Wells sensed Caitlin's somewhat intense attitude and stepped in to mediate.

Dr. Wells said kindly, "Barry, Caitlin means that your body is a treasure, containing countless medical, vaccine, genetic, cellular, and other secrets. We need to research and discover more, which will benefit all of humanity, or perhaps reduce diseases, genetic illnesses, and even solve various cancers. The optimization or evolution of humanity might be deeply buried within your body."

"Once anything happens to you, it will be a global loss. Now you're risking all of this, just because you want to be a hero? Do you understand?"

Barry was silent for a moment, then continued, "Lin Li can also help you with research. Both he and I gained our abilities after being struck by lightning."

Caitlin continued, "Lin Li is different. His cellular genes have already mutated; he is an independent organism, possessing none of the characteristics of ordinary humans. He no longer falls within the scope of humanity. The lightning transformed him into an anomaly."

"Only you are special. Your cellular genes might still be applicable to ordinary humans."

Barry's lips moved, but he couldn't speak, unable to refute. This great righteousness struck his kind heart. If he were to act stubbornly, it would instead cause loss to himself and to the world.

Barry lowered his gaze, feeling very down, his eyes glistening with tears. He slowly said, "When I was 11, my mother was killed."

Everyone fell silent, listening to Barry's story in unison.

"It was late at night. I was woken up by a sound. I went downstairs, and then…"

"I saw something like lightning, surrounding my mother."

"There was a figure inside, and he killed my mother."

"The police arrested my father, thinking he murdered my mother, and imprisoned him in Iron Heights Prison."

"Everyone, the police, the psychiatrists, no one believed us."

"For fourteen years, I've been investigating any abnormal cases and people, searching for miracles."

"Until yesterday, when I gained super speed, I believed that others must have also gained miracles."

"Perhaps there are others who gained super speed, and among them might be the murderer of my mother."

"I will fight crime and not let such people harm others. I want to find out who killed my mother and clear my father's name. I will not give up."

Kind, righteous, and stubborn, when Barry made a decision, no one could change his mind, at least not the people present.

Everyone present fell silent.

Lin Li heavily patted Barry's shoulder, hugged him, and then said, "I support you. I can see your righteous and kind heart. As I said before, if you need any help, I will help you."

Barry nodded and hugged Lin Li.

Dr. Wells took off his glasses, looked directly at Barry, and said, "Barry, you might be the only one with super speed. Fourteen years ago, there was no particle accelerator, no particle accelerator explosion, nothing like it is today…"

"Not necessarily…"

Lin Li interrupted Wells, hesitating, his lips moving, but in the end, he said nothing.

He fully conveyed, 'I know there's another speedster, but I don't know who it is. To avoid causing too much trouble, it's not suitable to say right now, so I won't.' He just hesitated and said nothing.

The others were intrigued by Lin Li. Barry even gripped Lin Li's arm, looking at him with eager anticipation and nervousness.

Wells narrowed his eyes further, his heart pounding, staring at him intently.

"Not necessarily, after all, what happened to Barry and me is too miraculous, anything is possible."

With great difficulty, Lin Li managed to pull out a vague statement.

The others, whose hearts had been on edge, relaxed, all feeling like they wanted to slap Lin Li.

Barry's face clearly showed disappointment.

After that, the others neither explicitly agreed with Barry nor strongly opposed him, maintaining an ambiguous and indecisive attitude.

Then they started packing up instruments and other things to return to Star Labs.

Due to sadness and disappointment, Barry had already run off to who knows where.

Lin Li helped unload all the instruments and placed them according to Cisco's instructions.

In the control room, he found Dr. Wells.

Lin Li, with a thoughtful and somewhat troubled, perplexed expression, said to Wells, "Dr. Wells, I want to talk to you."

He then excused himself from Cisco and Caitlin, and the two went to a hallway.

Lin Li solemnly said, "Dr. Wells, if someone like Barry, possessing super speed, appears, how should he be dealt with?"

Wells, it was time for his acting performance.

Wells did not answer directly but asked Lin Li back, puzzled, "Is there another person with super speed like Barry?"

Lin Li said expressionlessly, "No, I was just asking."

Dr. Wells smiled appropriately and said, "Barry and you are both miracles. How could there possibly be another? If there were, then just contain his speed."

Lin Li cursed inwardly, 'Easier said than done.' Once Reverse-Flash or Barry enters Speed Force mode, they possess extreme speed and Speed Force thinking. That kind of thinking is definitely stronger than Lin Li's super-speed thinking, so powerful that everything appears to be still.

Any attack would be seen clearly in advance, unless it was a sneak attack when the speedster exited Speed Force mode, which might work.

In fact, in the TV series, The Flash often exited Speed Force mode and was then carelessly ambushed by enemies.

He was even successfully ambushed by ordinary people, which Lin Li couldn't understand.

After all, even Barry, when not in Speed Force mode, still had the physical limits of an ordinary human. To be defeated by an ordinary person like that, Lin Li could only conclude that Barry's fighting ability was incredibly poor.

Lin Li first realized how difficult speedsters were to deal with. There were too few foolishly head-on speedsters like Barry. He suddenly felt that speedsters were truly overpowered. If they wanted to fight, they fought. If they wanted to leave, you definitely couldn't catch them. You had to set a trap in a specific scenario, otherwise, if they dragged you along, you'd be like a puppet on strings, flying along.

Independent of the four fundamental forces.

No wonder there's a martial arts saying: 'In martial arts, only speed is supreme.'

It was not easy to get useful information from Wells.

The next few days, nothing much happened.

Barry came every day for check-ups and to be studied by them. He secretly told Lin Li with great joy how many criminal gangs he had busted and how many people he had saved. However, he also had his troubles. His biggest current trouble was that he had already burned through seven or eight pairs of shoes and over a dozen sets of clothes, which made him very depressed. He felt he needed a set of anti-friction, fire-resistant, and high-temperature-resistant clothes, which Lin Li strongly agreed with.

The biggest activity at Star Labs was Lin Li's. He cleared out a training ground in the basement, spending five hours a day studying science on his tablet, two hours researching various martial arts online, and then set up dozens of sandbags to practice close-quarters combat. He also practiced controlling electromagnetic fields, memorizing and distinguishing each type of magnetic field, trained his physical strength, and practiced electrical energy. Doing this every day greatly benefited him.

Late that night, it was already two in the morning. After showering, his electromagnetic sense detected someone in the research lab. It was Cisco. He could now accurately sense the difference in each person's magnetic field.

Still in the research lab this late? Although Cisco loved inventing, this was a bit too crazy for a few days straight. He was in the lab almost every night until two in the morning. What was worth researching so diligently?

Lin Li decided to investigate. He walked directly to the research lab door and called out, "Cisco!"

"Ah!"

Cisco jumped, his face a little pale.
