Evander's POV
I walked into the room and the first thing I saw was her. Odette. Bleeding. Wounded on the bed. Blood still smeared across the floor, half-cleaned but not enough to hide the mess. My chest tightened—anger surged through me before I could stop it.
Mara was kneeling at her side, her face streaked with tears. The instant her eyes met mine, she froze like a trapped animal, terror flashing across her face. I didn't need to ask—I already knew she had something to do with this. My jaw clenched, fists tightening at my sides. My wolf snarled in my head, pacing furiously, the bond pulling at me harder now that Odette was trembling and in pain.
"What the fuck happened to her?" The words cut through the air, harsher than I intended, my tone dripping with fury. The sound of my own voice shocked me. Shocked everyone. The room went silent in an instant.
