Chapter 5 - Mia

The day broke and Alex was woken up by a banging on the door before the door opened. A man in tribal clothes walked in. He was tall, well-built, with neck-length black hair.

He walked to Alex, whose eyes were just opening, and grabbed him by the shirt. He pulled him up, forcing him to stand.

"You outsider, the chief wants to speak with you," he said.

"Oh, is that why I'm getting dragged?" Alex asked, and the man frowned.

"I don't know why Lady Imani is so interested in you, but you better stay away from her," he growled, leaning close as he did.

"Tsk, someone woke up jealous," Alex said, and his words pissed off the man. He threw a punch.

"Stop it, Luka," a lady's voice rang from outside.

'Luka, ohhh, he was the one that interrupted yesterday. Makes sense, I can tell he has some feelings for Imani, hehe,' Alex thought.

"Captain, he spoke to me disrespectfully," Luka said.

"That's enough, Luka. Even if he is an outsider, he is Lady Imani's guest and from here on out will be treated as such," the lady said.

"But Captain—"

"That will be enough, Luka. Leave," she said, her eyes stern, leaving no room for argument.

Luka gave Alex one last cold look and then walked away, leaving the room.

"Thank you," Alex said.

"There is nothing to thank me for, you are the young lady's guest," she said and walked closer. Alex took a good look at her. She was a tall lady with caramel brown skin, her figure stunning, a slim waist with toned abs, and very seductive curves. Her bosom pressed against her bra, struggling to stay inside.

Her eyes were dark as the night, and so was her hair, flowing beautifully from her shoulders to her back.

His eyes lingered on her for a few seconds before he tore them away, not wanting to look like a creep here.

He walked closer to her, took a deep breath, and then did what he had been planning all this while. He activated Aphrodisiac, using her as the target.

The first few seconds nothing happened, but then he noticed a twitch in her legs. He looked up and saw her look away, not wanting to meet his gaze.

"Let's go," she said and started walking away.

Alex smiled when he saw this. It was working. Now he wanted to see the extent of this ability. He slipped up to her as she stood beside him. She jumped a little when she noticed him that close.

"Mhm-hmm." She cleared her throat and looked away. His smile grew and so did his confidence. He decided to make small talk while they walked.

"He called you captain. Are you a warrior?" he asked.

"Yes, I mostly train the younger ones to defend themselves and provide for the tribe," she said, still looking away.

"Wow, they are lucky to have such a beautiful teacher," he said.

She turned her head to look at him when he said that. Her eyes met his, then she looked away immediately again.

"Flattery from an outsider? Do you really think that will help you?" she asked.

"Well, it's not flattery when it's true," he said with a smile.

She almost turned again but forced herself to keep looking ahead. The skill was more effective the more he flattered her.

She took a deep breath. "There are many women more beautiful than me. Lady Imani and the chief are examples of that," she said.

'Hmm, she is playing along.'

"Well, I have seen Imani, and yes, I said you are beautiful. Two truths can exist. Imani is beautiful, and so are you," he said.

His words made her stop for a moment. She looked at him closely. "You have a way with words, outsider, but I can't trust your kind," she said.

"But I am not like them," he said.

"You know our language. It is already suspicious," she said.

"There is a simple explanation for that. I know a lot of languages," he said.

She looked at him, her eyes narrowing to slits. "The only reason I believe that is because Imani knows when someone lies. If she hasn't called you a liar, then you aren't," she said.

"Then why do you doubt what I say?" he asked.

"Because, because… just let it go," she said. They arrived at the chief's house. She walked to the door and was about to open it when he rushed to her and held her hands.

She was stunned. A blush formed on her face. She looked away immediately. "Let go, outsider," she said.

"My name is Alex. What's yours?" he asked with a soft smile.

She opened her mouth to speak, then closed it. She opened it again. "My name is Mia," she said.

"That's a beautiful name, Mia," he said.

"Stop with that flattery," she said, but could barely hide her blush.

"I hope we get to see each other again after this," he said. Her eyes widened.

"You want to see me again?" she asked.

"Of course, Mia," he replied.

Her heart raced.

'Why am I acting this way? I am older than this kid. He looks no more than twenty. He is Imani's mate. Why am I acting this way?

But still, I am not hating it, and I am eager to see him again,' she thought as she opened the door and walked in.

"Come with me," she said.

He followed behind her into the chief's house. The inside wasn't anything special, but it was cozy and clean. She led him through a hallway and into a larger room.

When he entered, he saw a woman seated on a wooden throne, draped in bear fur. She looked exactly like Imani, only more mature. Everything about her was almost double of what Imani had.

'Does this tribe only have beautiful women?' he wondered as he looked at the chief.

Imani stood by her side, waiting for him to get close. Mia led the way. She stood before the chief and placed her right fist on her chest before bowing. Alex, on the other hand, gave a normal bow.
