"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 171: Led Astray
Draconis never gave a full explanation, but no one minded. Some things—like Transcendence, or his Absolute Dominion—were simply out of reach for most. By now, everyone understood: you don't force the impossible.
"Well, I guess that wraps things up." Azazel stretched, then turned to Rias, whose territory this technically was. "Mind if I stick around in town for a while?"
Rias smiled. "That's fine. Actually, there's something I'd like your help with."
Sirzechs's eyes swept over Rias's peerage. They were all brimming with potential—just hadn't had the chance to fully unlock it yet. Now was the perfect time.
"No problem," Azazel replied, not even asking for details. "I'm beat, so I'll head out." With that, he vanished in a flare of teleportation magic.
Before Michael could return to Heaven, Draconis called out, "Michael, could I ask a favor?"
"Of course. If it's within my power."
"It's about Asia and Xenovia." Draconis's smile was gentle. "Now that the peace treaty's signed, could you let them keep praying to God?"
Those two girls—so pure it was almost painful. Maybe that's what made them so lovable, so radiant. Both had been through hell before becoming devils, but their faith never wavered. As devils, though, prayer only brought them pain and migraines.
Draconis had watched it all, and now was the perfect moment to ask Michael to fix it.
Michael paused, glancing at Asia and Xenovia. He knew them well—once among the most devoted believers. Fate could be cruel.
"Asia, Xenovia."
"Yes!" they chimed together.
"Even though God no longer exists, do you still wish to pray?"
Asia's voice trembled with emotion. "Yes… I want to keep praying…"
"Me too," Xenovia nodded.
Irina stepped forward, a little sheepish. "I misunderstood you both before. I'm really sorry."
"I share responsibility for what happened," Michael said softly.
Sirzechs smiled. "Let this be another symbol of peace."
Michael nodded. "Two devils who can pray without harm… I think that's a good thing."
He smiled, his agreement clear. "I'll adjust the system once I'm back in Heaven. You two come with me—Irina will bring you home tomorrow."
Asia and Xenovia lit up. "Yes!"
Asia, the pure little nun, threw herself into Draconis's arms. "Draconis, I—I get to go to Heaven!"
Draconis couldn't help laughing as he patted her golden head. "Take lots of photos, okay?"
Heaven, huh… He'd never been himself. Not that he cared much, but Asia and Xenovia were born for it—Heaven had always been their dream.
"Mmh! Draconis, I love you most!" Asia shouted, and in front of everyone, planted a kiss right on his cheek.
"Ah, Asia…" Rias started to protest, but the words died in her throat. She'd been holding back, only for Asia to beat her to it.
"Ara ara, Asia's bold," Akeno laughed.
Draconis smiled, wiping the lipstick from his cheek. "Alright, don't keep Michael waiting. Go on—hurry back."
He turned to Xenovia. "You'll be able to pray as much as you want now."
"Y-yes… that's right." Xenovia met his eyes, her cheeks coloring. So gentle… No wonder the president and Asia and the others were drawn to him.
She suddenly understood Draconis's appeal. Strong, confident, gentle, reliable—he shone so brightly…
…
With everything settled and the hour late, everyone headed home.
A flash of magic, and Draconis found himself back in his own house—with Rias, of course. Whenever he was home, she inevitably ended up in his bed.
Back home, Draconis felt the weariness settle in. "Today was… a lot."
"Yeah. I never expected so many twists," Rias agreed.
"At least it's over." Draconis smiled. "I'm grabbing a bath. Finally, some real rest."
He slipped off his shoes and headed for the bathroom.
"Wait for me!" Rias called, following after him.
A few minutes later, the tub was full. Hot water spilled from the faucet as Draconis and Rias soaked, limbs entwined, both visibly relaxed.
"It's a bit cramped with two," Rias laughed.
"Well, the tub's built for one," Draconis replied. "Not everyone builds castles just for a bigger bath."
Rias considered—since she spent so much time here, maybe she should expand the house? It had been left by Draconis's parents, though. Would he even agree?
Draconis grinned, hands sliding over Rias. "Honestly, I think what's making it cramped is right here."
"Ah…" Rias moaned softly, laughing as she pressed against him. "You've gotten naughty, haven't you?"
"Hey, it's not my fault. Even Asia—the pure little nun—demands attention every night now. That's your bad influence, Rias."
He laughed, tossing the blame.
"Asia's like that because of you, you know. And it's been days since you pampered me…" Rias wrapped her arms around his neck. "Now that we finally have time, let me spoil you properly."
She leaned in, kissing him deeply…
