Chapter 8 - Chapter 8:

(Opening)

Marshal picks up his bag and walks out of the classroom, Selina is already waiting for him outside.

When he leaves the classroom they both start walking in the hallway—silently.

After a little distance is covered—and to break the silence—he asks:

"Why did you take off from school yesterday?"

She calmly replies:

"I wasn't feeling well."

He nods, and they continue to walk until the staff room comes into view.

She says:

"Wait here, I gotta meet Yukine Sensei."

He nods as he stands beside the door:

"Sure!"

She knocks on the door and enters the room. Marshal hears her saying:

"Yukine Sensei, here are your papers. Please, if you don't mind, forward them to Hanae Senpai."

Marshal rolls his eyes while snapping his fingers. He sighs as he thinks:

"Why can't she give the papers to Hanae Senpai? Ugh, she's a little too jealous of her."

He is watching the students pass by him. Yusuke sees him:

"Oh, Marshal!"

Marshal sees him:

"Before you try to drag this conversation, let me tell you, I am standing here waiting for Selina."

Yusuke gasps:

"O-Oh!"

Marshal nods:

"And I cannot accompany you on a trip to the grocery store. Get yourself a brain, dude. Am I your husband or what?"

The door of the staff room opens. Yusuke gulps thinking:

"It must be her!"

He quickly runs away in fear.

It was Morinaga who opened the door. He sees Marshal:

"Are you waiting for her?"

Marshal nods.

Morinaga shakes his head, while waving his hand in Marshal's hair:

"Yukine-san is still looking at the papers and Selina is just standing in front of her. I think it's gonna take them a while."

Marshal replies:

"Sorry, Sensei, but I'll have to wait here."

Morinaga walks away with a smile:

"I didn't tell you to leave."

Marshal mumbles while looking at Morinaga walking away:

"I swear he's always trying to pull my leg."

Just when Marshal thought he could stand peacefully, darkness started falling around and covered only him. A veil only he could see and sense.

The domain of Nothingness in which Marshal stood nonchalantly until someone just like his alien form appeared.

He was none other than Marshal Bell from a different timeline. A copy of the original but only in alien form.

Same glowing white eyes, body covered in darkness, overall a lean physique with eight-pack abs.

In a yoctosecond, Marshal's variant was standing near him. He grabbed the collar of Marshal and threw him away.

Marshal quickly gains his composure, awakens his alien form, and says:

"Do I... know you?"

His variant replies:

"I don't think so."

They both run towards each other, and his variant throws a punch but it moves through his body.

Marshal throws a punch but it also moves through his variant's body. He instantly gets it:

"Just like he cannot attack me without my permission. I, too, cannot do it."

Marshal sits down:

"I have a plan."

What looked like a try for a kick,

wasn't; instead, Marshal pulled Shi no Karasu out of a black hole and attacked his variant with it.

The attack was successful, as it cut through the legs of his variant. His variant falls on the ground for a second.

Marshal stands up and takes a turn and while moving his katana he cuts the neck of his variant.

He takes a deep breath while standing but then his variant speaks:

"You can't defeat Nothingness."

When Marshal looks behind his variant moves towards him with his own Shi no Karasu.

His variant binds him with it:

"Cursed Binding."

A portal opens which pulls them inside a dimension. They attack each other with their katanas.

While trying to push each other, Marshal asks:

"What is this place? You copycat."

His variant replies:

"The dimension where all timelines are flowing simultaneously."

Marshal gasps, and loses his focus. He looks to his right side and sees dozens of large pipes made of glass-like material, they glow because of the energy flowing in them.

Same on the left side.

His variant takes advantage as he teleports behind him. Marshal falls on the ground.

His variant coldly throws his own katana towards him and says:

"Cursed Blast!"

He snaps his fingers and the dimension automatically teleports them back to the veil.

The katana instantly blasts taking Marshal in it. The veil vanishes, so do their alien forms.

They are both standing in the hallway while grabbing each other's collars.

The door of the staff room opens. Selina comes out of it and looks at them.

She sees Marshal and his variant. The variant looks just like the real one but what differs between them is their hairstyle and eye color.

Where the real one has long jet-black hair and grey eyes. His copy has long jet-black hair, ponytailed, and icy blue eyes.

After a moment of silence, Selina frowns in anger and yells while slapping him:

"MARSHAL!"

They both look at her at the same time. His variant is stunned when he sees her face:

"S-Selina?"

Marshal instantly says to him:

"Who exactly are you? And how the hell do you know about her?"

His variant replies:

"You are the most stupid original I have ever seen in my lifetime."

Marshal gasps in shock:

"O-Original?"

His variant says:

"I am you from a different timeline."

Marshal gasps:

"Oh, wow!"

Selina slaps her forehead:

"One wasn't enough. Now another freak-bot has descended to ruin my life."

His variant coldly says to her:

"Don't worry I have my own Selina."

Selina rolls her eyes:

"Yeah, then make sure to tease her all day."

His variant replies:

"C'mon, I don't tease her at all..."

Selina slaps Marshal:

"Learn from him, Dumbo!"

Marshal falls on the ground:

"Ouch!"

Selina asks:

"Does she look like me?"

His variant replies:

"Do I look like the original? No. Because we are all different than each other, so are you and your variants."

Selina nods.

His variant takes a deep breath:

"My Selina is soft like flowers, sweeter than honey, and calm like wind. She gets frustrated but only when I don't listen to her."

Marshal and Selina are listening to him. Selina gets disgusted:

"The way you're framing it is sus."

His variant replies:

"To put it into words, we have been in a relationship for a long time."

Selina's jaw drops in shock.

Marshal with a smile pulls Selina towards him:

"Very well but this one you see standing here is mine."

Selina looks at him:

"This line is sus too."

Marshal replies:

"No, No, No... I meant to say this one is my best friend and we have been friends since childhood."

His variant shakes his head:

"We were best friends, each other's neighbours and classmates too but now we stand one step ahead of you both."

Marshal says:

"Lemme guess it, umm, cuz you're in a relationship isn't it?"

His variant nods.

Marshal's eye starts twitching in anger:

"Then stop bragging about it now."

Selina places a finger on Marshal's cheek. He looks at her, she mumbles:

"Is there any chance you will leave me so I can stand on my own feet?"

Marshal instantly leaves her:

"My mistake I got so carried away I almost forgot I was holding you, Selina."

His variant pulls his leg:

"Isn't she soft like a flower?"

Marshal weirdly mumbles while looking away:

"Y-You're right."

Selina punches him in the gut:

"What about now?"

Marshal falls on the ground:

"This isn't soft like a flower."

His variant shows the picture of her variant while saying:

"Look at the difference between you both."

Selina looks at the picture. Her variant is standing with a bright smile. Her hair is caramel and she has honey-golden eyes.

She in shock says:

"Hmm! I can see the difference between her and me."

His variant nods:

"You can keep this picture if you want to."

Selina nods and takes the picture from him. Marshal stands up:

"Let's go home."

*10 minutes later*

Marshal is sitting in his room alongside his variant. He asks:

"Why did you come here?"

His variant replies:

"I wonder if you know about it or not but I was here to tell you that timelines and variants do exist in this world."

Marshal replies:

"Then you could have come normally, dude, I already know about it."

His variant asks:

"Since... when?"

Marshal replies:

"From chapter one, hehe!"

His variant nods:

"I see! But, there is something else I want to tell you about too."

He replies:

"Sure, go ahead!"

Just then, Marshal feels his head getting dizzy all of a sudden, but mistakes it and ignores it.

His variant says:

"I want to tell you about the throne of the Omniverse. Someone is trying to attain it but the truth is no one ever got to own it..."

Marshal questions:

"But... who?"

His variant says:

"I will tell you but don't reveal anything to anyone before I say, okay?"

Marshal nods:

"Okay!"

His variant was about to tell him but they heard Selina screaming. Marshal says:

"What was that for?"

She calls him.

He picks it up:

"What happened?"

She is in fear when she says:

"If you are free... come to my room."

He snaps his fingers and teleports on the balcony of her room. He knocks on the door:

"Selina!"

She opens the door and pulls him inside. She sticks to him and tightly holds his shirt in fear.

Marshal in frustration:

"Would you please tell me what the hell is happening here?"

Selina hides her face while pointing at the floor:

"Th-There is a worm on the floor."

Marshal chuckles while walking towards the worm:

"Heheh, lemme take it ou-"

He gets in shock when he sees a centipede on the floor. His eyes widen in shock:

"Selina, you said there was a worm on the floor."

Her eyes are closed and she is peeking through the door of the balcony:

"Y-Yes!"

Marshal gulps:

"It's a freaking centipede, bro!"

He climbs on her chair, which was kept in front of the study table.

His variant enters the room:

"Why are you both so scared?"

The centipede touches the feet of the variant. Marshal and Selina scream in fear.

Marshal says:

"Keep it away from me."

His variant rolls his eyes and throws it outside with the help of his feet.

I had a feeling that the disaster of disasters was going to happen. Because I knew it was going to land on Selina's face.

She is stunned at first but later screams as loud as she can while running here and there.

Marshal looks at his variant:

"What the hell did you just do?"

Marshal and his variant, they both snap their fingers at the same time.

The centipede on her face first disappears, and she gets normal, but it appears again.

She picks a book and tries to hit it on her face. That's when Geko enters. Marshal's variant thinks:

"Tch! I will have to leave, but before that, I am going to make you forget that I was here."

Geko takes the book from her and snaps his fingers and the centipede vanishes.

Marshal mumbles:

"Geko-san?"

He warmly smiles as he asks her:

"Are you okay?"

She breathes as she walks away:

"I gotta drink some water."

Geko says:

"If anything wrong happens again please call us."

He looks at Marshal and asks:

"I must be hallucinating, but I think someone was standing there on the balcony, isn't it?"

Marshal shakes his head:

"I don't think so. It must be you hallucinating."

Geko nods.

Marshal teleports himself and Geko to his room. He sits on the chair while asking:

"May I ask why you are here today?"

Geko replies:

"I wanted to inform you that I have sealed Azara from entering planet Earth."

Marshal nods, but slowly his eyes start to close on their own and he loses consciousness.

Geko tries to wake him up:

"Marshal? Marshal? What is going on with you now?"

(Ending)

(Before Geko entered Earth)

He is standing in front of the throne of Ishi. A warm smile on his face when he says:

"Is there anything I have to do now?"

Ishi replies:

"I would like you to go back to Earth and accompany Marshal. Now that he has used Shi no Karasu the cursed bindings have fully awakened between his katana and my throne."

Geko nods—also questions:

"Has your body started healing?"

Ishi replies:

"Yes! And it will continue to consume Empo and Diu from his body, until the moment he returns to his base form—when I will stand in my highest form."

Geko says:

"Very well."

Ishi says:

"Before you leave I would like to know more about the connection you formed for the cursed binding."

Geko replies:

"I have used the mildest form of cursed binding, it won't heavily impact his body after the first time, so he won't be able to navigate it.

...Even if he doesn't use Shi no Karasu, even if he throws it away or destroys it. The cursed binding will stay until your body is fully healed."

Ishi says:

"That's it. You have given this whole process its soul. The process of perfection I followed in my prime."

Geko with a smile:

"With that, the throne of the Omniverse is yours."
