Raelle Tang: "Are you a madam? You're a constant pimp.
"What's with your attitude?!" An Ying was furious. "I'm doing this for your own good! I want you to be a star! Do you want to throw away another chance to become famous?! If you had listened to me and the company, you'd be famous by now!"
"I could die laughing," Raelle Tang scoffed. "How can you have the nerve to say it's for my own good? It's just that I have such great potential, and you can't stand that I haven't made any money for you yet."
"Raelle Tang!!!" An Ying was even more enraged. "You signed a contract with the company. You have to cooperate! Otherwise, it's a breach of contract! Can you afford all the penalty fees?!"
"Does the contract say you're actually a madam and I have to go to dinners and sleep with people? If it does, feel free to sue me in court."
"You" An Ying gnashed her teeth. How could they write such things in a contract? They would never dare to sue.
"I told you before," Raelle Tang said. "If you just let me act and attend events the proper way, I'll cooperate. But for anything else, don't even think about it."
With that, Raelle hung up.
The truth was, she hadn't signed the contract with the agency herself. She hadn't even transmigrated yet.
The original owner's mother had signed it for her in her capacity as a legal guardian.
At the time, the original owner was only 16, still a minor. She was also foolish; even though her mother was terrible to her, always deceiving and harming her, she still trusted her. She even recorded a video to prove she had agreed to sign the contract.
The day after signing the contract and selling the original owner to the agency, her mother fled the country.
Yes, the mother of the body she was currently in was still alive, living abroad. Raelle Tang transmigrated on the very day her mother left, inheriting this whole mess.
That year, she had even fought a lawsuit against the agency. But because the contract was signed by a legal guardian and there was the video of the original owner's consent, she lost. With no other choice, she had to abide by the contract.
Fortunately, the contract didn't dare to explicitly state anything bad. Anything not written in the contract, she would refuse to do.
Because the company was trash, she had no desire to make money for them and didn't put in any effort. As a result, even after five years in the industry, she was still an unknown actress.
It wasn't until the evening that Ethan returned from the Lu Group. They ate dinner together again. After dinner, Raelle Tang went back to her room. It was actually Ethan's room, but now it was hers as well.
The room was as described in the book: cool-toned and grand. It was only after she got back to the room that she realized the cards Victoria and the others had given her earlier as a gift each had 100 million on them.
Chen Tang desperately wanted to get rid of these two hot potatoes. Ethan happened to open his safe and gave her the authorization to open it too, so she could use the money inside whenever she wanted.
She threw both cards into the safe without a second thought, just in case she lost them and couldn't pay them back. Her plan was to put anything the Lu family gave her into the safe, and then on the day they divorced, she would return it all.
"What's wrong, a little too hot to handle? You threw them away so fast," Ethan Lu teased. He couldn't understand why this little rascal disliked him so much, as if she didn't want anything to do with him. Could she also be a transmigrator? Did she know he was the male lead?
Raelle Tang was still annoyed about Ethan constantly messing up her hair. She cared about her image, you know. "I don't want to talk to you," Raelle Tang said, turning to grab her phone to call Aunt Wang. Aunt Wang had several surgeries today, which was why she hadn't called earlier. She should be available now.
Seeing Raelle Tang in a little huff didn't anger Ethan Lu; he just smiled.
When Aunt Wang answered, Raelle told her that she and Ethan had gotten their marriage license. Lin Wang was very happy but also apologized. "I'm sorry, Raelle. I held back a lot of information about him and only told you what was necessary. I really felt you two were a good match and wanted to bring you together, but I was afraid you'd think he was from a top-tier wealthy family and that the gap was too big, and you'd refuse.
Raelle Tang knew it wasn't all Aunt Wang's fault; it was also her fault for not asking for details. If she had just asked what her blind date did for a living, she would've known he was the male lead from the book.
Besides, Aunt Wang had been kind to her in the past.
Raelle Tang quickly replied, "It's fine."
After chatting for a while, Raelle Tang handed the phone to Ethan so he could talk to Aunt Wang. Ethan Lu took the phone, put it to his ear, and first greeted her with "Aunt Wang" before thanking her.
"Thank you for being our matchmaker."
Lin Wang teased, "It sounds like you're very satisfied?"
Ethan Lu glanced at Raelle Tang's petite figure, a hint of a smile in his voice. "Aunt Wang and my mother have good taste."
Lin Wang's tone became more understanding. "Then live well. You have to treat her well, or my conscience will bother me."
"I will," Ethan Lu replied.
After hanging up, Ethan Lu handed the phone back to Raelle. She was busy rummaging through her suitcase for a change of clothes and hadn't heard what he and Aunt Wang had said. When she came back with the clothes, she took the phone from him and tossed it onto the bed before heading to the bathroom for a shower. When she was done, Ethan Lu went in to shower.
Raelle lay on the bed and picked up her phone to play. But after only two minutes, the sound of water from the bathroom made her stop. She was thinking that the male lead's persona in the book wasn't like this at all. Even after falling in love with the female lead, he rarely smiled. But Ethan had smiled so many times today. He also loved to tease her.
Could it be that something happened to Ethan Lu before he met the female lead, something that made him become the cold, psychotic, obsessive, and sinister person described in the book? But the book didn't mention this.
The story started directly with the male and female leads meeting, and the male lead was already like that from the beginning. On the other hand, the Lu parents in the book often scolded Ethan Lu for having changed. But it never said what his personality was like before.
If she could transmigrate, was it possible that Ethan Lu had also transmigrated, which was why his personality didn't match the book? But seeing the inherent nobility in his every gesture, it didn't seem like he was a transmigrator.
Only someone who had truly received a top-tier education and grown up in a top-tier family from a young age could have that kind of demeanor.
Or perhaps he transmigrated when he was very young? Even earlier than she did?
