The next morning, after breakfast, Emiya and his party returned to the Adventurer's Guild to accept a quest.
Riveria and Ais accepted a high-risk quest and left, which left Megumin a bit confused.
"Huh, Riveria and Ais aren't coming with us?"
Kazuma shook his head.
"Listen, Megumin. Riveria and Ais are extremely skilled adventurers. They're on a completely different level than novice adventurers like us. If they came with us, they'd only put us in danger, do you understand?"

Emiya looked at it. It was a quest to defeat kobolds.

Emiya's party had already defeated a number of monsters, so taking on kobolds wouldn't be an issue.
"This is fine," Emiya nodded, and it was settled.
After registering for the quest, the group rode on electric bikes and left Axel, heading toward a nearby hill. There were many caves in the hills away from Axel.
Some of these caves were naturally formed, while others were excavated by the very beings Emiya's party was here to defeat: the kobolds.
Kobolds lived in dark places, like underground or in dense forests. They were excellent miners and often lived in the mines they excavated.
But this didn't mean that kobolds were harmless. In fact, every night, the kobolds would act as a group, attacking nearby villages and kidnapping goats, chickens, ducks, and other animals to sustain their lives.
This brought disaster to many villages, which led to the Adventurer's Guild offering quests to defeat them.
Emiya's party walked around the hill for a while and soon found a cave where kobolds lived, but everyone stood at the entrance without going in.
The main reason was the foul smell. Even standing at the entrance, everyone could smell the foul odor coming from the cave. If they rushed in, they might get knocked out by the stench before they even found the kobolds.
"What should we do now?" Kazuma looked at Aqua.

"You're an Arch-Wizard, right? Hurry up and think of something."
Megumin looked away awkwardly.
"Why are you looking away?"
Megumin pulled her hat down, covering half of her face, and turned to the side. "Even though I'm an Arch-Wizard, I... I only know one magic."
"What? Are you kidding me?"
"Alright, Kazuma. Even though Megumin is an Arch-Wizard, it's true that she only knows one magic.
Many people know this." Emiya waved his hand, signaling Kazuma to stop questioning her.
Kazuma's face was completely crestfallen.
"Let me charge in! This smell and those vulgar kobolds... I can already imagine what will happen to me. Even if I get captured and they do unspeakable things to me, I will never surrender!"
Darkness was so eager that she wanted to rush in immediately and get captured.

"Since you've said so, I'll give you a show. My name is Megumin, the foremost Arch-Wizard of the Crimson Demon Clan. I have mastered the ultimate attack magic... Ouch!"
When Emiya saw her getting all chuunibyou again, he gave her a head chop. "Stop messing around and get started."
Under his pressure, Megumin didn't dare to act chuunibyou anymore and started chanting. The air around Megumin began to vibrate.
Anyone could see how powerful the magic she was about to use was. The sound of her chanting grew louder and louder, and a line of sweat rolled down her temple.

Emiya patted Kazuma on the shoulder. "Now you know
why I wanted you to take care of Megumin."
