Chapter 3 - Chapter One(Part Two)– Awakening in a Strange World

The battlefield fell strangely quiet. Smoke rose in spirals from the broken bodies of the X-Borgs. The Rangers stood together, breathing hard from the skirmish, weapons still raised in case of another wave.

Yuriko lowered her hand, electricity still crackling faintly at her fingertips. Her legs shook with fatigue, but she forced herself to remain standing. She would not collapse again—not in front of these strangers who had already seen too much weakness from her.

"Unbelievable," Jake muttered, shaking his head as he sheathed his blaster-sword. "She just… zapped them like they were tin cans in a microwave."

"Not the weirdest thing we've seen," Gia, the Yellow Ranger, replied flatly. Still, her visor tilted slightly toward Yuriko, betraying curiosity. "But she's definitely not normal."

Emma stood protectively at Yuriko's side. "She saved me. She's on our side."

The Red Ranger—Troy, she had heard the others call him—stepped forward, his sword lowering but not vanishing. His presence was calm, but commanding. "You're powerful. And you're not an ordinary person. Who are you?"

Yuriko hesitated. The question stabbed at her like a blade. Who was she now? A warrior who had already died? A ghost with no home? If she told them the truth—that she was from another world, that she had once fought alongside a man named Stronger—would they even believe her?

Her lips parted, then closed again. Finally, she said softly, "My name is… Yuriko Misaki. That's all you need to know for now."

Troy studied her for a long moment. Though his visor hid his eyes, Yuriko felt as though he were peering directly into her heart. Then he nodded once. "Alright. Yuriko it is."

Noah, the Blue Ranger, crouched beside the remains of an X-Borg, poking it with the end of his blaster. "Her energy was unlike anything I've ever seen. It didn't come from Ranger Keys or Morphers. It came directly from her. Like she is the weapon."

Orion, the Silver Ranger who had been silent until now, crossed his arms. His voice was quieter, but thoughtful. "She's a warrior. You can see it in the way she carries herself. She's fought battles before—maybe too many."

Yuriko flinched slightly. His words cut close to her truth.

Another rumble shook the ground, pulling their attention back to the sky. Armada ships still loomed overhead, but for the moment their fire had ceased. The Rangers exchanged glances.

"We need to fall back before they send another wave," Troy ordered. "Let's move."

---

The Rangers led Yuriko away from the battlefield, weaving through ruined streets until they reached the safety of an abandoned warehouse near the city outskirts. Inside, the air was musty but still, and it gave them enough cover to regroup.

Yuriko sat on a broken crate, her body finally giving in to exhaustion. Her gloves trembled as she looked down at her hands—hands that should not have existed anymore.

Emma knelt beside her, removing her helmet. Her brown eyes were filled with concern. "Are you okay? You look like you've been through… well, everything."

Yuriko gave her a faint, tired smile. "You could say that."

One by one, the Rangers removed their helmets, revealing young faces—faces too young, Yuriko thought, for the weight they carried. Yet their eyes shone with determination that reminded her of home.

"I'm Troy," the Red Ranger said, introducing himself first. "This is Noah, Gia, Jake, Emma… and Orion. We're the Super Megaforce Rangers. Earth's last line of defense."

"Super… Megaforce?" Yuriko repeated, testing the foreign word.

Jake grinned. "Yeah, it's a mouthful, but it sounds cool when we shout it."

Gia rolled her eyes. "Ignore him."

Noah leaned forward, his curiosity overcoming his usual calm. "Yuriko, that energy you used—it wasn't like anything we've seen. How did you do it?"

Silence stretched between them. Yuriko lowered her gaze. Do I tell them? That I died once? That I come from a different world where Riders, not Rangers, battle evil?

Her fingers clenched tightly in her lap. "It's… complicated," she said at last. "I'm not from here. That's all I can tell you now."

The group exchanged glances. Jake opened his mouth to say something flippant, but Troy cut him off with a small shake of his head.

"You don't have to explain everything right now," Troy said gently. "What matters is that you helped us. And right now… Earth needs every ally it can get."

Those words struck something deep inside her. She remembered Stronger, his unyielding faith, the way he had always told her she was stronger than she believed. She blinked quickly, pushing down the sting of tears.

"You… trust me that easily?" she asked.

Troy's voice was steady, unwavering. "You risked your life on the battlefield. That's all the proof I need."

Emma smiled warmly. "See? You're one of us already."

For the first time since awakening in this strange world, Yuriko felt something other than confusion or grief. She felt… welcome.

She looked around at the team, their young faces lit by the dim light filtering through the warehouse windows. Something in her chest stirred—a spark of hope she thought she had lost when she fell in her world.

Perhaps her story wasn't finished after all.

---

That night, while the Rangers planned their next move, Yuriko sat apart, gazing out through a crack in the wall at the Armada ships still blotting the skies.

She touched her chest, where once she had felt the finality of death. Instead, she felt a steady rhythm. A second chance.

"I don't know why I'm here," she whispered to herself. "But if this world needs me… I'll fight again."

The hum of her power answered, soft and reassuring.

Her legend had crossed dimensions.

And in this world of Power Rangers, Yuriko Misaki—Electronic Wave Humanoid Tackle—was alive again.
