Evander's POV
I did not get a wink of sleep last night, I was used to this already. It was a normal thing to barely get any sleep since I was always busy with work from the pack.
But ever since Odette came into my world, I had not known sleep. I should have never taken her with me.
Because she was driving me insane with each passing day.
The main hall echoed with the steady rhythm of boots against concrete. Papers rustled, voices dropped to whispers, the air thick with tension. I stood at the center, spine straight, reports in hand as men approached one by one with updates. Intel. Numbers. Patrol shifts. Trade negotiations. Enemy movements.
I barely glanced at half of them. A flick of my hand sent one soldier away, my cold stare silenced another before he could ramble on. Those who hesitated learned quickly—speak only what matters, or don't waste my time.
