Chapter 208 - 《DXD: Transfer Student》Chapter 207: Identity Exposed

"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 207: Identity Exposed

Once they'd put some distance between themselves and the party, Yor finally let go of Draconis Yi's hand, exhaling in relief.

"Finally… it's over."

She felt more drained than after a night's work as an assassin.

Draconis Yi couldn't help but chuckle. His gaze, just for a moment, flicked to a shadowed corner of the street—subtle, but sharp.

There it was again.

From the moment they'd left, he'd sensed someone watching them. Outwardly, he kept his cool, turning to Yor with a gentle smile.

"Wait here for two minutes. I'll be right back."

"Huh? Okay…"

Yor had no idea what he was up to, but she nodded, trusting him without hesitation.

A heartbeat later, she watched as Draconis Yi simply vanished into thin air.

"…?"

Yor stood there, stunned, before it dawned on her.

Oh, right. He's a demon.

Across the street, a man feigned interest in the scenery, but his eyes kept drifting to Yor and Draconis Yi.

But in the blink of an eye, the man beside the Thorn Princess was gone.

He froze, scanning the area—nothing.

How did he disappear so fast?

"Looking for me?"

The words came from right behind him. The man's hair stood on end, cold sweat slicking his back.

How…?

He hadn't sensed a thing, and now the stranger was behind him.

He started to turn, but Draconis Yi's hand settled on his shoulder—casual, friendly, like old pals out for a stroll.

"You've been tailing us since we left, haven't you?"

Draconis Yi's voice was calm, but the man was sweating bullets. He forced himself to steady his nerves.

"You're mistaken… I mean no harm…"

Draconis Yi gave a faint smile.

"I know. If you did, you wouldn't be talking right now."

He could feel the lack of hostility, but caution demanded a closer look.

"So, why keep us under surveillance?"

"…Just professional curiosity. I'm the one who usually cleans up after the Thorn Princess. I've never seen her with a man before, so I was debating whether to report to the boss… uh, our leader."

Draconis Yi raised an eyebrow.

"You think I'm a threat? Does your crew really police your members' private lives?"

"No, no… It's just, the Thorn Princess has a job tonight, so I came early to prep. After she's done, cleaners like me handle the aftermath. Running into you was pure coincidence…"

The man rattled off his explanation, cold sweat pouring down. Draconis Yi's presence was suffocating—just the weight of his hand on the man's shoulder made him feel he was one wrong move away from death.

Draconis Yi tilted his head, reading the man's fear and honesty.

"Alright. If it's a misunderstanding, let's leave it at that. Sorry, but I'll be taking this memory."

He spoke almost to himself, then quietly invoked a spell—altering the man's memories.

In an instant, Draconis Yi vanished. The man stared after him, dazed, suddenly aware of a cold sweat and a faint bruise on his finger.

How did that happen?

He couldn't remember.

Something wasn't right.

He'd been brainwashed—Common Sense Alteration.

The Thorn Princess's companion was definitely trouble.

Angel? Demon? Fallen angel?

Whatever he was, the man knew he'd been hit by supernatural powers.

He didn't linger. He bolted, reporting everything to the shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper responded immediately, alarmed.

"That's a demon, and a powerful one. Leave him alone. He's technically our ally now. The memory wipe was just to avoid complications. All intel on him is sealed in the highest security archive."

"…Understood."

The man shuddered. The Thorn Princess's seemingly harmless companion was a monster in disguise.

To be approached by someone like that—and to have your memories erased—was terrifying and awe-inspiring in equal measure.

Meanwhile, Draconis Yi had no idea his identity had been flagged by the National Security Bureau.

He only knew the watcher was one of Yor's colleagues.

Yor didn't ask what he'd been up to, either. She was refreshingly direct—she'd promised to wait two minutes, and she waited exactly two minutes, never questioning, never prying.

"Sorry to keep you."

Draconis Yi smiled. "Miss Yor, now that our fake boyfriend arrangement is done, shall we finalize the contract?"

"Oh, right—the contract…"

Yor perked up, nodding solemnly.

"I'd be glad to sign with you. Thank you so much for everything today!"

"It's mutual. Let's head back and get started."

"Okay!"

With the terms settled, Draconis Yi felt a rare sense of satisfaction. They returned to Yor's home, and he began preparing the magic circle for the ritual.

Yor was perfectly cooperative, following every instruction.

Draconis Yi's performance tonight had earned her complete trust.

Then, something unexpected happened—

When the contract was sealed, Draconis Yi realized it was another faith contract.

A pleasant surprise.

He hadn't expected Yor to be such a high-quality client.

Maybe it was that airheaded innocence?

People said Yor was easy to trust.

Draconis Yi couldn't help but grin. All his hard work had been worth it.
