••THE RIVER'S MANSION••
Seated on the couch, Samantha's loud sob echoed through the mansion while June and Lucy tried their best to console her.
"It hurts so much mom! I can't feel my fingers anymore!" Samantha shrieked pitifully and continued sobbing out loud.
Mrs Rivers who had been pacing back and forth panicked as she quickly called the family doctor to check on Samantha.
"She will be fine, I did treated the wound yesterday and gave her some drugs. For now she just need to allow her palm to rest so the wound can heal." The family doctor said and left.
"Okay thanks so much " Mrs Rivers said, released tired a sigh.
Hearing what the family doctor said, Samantha gritted her teeth in anger. The wound on her palm which had closed, reopened again this morning after she had been lashing out at the maids, slapping them as they fueled her rage!
Incompetent fools!
"What are you still waiting for?! I'm telling you that an animal bit my daughter, you fool! An animal in form of a girl almost chopped off my daughter's hand and I want her fired from that company. Else if I step foot in that company, I'll tear her to pieces myself!!" Mrs Rivers snapped, rudely on the phone and hanged up. Panting angrily, she threw her phone on the couch but her gaze softened when she heard Samantha's painful sobs.
"My baby... It hurts so much, right? Don't worry, I'll deal with that girl myself, hmm? Don't cry again, you're making mummy sad" Mrs Rivers muttered softly, hugging Samantha and patting her back.
"But you did nothing to her right? You didn't look for her trouble?" Mrs Rivers asked, curiously.
Samantha froze as she blinked rapidly.
"I... I didn't mom, I was on my own when she stole the dress I wanted to buy. I tried taking it back but she bit me" Samantha stuttered, tearfully.
"Don't worry, I'll teach that bitch a lesson" Mrs Rivers said angrily and went upstairs to get dressed.
Samantha stared at Lucy and June as they stared fearfully at her due to how she had lied to her mom, what if the truth comes out??
"Why don't you guys go to my room, my personal maid will pick out some fancy bags and jewelries for you" Samantha said sweetly with a forced smile.
"Oh my! Thank you so much Samantha, you're the best!" Lucy shrieked, happily.
"I've always wanted new jewelries and bags, thank you so much!" June said , excitedly.
Samantha smiled and waved her hand lazily, telling them not to worry. They both ran upstairs excitedly.
Her smile vanished, instantly.
"Useless dogs " She muttered and rolled her eyes.
Picking up her phone, she made a call.
"The shopping mall I went to yesterday.... I want you to tamper with the CCTV footages " Samantha said, coldly.....

He lounged lazily on the armrest chair facing the large glass window, he enjoyed the scene below, as he sipped slowly from his glass of red blood, though anyone watching would've thought it was wine.
He had on a black shirt leaving the top three buttons undone, his bare and tattooed chest on full display.
Strands of his inky black hair fell to the side, partly veiling his sharp features. His dark black eyes turned bloody red.
"What did she say?" Vladimir asked, his voice cold yet lazy as he shut his eyes.
He hadn't been able to rest for days now, due to business.
"Mrs Rivers is quite angry and threatens to step foot here and tear the girl to pieces...." Kael said calmly as he stood behind Vladimir, his hands behind his back.
"And..?" Vladimir probed, lazily.
"Mrs Rivers wants her fired " Kael spoke, calmly.
Vladimir burst into a cold and bone chilling laughter which died down instantly, having Ezren and Cassian who had just stepped into the office to flinch.
While Kael stood, he was the least bothered. He knew all about Vladimir's tricks and schemes, his laughter, silence and smile most times is a call for death or evil plots.
"This is my company and I decide who to fire ... Right Kael?" Vladimir questioned with a smile, one which was cunning and scary.
"Yes boss" Kael replied, calmly.
Vladimir's smile vanished as he tapped lazily on his thigh.
"Boss, we got the CCTV footages. Someone did tampered with it like you had predicted but we were able to recover it back" Ezren said, calmly and gave it to Vladimir.
"Mrs Rivers and her daughter is also here" Ezren added.
Vladimir chuckled darkly.
"Cassian.... Fetch me Hazel Morgan " He ordered, coldly.
Meanwhile, Hazel yawned tiredly as she felt her head ached at the amounts of paperwork which was staring at her, she didn't know what she did to Camille, she had given her so many paperwork to sort out. Haven't been able to eat anything before leaving the house, now she felt so hungry and tired.
"Mrs Morgan?"
Hearing her name, she turned and faced the stranger. She couldn't recognize him so she stared at him, confused.
"Ahahaha my bad, I'm Cassian. The CEO calls for you" Cassian said with a short laughter.
Hazel felt her heart skip, fear gripping her insides. Why is he calling for her, did he perhaps recognize her now..?
She had seen everything that night, could it be that he had suspected that she knows something? After all it is like a taboo for the vampires, they don't want the humans to find out their secrets that's why they do compel them but if it doesn't work, they kill them immediately.
As long as she knows his secret, she's not safe because he can kill her at anytime. Who knows if he's going to kill her in his office and dispose off her body without anyone noticing.
If she dies, w—what about her best friend Riley....? Riley might look for her and she wouldn't want Riley to be worried and blame herself for her death.
"Hello little bunny" Cassian called out with a snap of his finger, making Hazel to snap out of her trance.
Hazel stood up slowly and almost tripped.
"Can–can I call my best friend first and inform–
"There's no time for that, if you keep the CEO waiting he won't take it lightly with you. Trust me you don't want to see him when he's angry" Cassian cuts Hazel off, playfully and didn't know that she was dying inwardly due to fear.
Her face turned pale and ghostly white.
"I... I don't want to die" Hazel mumbled, tearfully. Her voice coming out as a whisper.
Cassian chuckled,
"If you don't want to die then let's hurry up" He said, coolly.
Hazel quickly hurried after him while the rest of the employees stared at them curiously, they began to gossip.
Camille stared at their retreating figure and clenched her fist tight.
The bitch just came now and she's already getting so much attention!
She won't allow a mere human steal her place in this company!
