Chapter 1 - Flash marriage

Raelle Tang had been living inside a book for five years.

The novel was a romance titled The CEO's Obsession with Me. Fortunately, she wasn't the heroine or the villainess—just a minor side character with no ties to the main plot. Safe, invisible, and utterly unimportant.

At twenty-one, Raelle Tang had carved out a quiet life as a struggling, eighteenth-tier actress. Nothing glamorous, but it kept her out of trouble.

That was until yesterday, when the doctor aunt she trusted most suddenly asked if she'd consider marriage—and even offered to introduce her to someone.

Raelle Tang, who had never been married in her previous life, decided maybe it was time. So she agreed.

And now, here she was—standing outside the Civil Affairs Bureau, staring at her blind date.

Four years older. Broad shoulders. Narrow waist. Long legs.

Could he possibly be any more handsome?

Raelle Tang swallowed hard.

Noticing her obvious appraisal and the gleam of satisfaction in her eyes, Ethan Lu chuckled, his voice low and teasing.

"So? Do you approve?"

---

Raelle Tang hurriedly wiped the nonexistent drool from the corner of her lips.

"No, no. Auntie Wang said you were a good person, so I came." She stubbornly refused to admit she was also dazzled by his looks now.

Ethan Lu laughter rumbled low in his chest. "That's good enough for me. I trust Auntie Wang too—if she says you're a good match, then I won't doubt it. No need to waste time. Shall we go get our marriage certificate?"

"Yes, yes," Raelle Tang replied quickly. The sooner this was settled, the sooner she could stop dealing with awkward dates. With that, they walked into the Civil Affairs Bureau together.

Not long after, the two emerged—newly married.

Raelle Tang lived alone, so there was no family to introduce him to. But Ethan Lu parents were still alive, and since they were now husband and wife, it only made sense that they shouldn't live separately. Naturally, Raelle Tang agreed to go with him to his home.

Since she hadn't driven, she casually asked, "Should we call a taxi?"

Ethan Lu tilted his chin toward the street. "No need. I have a car."

Following his gaze, Raelle Tang's eyes widened. Several sleek, black luxury cars were lined up neatly outside the bureau. Even the cheapest among them had to be worth at least three million.

Her jaw dropped her gaze locked on the neatly black luxurious cars ..had she struck it rich??
