He got to the chamber and ripped the door apart, he hurried over to help mrs adolpha and the team shut the process down, he helped pull down the handle but it didn't budge.
Lupus stepped back then said to mrs adolpha who turned to know what he was up to.
"Hit me!" He ordered her.
"What?" She asked in surprise.
"Do it!" He urged her.
"Why?!" She asked alarmed cause what he requested was totally uncalled for.
He made a serious scowl without saying a word. Mrs adolpha saw how serious his request was, without a word, she hit him hard with her claws and blood dripped from his face.
He puffed in anger as his size grew bigger, in one pull, he took the handle down.
Mrs adolpha watched in surprise, she's heard about his double fur ability but is only witnessing it for the first time.
She soon realised why the prophesy said 'a match of strength and love would defeat the incoming doom."
The roof of the chamber begun closing, slowly sealing off the moonlight.
They hurried over to the tub with valzella still sealed in, she was still groaning in pain with her eyes shut.
As soon as the roof shut off completely, the tub released open. Mrs adolpha (already changed into her human form) removed all the wires attached to valzella's body while lupus took her out of the tub, her entire countenance changed, her body looked very white, her hair all silver with shiny strands, the shakings and bone movement stopped immediately there was no moonlight entering the chamber.
She was placed on a bed nearby while the medical team took over, an oxygen mask was placed over her face, her pulse was weak so she had to be placed on drip before wheeling her into an emergency room down the hall from the chamber room.
When they got to the emergency room, her breathing stopped.
The medical team tried resuscitating her using the cardiopulmonary and defibrillation method but they both failed. The heart monitor flat lined, valzella was dead.
*** few minutes later ***
"No, no no no no, no! NO!" Mrs adolpha yelled when she was told the news.
Lupus sank to the floor.
"She can't be dead, DO SOMETHING!" Mrs adolpha yelled at the medical team.
There was nothing that could be done, her body was already cold when they got her out of the chamber.
Everyone was devastated by the news, valzella's body was to be prepared and taken to the morgue, mrs adolpha cried her soul out.
What went wrong? What would she have done differently?
Lupus was heartbroken and in disbelief, was the last time they spoke be the last time he ever saw her? Why is this happening? What is happening?
*** few hours later ***
The night dragged on and the mansion was in a still sad soul crushing mood, the atmosphere was heavy, the sad passing of valzella stung in the air. Her body was ready to be moved to the morgue.
"Mrs adolpha, it's time." Lupus announced referring to the transfer of valzella's body to the morgue, he spoke in a cracked voice, his throat was dry and sore from howling loud in the wind (he'd changed into his wolf, ran deep into the forest to let out his grief).
Mrs adolpha sniffled, her eyes reddened and swollen from excessive prolonged crying, mrs adolpha loved valzella like her own child, how couldn't she? She raised the pup from infancy, valzella was a very special werewolf and was dear to her, how could she have let her die like that?
She felt guilty and would blame herself for her death the rest of her werewolf days. She turned to lupus without saying a word, they both walked to the room where valzella body laid.
Mrs adolpha wept as she drew closer to the table where she laid, she fell into deep weeping, she wept for a while on valzella's body.
"You can't leave us like this!" Mrs adolpha said, still crying her heart out, it pained her to see valzella laying lifeless on the table like that. She turned to lupus and said, "say your goodbyes cause i can't. I won't." She said with a final note in an agony filled tone and barged out of the room.
Lupus sighed as he returned his attention back to valzella on the table, he stared at her cold lifeless white face for a while then said.
"You heard elder adolpha, you can't just leave like that, not like this weak link, you didn't survive the fire to be taken out by a silver moon." He spoke to her like she was listening. "Most especially cause i love you and have a lot making up to do with you, you see i finally had a hearing from theodulf about few tricks to get me on your good side, i had planned to lure, seduce and make you mine forever, what do you say to that?" He sighed as tears trickled down his face to her hand. "You would have slapped or bite me if you could here me, wouldn't you?" He smiled then burst into tears. "COME ON VAL I HAVE AN IMPRINT TO DO!" He yelled in agony then paused and looked at her. "That's right, i have an imprint to do, i need to make my imprint on your soul. I'll be back!" He rushed out of the room into one of the rooms where mrs adolpha sat in deep thoughts.
"I'm ready for the imprint!" He announced panting.
"What?!" Mrs adolpha jumped back to reality.
"I'm ready to make an imprint, i accept her as my mate and would love to join souls with her." He said slowly so he wouldn't mince words and so that mrs adolpha would hear everything he said.
"What?!" Mrs adolpha said but this time not in shock but in surprise of what she just heard.
She stood up and walked to him, placed a hand on his shoulder looking him in the eyes then said "Son, she's gone." She squeezed her face trying to swallow the pain that accompanied those words. "You can't, you shouldn't make an imprint on her soul anymore."
"But she's my destined mate." He said in protest.
"Honey you are free to pick another mate." She said.
"The gods matched us." He said.
"I'm afraid they might have been wrong or maybe i didn't hear them correctly, there are thousands to pick as a mate now son, don't trap your soul forever." She tried to talk him out of his decision cause she knows the implications of imprinting on a dead soul.
"But, i want to, really." He insisted.
"Son listen to me! She's, she's...." She paused for a second, she struggled to say the words she wanted to "She's dead. If you make an imprint now, you'll be trapped with her forever, you won't be able to pick another mate. Do you wish to be mateless for the rest of your life? Remember our kind lives on for centuries, that's too much of a long time to stay mateless." She said searching his face but the boy would not be convinced otherwise, he stood his grounds.
"I want to make the imprint." He said firmly holding on to his decision.
"Did you hear a word i said?" She asked in bewilderment, surprised he was still taking his stand.
"I did" he answered.
"Then why are you still insisting on bounding your soul forever with the dead?" She asked.
"Because i love her! Okay? I love her so much that i don't care if she's d... Dead. I just want to do right by her" He said with tears welling up in his eyes.
"What?" She asked in a low tone.
"Yeah, i do, and i don't care if she has transcended to the other world, i still want to do right by her." He sobbed and grunted in agony.
