"Minnie!!!"
Candice shouted, then turned to glare at Cole in fury. Green lightning crackled across her long green hair.
"You bastard! You dare humiliate us like this—do you think you're walking away unharmed?!"
As she spoke, Candice lifted her right hand. Boundless green lightning poured in like a storm, converging into ten radiant points. The green light lit up the entire sky.
The next instant, Candice chopped her right hand downward!
"Sha!!!"
Green lightning—like a heavenly punishment blade—came crashing down toward Cole, blotting out the heavens.
In the distance, even the Sternritter were startled. That terrifying lightning was enough to cleave straight through the entire Silverframe City. Who knew how many Quincy would die if it struck the ground?
"Using an attack of this level…" Cang frowned, stepping forward as spirit power surged—ready to use Seimonji: Kōtetsu (Holy Schrift: Iron) to defend.
He couldn't let that lightning hit the city.
But just as he was about to move, Jugram spoke calmly.
"Wait, Cang. Watch first."
Cang's frown deepened, but he didn't disobey Jugram.
He just couldn't understand why Jugram wanted him to stop.
Did Jugram think that an "ordinary holy weapon" could block it?
Under everyone's eyes—
The green lightning slammed down.
And then, within that curtain of green, a sky-blue streak appeared—like a meteor piercing through the emerald firmament.
"Ah!"
The green sky-curtain was punched straight through, and the lightning collapsed in an instant.
Only then did everyone see what that blue light was.
It was nothing else but the most basic thing of all—
A single Hairihi Pufairu (Heilig Pfeil / Sacred Arrow).
That thick blue arrow shot upward like a meteor, streaking into the heavens.
Askin stared at it, his heart jolting as he blurted out, "This guy… he used a Heilig Pfeil to pierce the power of a Holy Schrift?! How the hell did he do that?!"
A Heilig Pfeil was, in the end, just an arrow fired by a Quincy—something even the most basic Quincy could use.
Yet that "ordinary holy weapon" had used it to punch through the strongest power of a Holy Schrift.
Jugram fixed his eyes on Cole, his expression grave.
"This man compressed an unimaginable amount of spirit power to the absolute limit—creating an explosive Heilig Pfeil."
Even as he said it, he found it hard to believe.
Compressing that much spirit power without it exploding… should've been impossible.
No—compressing it to a single point should've been impossible in the first place.
Because the moment a Heilig Pfeil leaves the body, the Quincy can no longer suppress the spirit power inside the arrow.
If the spirit power is only a little, fine.
But if it's even slightly too much—
The instant it leaves, it should detonate.
And yet—
Cole's Heilig Pfeil kept flying, surging into the clouds. Then its size expanded tens of thousands of times, like a blue lance stabbing toward the sky.
The next second—
The blue lance exploded.
A world-shaking boom rolled through the air. The shockwave's sound echoed across the entire Wandenreich.
The blast's pressure became a violent gale, making the whole city sway. Countless rocks and chunks of rubble were whipped into the air, filling the sky like a sandstorm.
Even the Sternritter had to form spirit-power shields to resist the wind, staring at Cole in shock.
In that brief moment, Cole used Hirenkyaku (Flying Sickle Steps) and appeared right in front of Candice.
Candice felt like she was about to cry. Usually hot-tempered and explosive, she now looked pitiful as she blurted out:
"Cole… don't throw me down again, okay? Down there's basically turning into a field of meteor craters!"
Before the Sternritter arrived, she'd already been smashed down several times by him.
Even now, her head was still buzzing.
Cole flashed a bright smile.
"In that case—are you willing to join the Military Police?"
Candice's face twisted bitterly.
"So there's only that one choice?"
Inside, she was going insane—she wanted nothing more than to beat the living daylights out of this hateful man.
She was a Sternritter. How much water would have to be in her brain to join the Military Police?
From what she knew, the current Military Police were a total has-been—fewer than a hundred Quincy in total.
They were basically living meal to meal.
If she joined, she'd probably have trouble even finding food.
"Then there's no helping it," Cole said with a look of sympathy.
He reached out, grabbed her by the neck, and slammed her down without mercy.
Candice wore an expression of utter despair as her body dropped like a meteor, flames even sparking from the fall.
"Boom!!!"
Another meteor crater appeared on the ground.
After that, Cole rubbed his fist and turned to Liltotto.
"Glutton—have you decided yet?"
Cold sweat streamed down Liltotto's forehead. She had completely given up on the idea of getting revenge with just the few of them against this insane holy weapon.
So she hurriedly looked toward Jugram and the others and shouted:
"Jugram! Cang! Bazz-B! Hurry over and help me restrain this lunatic! He's trying to force us to join the Military Police!"
Hearing that, Bazz-B—who'd already been itching—couldn't hold back anymore. Laughing loudly, he flew over.
"Liltotto, move aside. Let me have a go with him."
The Sternritter whose Seimonji was Shakunetsu (Scorching) immediately entered Kuinshī Forushutendihhi (Complete Holy Form).
A cone-shaped star flare appeared above his head. Flaming, staff-like wings stretched from his back.
Blazing fire ignited around his outstretched hands, and he stood within the flames themselves, eyes burning as he stared at Cole.
"Hey, brat. I'll admit you did okay… but that ends here. Because I'm your opponent."
Liltotto's face went dark. She yelled, "Idiot! What's one person going to do? All of you get in there!"
Just now, the four of them had nearly been beaten into pulp by Cole.
If it was only Bazz-B—
He'd get beaten even worse.
Bazz-B laughed loudly, giving Liltotto a disdainful look.
"You girls are women—of course you can't fight like we men can. Besides, I went through the war a thousand years ago."
Liltotto nearly exploded with anger.
This bastard was not only arrogant—
He was also blatantly sexist.
How had she never noticed it before?
Thinking that, Liltotto just shut her mouth and glared at Bazz-B's back in irritation.
Go ahead. Keep being arrogant.
Once you fight that monster, you'll understand.
Bazz-B, thinking Liltotto agreed with him, only became more smug. He looked at Cole.
"Then I'll beat you by myself!"
As he spoke, a savage heat wave erupted from his body, turning the sky above the ruins into a sea of fire.
All of that flame poured into the two fingers of his right hand, making them glow with terrifying brightness.
"Two fingers should be enough…"
He was arrogant, but he was still a warrior.
And after living for thousands of years, he had the caution he should have.
This was his strongest move—condensing violent flame at the tips of his fingers, ready to fire a scorching strike that pierced straight through an enemy's body.
His strongest state was five fingers—
But he felt two would be enough.
While he was thinking, Cole tilted his head slightly, eyeing the flames with interest.
"I've heard the strongest Shinigami in Soul Society is called Yamamoto… I wonder how your flames compare to his."
Bazz-B's eyes shone with pride.
"Of course my flames are stronger. If I ran into that old man, I'd have my flames swallow his flames whole."
A thousand years ago, he wasn't as strong as he was now, and he hadn't yet mastered the power of a Holy Schrift.
But now—
He believed that with his strength alone, he could defeat Yamamoto, the man who once beat His Majesty.
Cole's expression turned a little strange.
"Then you really are amazing. When we go to war with Seireitei, I'm looking forward to your fight with him."
A completely one-sided fight…
Cole couldn't help thinking that to himself.
During these days in the Wandenreich, he'd discovered something about these Quincy:
They were arrogant. Blindedly arrogant.
It was like, because of their propaganda, the Quincy here had no real understanding of Seireitei's combat power.
As if the moment they went to war, they'd crush everything with overwhelming victory.
They had no idea that if Yhwach didn't exist, that old man Yamamoto—and even any one of the Zero Division—could punch straight through the Wandenreich.
Cole came back to himself and looked at Bazz-B, still radiating arrogance.
He took one step—
And charged.
Bazz-B didn't care at all. Laughing, he pointed both index fingers at Cole.
"Boom!!!"
Two terrifying pillars of flame erupted like volcanic blasts and slammed toward Cole.
Extreme heat raged through the sky, even vaporizing the white clouds into nothing.
But facing this level of attack, Cole didn't even feel like dodging. He rushed straight into the boiling flame pillars.
Only then did he speak, sounding almost amused.
"This level of fire… are you giving me a hot-spring therapy session?"
Bazz-B's flames were, at most, only tens of thousands of degrees. Their real threat was the impact force behind them.
But Yamamoto's flames reached tens of millions of degrees—and the force could carve through all of Seireitei.
When he released Bankai, the temperature of the entire Soul Society would skyrocket.
That was power capable of destroying the world.
And remembering Bazz-B's arrogant bragging just now, Cole couldn't help shaking his head. He clenched his fist and threw it forward.
"Seriously… what a frog at the bottom of a well."
Bang!
A dull, heavy impact sounded.
Bazz-B's cheek twisted and caved in at visible speed, his face warping like something out of a broken animation.
You could even see teeth flying out of his mouth.
The next second—
In the stunned eyes of his companions,
Bazz-B shot backward at tens of thousands of times the speed he came in—so fast it created a sonic boom.
"Boom!!!"
