Chapter 12 - A Promise Sealed In Fear.

Hazel spun around slowly.

"I– I don't know... what you're talking about sir " Hazel tried to maintain a calm voice but it only came out as a whisper.

"Are you sure? You know you saw everything, how I sank my fangs deep into his neck and tore his head from his body... It is something to remember isn't it?" Vladimir retorted sarcastically, his sharp gaze didn't fail to catch every single expression and action of hers.

Hazel trembled fearfully, her face white and ghostly pale as beads of sweat slid down her skin.

She clutched the sides of her skirt tightly and took a step back, her body almost swaying.

"Scared now are we? You were bold earlier and had been running that small mouth of yours but now you can't talk? Anyways I like your response to the foolish mother and daughter " Vladimir said with a slight chuckle, lounging lazily on his seat, his dark gaze took in her pale appearance.

"But I thought I compelled you... How's it possible.. ?" She heard him mutter to himself confused, but one with high IQ would know that he's just messing with her.

"Please I don't know anything... I don't remember anything so just let me go" Hazel whispered fearfully, eyes brimming with tears.

"Truth Hazel... I want the truth" Vladimir's impatience voice cut through the air. Normally he despised waiting, but with this intriguing girl, he could give her all the time she needed.

"I don't know what you're talking about" Hazel

tried to keep her voice firm but it betrayed her.

Vladimir offered her a serene smile, which was quite scary as he stood up. Seeing this, Hazel panicked.

Heart pounding, she stumbled back and bolted for the door. She yanked the knob with desperate force, but it refused to budge.

Hazel yelped when he closed in on her as his warm breath fanned her neck. She felt his grip on her shoulder, turning her around so she would face him.

"I said not to lie my darling" Vladimir muttered, his voice low and threatening, sending shivers down her spine.

"I'm sorry.... I did remember everything. Please don't kill me, I don't want to die... Please " Hazel sobbed as her shoulders trembled.

Vladimir's gaze softened, raising his hand up, he caressed her black hair and ran his thumb across her cheek, wiping her tears.

"I won't hurt you hmm. " Vladimir said with a soft hum.

Hazel stared at him surprised as she blinked her long wet natural lashes.

"I won't hurt you so don't cry" Vladimir added.

Hazel quickly wiped the remnants of her tears, Vladimir took one step back and crossed his hands behind his back.

"But it doesn't mean that I won't hesitate to kill you if you spill a word out to anyone " Vladimir added coldly.

Lowering her gaze, she swallowed nervously.

Of course Vladimir didn't also miss that simple action of hers.

"I won't tell anyone, I promise" Hazel mumbled, softly.

Vladimir nodded slowly, his gaze lingering on her smooth, pale and flawless neck as though it were beckoning him to sink his fangs into it.

"Though you didn't thank me properly for helping you but you can leave" Vladimir said, dryly.

"How can I thank you? Should I get you something?" Hazel asked, innocently.

A slow smile curved Vladimir's lips, revealing the razor edge of his fangs.

"Don't worry I'll tell you what to give me when I'm ready" He said coolly, something dark flickering in his red eyes.

Hazel nodded. He helped her twist the knob. As the door swung open, she bolted from the room.

Vladimir stared at her retreating figure for a while before shutting the door. Taking a can of blood, he poured it in a glass cup as he strode towards the big glass window.

"You seem to have lost interest in it... Should I bring in one of the female employees?" Kael asked calmly as he entered the room, clearly referring to the blood in Vladimir's glass.

"There's no need. I seem to be craving a certain someone's blood," Vladimir drawled, lazily.

Kael glanced at him, deciding not to ask about the certain someone, he lowered his gaze.

"Put a call across Mrs Quinn and give the phone to me" Vladimir ordered lazily.

Kael nodded, scrolling through his phone and tapping on Mrs Quinn's contact, the line went through immediately. He gave Vladimir the phone.

"Mrs Quinn... I believe you know which is the good students and the bad students in Wexford college, it came to my notice that you suspended a student.

I'm giving you just five minutes to clear the air and after that clear your desk" Vladimir said coldly then hang up.

••••••••••••••

Hazel released a sigh of relief the moment she stepped into her office, she clutch her chest, trying to calm her racing heart.

Now that she had managed to escape from his claws, it's not too late to quit the job right?

But he knows everything already, she couldn't help but tell him due to how scary he was. Who knows what he would've done to her if she had refused to talk.

Gosh that man is so scary and dangerous!

"Hazel?!"

Hearing someone screamed out her name, Hazel flinched snapping out of her thoughts.

"Geez! What were you thinking?" Susan asked curiously, blinking her big brown round eyes.

"Ugh.... Nothing just family issues" Hazel blurted out, calmly.

She blinked confused, seeing how most of the female employees forced their way into her private office as they stared curiously at her.

"Oh...Vladimir called you into his office earlier, what did he say?" Susan asked, curiously.

"Yes what did he say!?"

"How long did he converse with you?"

"Were you able to see his handsome face?"

Some of the female employees questioned, curiously.

"I wasn't able to see him " Hazel replied slowly making their faces to drop.

"But–

"I only saw his close men... They only interviewed me. " Hazel lied smoothly, cutting Susan off.

She hated unnecessary attention.

"Camille is coming!" A man announced from the doorway. At once, everyone scrambled out of Hazel's office, each darting to their desks and hurriedly arranging their scattered papers.

Camille strode in, chin tilted upward with pride and head held high, her cold gaze slicing sharply across each employee.

They quickly lowered their heads, refusing to meet her gaze.

With heavy and long strides, Camille stormed into Hazel's office making her to flinch.

"Stand up!" Camille snapped with a commanding tone.

"Ugh..? " Hazel frowned.

"I said stand up!" Camille's harsh voice cracked through the room as her fist slammed against the desk, sending papers flying. Hazel slowly rose to her feet.

"You were ordered to work on the paperwork but you left them! Do you want to anger the CEO?!" Camille fired, angrily.

The employees peeked at them curiously from their desks.

"I was being called to the office–

"For what?!" Camille cut Hazel off harshly.

Hazel frowned.

"For a second interview. But I thought you saw me when I was being called out by sir Cassian...? " Hazel replied innocently.

Camille clenched her fist so tight that one of her artificial nails broke.

"Sort these out!" She hissed through gritted teeth, slamming a stack of paperwork onto the desk before storming off.

Seeing her stepping out, the employees quickly faced their desks, acting as though they heard or saw nothing.

But it was obvious that Hazel had gotten into Camille's bad book.
