Chapter 10 - Qi and Mana

Mia's eyes moved when she saw the trajectory of the attack. She was stunned; he had carefully created an attack that was sure to land. If this had been anyone else, the attack would have landed for sure.

But she wasn't just anyone. She had a body that had been trained for years; she wasn't going out that way. She kicked back, her feet pushing her away at a very quick speed. The attack missed her.

While moving back, she pulled her spear and went for another attack. Alex had leaned forward, so he was close, and her attack was going to hit.

He never thought such a turn of events would happen. He was sure that he would be able to land that last attack, yet she somehow managed to get away from him.

And now she was countering. He looked at his spear still in its slashing motion, and her spear was coming from above to end him.

He had to think fast, but there were very few things that he could do in the current situation. He gritted his teeth and took a massive risk. He spun his body in a very unusual way, managing to block her attack before he crashed into the floor.

She still managed to point her spear at his neck, which meant that he had lost. He let out a pained sigh.

"Be happy, you shocked me. I can tell that you have very good training, but your body is weak," she said.

Alex got on his feet. "That's not really something to be happy about." He looked around and noticed that everyone was watching, most of them with shocked expressions on their faces.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Well, no one has really lasted long with me in a spar. It's shocking for them to see someone holding their own against me," she said.

"Come with me," she said. He followed behind her, and they left the training ground.

"Yesterday, Imani reported to her mother that she awakened her bloodline. This is something that not many people in the tribe can do anymore, and even the chief only awakened hers late. She was already fully an adult, and she couldn't gain all the growth that was in it.

Imani awakening hers now has given her limitless potential. She said it was because of you, that you helped her unlock her bloodline," Mia said. She stopped and looked at him.

Alex was taken by surprise. He took a step back and raised his hands. "I didn't really do anything."

"You don't need to deny it," she said.

'She wants to say something, but she is hesitating. Maybe a little push will help,' Alex thought before activating aphrodisiac. A few seconds later, her face flushed red. She looked around as if she was scared someone was going to see them.

Then she stopped. She looked at Alex. "I want you to help me as well," she muttered.

"Hmm? You do know what I did to help her, right? Or should I tell you?" he asked.

She looked around again. "I know what you did," she responded shyly, her tone dropping.

'For someone that's very powerful and strong, she is really shy about stuff like this,' Alex thought. He decided not to tease her anymore. He walked close to her and grabbed her hand. She almost leaped in shock.

He rubbed the back of her hand gently and looked her right in the eye. "I'll help you, Mia. Let's do it tonight," he said. Her eyes widened, and she nodded quickly. "Yes," she said.

"Good girl," he said, trying to test the waters. She heard that and looked at him for a few seconds. Alex stood there waiting to see how she would respond. She blushed but didn't say anything more.

He took it that she liked it, so he knew something he would be using tonight. He could already feel the bulge in his trousers.

But he couldn't rush it; it had to be tonight. For now, he wanted to gather some information.

"Mia, can I ask you a few things?" he asked.

"Yes, whatever you want," she responded.

"Tell me about this world, this forest, where we are. I want to know."

She looked at him, shocked that he wanted to know such basic information. But she told him what she knew.

"We are on the central continent of this world, Astra, also known as the human continent," she said.

"Does that mean only humans are here?" he asked.

"No, not only humans, but they make up the majority of this continent. There are many kingdoms on the continent, but the most powerful are the Dragon Empire and the Holy Kingdom," she said.

"I see," he muttered. He already knew where he would have to go when the time came.

There was also something that he had noticed, and that was the fact that the Terra tribe used bodily techniques and bloodline. There was absolutely no use of mana in the tribe.

"Mia, are there any mages in this tribe?" he asked.

"Mages? Yes, one. She is the shaman of the tribe. Magic isn't something everyone can learn; they have to be born with a good affinity for it. That's why mages are respected a lot.

You'll see more mages in major kingdoms. Our tribe focuses on cultivating our inner energy, our Qi, and using bloodline," she said.

"Aren't you descendants of a dragon race? You should be able to use mana," he said.

"The only thing we have is bloodline. With bloodline and our cultivation techniques, we can become stronger. With your internal Qi, you can swing a blade and destroy a mountain, and with your bloodline, you can use elemental attacks that should be impossible otherwise," she explained.

"I see, that makes a lot of sense," he muttered. Back on his home world, mages were more than people that actually trained, but here it was the opposite.

'I guess I'll have time to train my body like I did before,' he thought.
