something grabbed it by the scruff of the neck.
Startled, Momo began to thrash and tried to scratch whoever was holding it, without much success. It could only give a few soft furry swats with its tail against the abdomen of its attacker, without any real effect.
Momo began to feel its strength fade as the cold of the alley seeped into its body, leaving it immobile at the mercy of its aggressor.
In its state of alert, Momo began to notice subtle details of the alley it had ignored in its search for toys, like the many small but fine cuts along the walls and floor, as if some beast with many claws had crawled around leaving an obvious trail that Momo, in its endless curiosity, had completely ignored.
Momo continued to observe its surroundings intently, but did not realize that its aggressor was turning it around. When it did notice the world spinning, it found itself face to face with a shadow stretching out from the wall with glowing eyes it could not distinguish, even with its slit pupils.
They remained in absolute silence, the only sound being the howling of the wind.
The shadow then moved its grip from the scruff to the cat's neck.
Momo felt its air being cut off. It growled and cried as best it could, but its body no longer responded, and its vision began to blur.
"Just sleep, little cat, just sleep and forget everything as if it were a dream," said a neutral voice, lacking any clear features.
The world for Momo seemed to turn into fog, constantly appearing and fading until…
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another pair of hands grabbed it by the scruff, though this time much more carefully, with another hand holding its hind legs. One of its "owners," though it did not really understand that concept, the one with hair as white as flowing water.
"What's wrong, Momo?" Yuto asked with concern. "Why are you running as if you've become a marathon contestant? Did you dream of chasing some kind of flying tuna or what?" Yuto asked more to himself than to Momo, trying to guess at the thoughts of his cat.
Clink
Yuto turned around, hearing the sound of the clock marking a new hour.
Looking at the time, with a hint of hurry, Yuto placed Momo back on her cushion where she had been sleeping and said, "Well, I'll tell Mom later so they can take you to the vet to see what's wrong, but I have to go now, or I'll be late for school, so goodbye."
Yuto checked quickly that Momo's bowls still had food and water. Since they did, he proceeded to leave and locked the door behind him.
Only the sound of the door closing was heard.
And there Momo stayed, confused about what had happened, whether it had been real or just a dream. In the end, she only meowed in a tired tone, stretched, and went to see what food had been left for her.
Momo hoped it would be good tuna after a long day of guarding the house.

Meanwhile, Yuto felt strangely refreshed for some reason, he thought as he boarded a train at the station. Though Yuto knew he could walk to school in less than half an hour, he decided to take the train just in case. Considering what had happened yesterday, it would not surprise him if either a villain appeared on the way to school or if he got so hungry he fainted, Yuto joked to himself.
Holding onto one of the train straps, he quickly checked his things to make sure he had everything.
School supplies… check. ..Books… check....Some extra food for lunch… check. Ticket… check.
Once he was sure everything was ready, he took out his phone to pass the time.
What Yuto did not realize or had forgotten was the state of his phone.
So as soon as he turned it on, a loud ad blared out:
|DO YOU THINK YOU ARE USELESS? THEN GET A REAL JOB WITH US AT….|
Reacting quickly, Yuto shoved his phone away, but by then he had already attracted plenty of attention on the train.
Not particularly happy with the sudden commotion Yuto had caused, people stared.
Nervously, Yuto tried to apologize.
"U-um, so-sorry for the noise," he muttered with a bow, his voice getting quieter each moment, until it was more like the fluttering of a mosquito's wings than his voice.
This went on for a couple of minutes until he dared to raise his head and saw that, at this point, no one was paying him any attention anymore. Yuto sighed in relief at having gotten out of that one.
Then he began scolding himself for forgetting about his infected phone, swearing that after school he would deal with it before he embarrassed himself again.
But while Yuto was lost in thought, he heard the train announcement.
[ARRIVAL at station 161, please disembark if you are getting off at station 161]
Yuto stopped daydreaming and began preparing to get off and run straight to Hath Secondary School. He waited a few moments until the train began to slow down.
Fiuu
The sound of the doors opening and the outside air rushing in, while dozens of people entered and left the train, including Yuto.
As lines formed to pass through the ticket gates, Yuto naturally pulled out his ticket, mentally preparing himself for the sprint he would have to make to arrive on time at school.
Little by little, the line moved forward, feeling like an eternity for Yuto because of his anxiety.
Until finally, it was his turn. He passed his ticket and hurried quickly toward the stairs, heading straight for his school.
