Chapter 19 - 19

A bottle of tennessee whiskey… and two packs of marlboro, menthol flavor."

Jessica Jones slapped the money onto the convenience store counter, speaking with some impatience.

But the clerk didn't rush to bring her the items just because she'd slapped down a few large bills; instead, he held out his hand to Jessica Jones.

"Uh, ma'am, please show some identification."

The clerk's request was normal; buying alcohol and tobacco requires adult identification.

Jessica Jones, a high school student, was eighteen, but America's legal adult age of twenty-one was still a ways off.

But it didn't matter; she had half a dozen fake IDs in her pocket.

Jessica Jones slapped her ID onto the counter, then walked over to the alcohol shelf.

"Tsk, why is it all Irish… Oh, I see it, there you are."

Jessica Jones found her favorite, tennessee whiskey, tucked away among the many Irish whiskeys on the shelf.

She twisted open the bottle, tilted her head back, and took a swig.

"Puh-ha! Refreshing!"

She had already paid, so opening it in front of the counter was allowed.

But, wouldn't you know it, at that very moment, a small incident occurred in the convenience store.

"Hey! buddy/bro! Be smart and hand over all the money; I don't want to send you to the hospital or the morgue!"

A burly White man stood in front of the counter, holding a sharp folding knife to the clerk's neck.

Jessica Jones, standing in front of the shelf, merely glanced over indifferently, her body pausing slightly… then she took another drink of alcohol.

She knew very well that with her abilities, she could easily beat this scoundrel into a bloody mess his own mother wouldn't recognize.

But she didn't want to get involved.

She was selfish and had never understood what people called "help."

Especially that guy named Peter Parker at school; she hated those sunny types who spouted righteousness and morals.

However, the clerk behind the counter didn't know that the woman drinking alcohol could easily lift a car and throw it.

He could only tremble as he took out all the cash from the counter, while trying to use his eyes to signal Jessica Jones to escape quickly.

"Damn scoundrel, what are you looking at!?"

The highly strung robber keenly caught that glance.

He turned his head and saw Jessica Jones holding the alcohol bottle.

Discovering there was another woman in the store, his fear and guilt instantly transformed into savagery.

Plus, Jessica Jones was a beautiful, dark-featured girl, looking especially stunning under the dim lights, which made the robber involuntarily lick his lips.

The lewdness and contempt in his eyes made Jessica Jones frown.

She suddenly felt like acting.

But the thought merely flashed through her mind.

Before she could even take some parts off this scoundrel, the convenience store's front door chimed again, signaling a new customer.

Everyone present was stunned, and the next moment, the robber, who had been planning to rob both money and person, was instantly knocked unconscious by a simple, direct punch.

A Republic man in a FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) uniform suit shook his hand, then looked up at the stunned Jessica Jones.

"Skipping the opening ceremony? Do you have to be so rebellious, Student Jessica Jones?"

"How do you know my name… No, who are you?"

"No, I'm here to catch you skipping class, big sis, why are you asking questions? I want to ask you, Jessica Jones, what is your current status?"

"None of your business."

"None of my business!?"

Li Chengfeng almost choked at that moment; it was impossible to talk properly with such a problematic girl. Just opening his mouth made him feel like he was about to be angered to death.

"I'll reiterate: first day of school! Skipping class! And it's the FBI Academy! You've got some nerve! Do you think this is your high school?"

"You're from the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation)?"

"Isn't that obvious? Not only am I from the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), I'm also your teacher! Otherwise, why would I bother if you skip class or not! Please, for goodness sake! Come with me now!"

Li Chengfeng felt so tired in his heart, he would never love again. Was being a teacher really this difficult?

My middle school teachers from my previous life, I'm sorry! You guys are truly amazing, still able to be kind and gentle with a troublemaker like me.

"FBI Academy? That hero role-playing program? Sorry, I'm not interested in that kind of thing."

Jessica Jones walked past Li Chengfeng without hesitation, grabbing the two packs of marlboro from the counter as she passed, and also kicked the robber on the ground.

Even in his unconscious state, he let out a muffled groan of pain.

Then she was about to leave the convenience store.

"Well, well, well, as an underage high school student, you're proficient in smoking and drinking. Have you permed your hair yet?"

Li Chengfeng teased her while reaching out to intercept the two packs of cigarettes.

But Jessica Jones's toughness as a delinquent girl truly opened Li Chengfeng's eyes.

She directly stuffed the two packs of cigarettes into her sports bra.

Actually, that was fine; it was her natural advantage, nothing to criticize.

But Jessica Jones's mistake was that she shouldn't have provocatively thrust forward like that.

And then… Li Chengfeng raised his hand at the last second to avoid making a mistake.

But it turned into an uppercut.

"Uh, Jessica Jones, believe me, this is a misunderstanding, this is a freaking misunderstanding!"

"Go to hell!"

The force of this punch wasn't very damaging to Jessica Jones, but it was extremely insulting.

At this moment, Jessica Jones was like a kitten whose precious tail had been accidentally stepped on by a passerby; although she bared her claws and tried to look fierce, what she displayed was strangely adorable.

Of course, it was only visually adorable, thanks to her good looks.

But if Li Chengfeng remembered correctly, the clawing "kitten" in front of him could theoretically lift objects weighing over twenty-five tons!

And that wasn't even the limit!

She could probably tear apart a Mark 3 armor if she landed a full set of cat punches.

Li Chengfeng had no choice but to dodge quickly, but he didn't fight back.

He was in the wrong.

He was supposed to be catching a student skipping class, but to avoid a vital spot, he ended up giving Jessica Jones a big uppercut… Although Jessica Jones was strong enough, her speed and agility were still inferior to Li Chengfeng's.

But their exaggerated fight didn't last too long.

Li Chengfeng glanced at the stunned clerk, knowing that he couldn't continue this nonsense in front of ordinary people.

So he kicked Jessica Jones's blocking arms.

While she was busy adjusting her balance, Li Chengfeng pulled out his FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation)-issued taser.

Given that Jessica Jones, in addition to her extremely high physical strength, also had a certain degree of self-healing ability.

So Li Chengfeng didn't hesitate to turn the power to maximum, firing a shot that completely depleted the stored electricity.

The kick made Jessica Jones stumble back a few steps; when she looked up again, she saw that Li Chengfeng had already pulled the trigger.

The next moment, the World went silent.

"You… bastard… teacher…"

Jessica Jones struggled to curse Li Chengfeng before finally passing out completely.

Which completely scared Li Chengfeng silly.

Only barely knocked her out? That's ridiculous!

Logically, a full-power shot could instantly knock out an adult African elephant.

After putting away the taser, Li Chengfeng hoisted the occasionally twitching Jessica Jones onto his shoulder and walked out, meeting the convenience store clerk's wide-eyed gaze.

Li Chengfeng left the convenience store like that… then poked half his body back in to instruct.

"Mr. Clerk, please remember that all the damage in the store was done by that robber. FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) personnel will be here shortly to assess the damage and provide compensation."

"Other than that, you saw nothing."
