Phoebe's POV.
I stared at both of them, bemused.
They were both staring at each other in strange ways and I knew that they probably mindlinked.
How Alpha Kingston held my hand was so possessive and I liked it. I had been having this strange affection for him but I was fighting it.
He was an Alpha and I was nobody. Mark rejected me because I was a slave who couldn't meet up to his standards.
Alpha Kingston was different but that couldn't change his status and to aggravate things, his father and sister abhorred me. Throughout the dinner, his father was staring at me with hate in his eyes and it even led to me choking.
He disliked me to the extent that he would dare taint the name of my father. Hearing those words from him broke me because I hardly recalled things about my father.
During my sadness, I wanted to see Alpha Kingston but Beta Axel came upstairs instead. I was sure that he sent him and it led to us hugging but I wanted Alpha Kingston instead.
