Chapter 190 - Chapter 1: The Murder Scene

After learning the skill Invisible Armor from Wiz and chatting with her for a while, Emiya bid her farewell and left the magic item shop.

This time, however, he didn't return to his villa.

Instead, he activated his ability and departed the world entirely.

He was heading for a new one.

As usual, before crossing over, Emiya made thorough preparations. First came a psychic shield, enveloping his body. Next, he layered a Haki-formed defensive barrier on top of it. Then he cast his newly acquired skill, adding Invisible Armor as a third layer of protection.

Finally, his Armament Haki surged.

Four layers of defense stacked together.

At this point, Emiya felt confident enough to jump into lava and swim a few laps. Unless a nuclear bomb detonated right in his face, he believed himself practically indestructible.

Unfortunately, reality once again proved that he was overthinking things.

When Emiya reappeared, he wasn't in a volcano, a battlefield, or a dangerous ruin.

He was standing in a living room.

Before he could take a proper look around, the front door opened.

A group of people walked in.

Men and women, adults and children, tall and short-clearly not a family. More importantly, their faces looked strangely familiar.

The moment they saw Emiya standing there, every single one of them froze in shock.

Before Emiya could say a word, a man with a small mustache rushed toward him.

Without warning, he attacked.

Emiya raised an eyebrow.

Judging by the posture, it wasn't a killing blow-it was an arrest attempt.

That was understandable. From their perspective, a stranger had suddenly appeared inside someone else's house. Trying to restrain him was only natural.

Unfortunately for them, Emiya had never said he wouldn't fight back.

As the mustached man reached for his shoulder, Emiya grabbed his wrist and gave it a slight twist.

In an instant, the man's strength vanished. His balance collapsed.

The next second, Emiya had him pinned face-down on the floor.

And that was when Emiya noticed something he had missed.

A corpse.

It lay right at his feet.

Only now did he understand the horrified expressions on everyone's faces when they had entered.

"...You don't seriously think I'm the murderer, do you?" Emiya asked.

"If it's not you," the mustached man growled from the floor, "then who is it?!"

"Let go of my dad!"

A sharp voice rang out.

A high school-aged girl dashed forward and kicked toward Emiya's head.

It was a clean, textbook karate side kick.

Emiya raised his arm and blocked it without hesitation.

But the moment her leg collided with his guard, his expression shifted slightly.

That kick was absurdly powerful.

Strong enough to send an adult flying. Strong enough to shatter bones. Strong enough to bend steel.

And it came from a slender-looking high school girl.

This was not normal.

Even trained soldiers wouldn't necessarily possess that kind of strength.

Emiya immediately revised his assessment.

This world was definitely not simple.

Perhaps it was one of those worlds where high school students casually shattered physics and saved the day.

The girl didn't seem surprised that her kick had been blocked. She retracted her leg smoothly, let out a short shout, and followed up with a straight punch aimed at Emiya's head.

At the same time, the mustached man beneath Emiya began to struggle in earnest.

This time, Emiya could feel it clearly.

The man was strong.

Very strong.

The reason he'd been subdued so easily earlier was likely because he'd underestimated Emiya and been caught off guard.

Now he was serious.

Emiya sighed.

With a thought, he used his psychic power to immobilize the girl mid-punch, freezing her in place.

Then he drove a punch into the mustached man's lungs.

The impact knocked the air clean out of him.

"-Ghk!"

The man gasped, his strength instantly gone.

Whoosh!

At that moment, a thin needle shot toward Emiya's neck.

Emiya casually raised two fingers and caught it.

He turned his gaze toward where it came from.

There stood a small boy in a blue jacket, white shirt, gray shorts, and a red bowtie, staring at him in horror.

That outfit was far too familiar.

"...Edogawa Conan," Emiya muttered.

Everything clicked into place.

Then he looked down at the man gasping on the floor.

"So you're Mouri Kogoro-the famous, uh, bumbling detective."

He turned his gaze to the immobilized girl.

"And you must be Ran Mouri."

"Who... cough... cough..." Mouri Kogoro wheezed, still struggling to breathe. "Who are you calling bumbling... cough..."

Emiya fell silent.

He released his grip and let Mouri Kogoro get up.

At the same time, he withdrew his psychic power, freeing Ran.

No wonder that kick had been so fierce.

This was Ran Mouri.

The same girl who could casually shatter walls with her fists.

In retrospect, it made perfect sense.

Although Detective Conan appeared to be a detective story on the surface, it was packed with things that completely ignored common sense-instant costume changes, soccer balls that could knock out criminals from hundreds of meters away, and all sorts of other nonsense.

Not to mention that there were actual magic users in this world.

Ran stepped back, positioning herself in front of her father, her eyes filled with vigilance.

Being restrained without physical contact had shaken her more than she wanted to admit.

This wasn't martial arts.

This was something else entirely.

Mouri Kogoro finally caught his breath and glared at Emiya.

"You... who the hell are you?"

Given that Emiya had just insulted his detective skills, his tone was anything but friendly.

Emiya replied calmly, "Strictly speaking, I'm just a passerby."

"A passerby?" Mouri snapped. "Then why are you standing in someone else's living room?!"

Emiya didn't answer immediately.

Instead, his gaze drifted to the couple standing near the entrance.

The man looked ordinary.

But the woman-

Blonde hair, striking beauty.

Recognition flashed in Emiya's eyes.

"...I see," he said softly. "The idol case."

Conan, watching from the side, felt a strange chill.

The way this man spoke-it was as if he had just remembered a plot point from a story he already knew.

As though he had stepped into a book and suddenly recognized the Chapter.

Emiya turned back to them and spoke evenly.

"I'll say this once more. I'm not the murderer."

"This man committed suicide."

"It has nothing to do with me."

Mouri Kogoro frowned.

"You say that, but what proof do you have? We all saw you standing next to the body. Right now, you're the biggest suspect."

Emiya shrugged.

"If I were the killer, my first move wouldn't be to stand here talking."

"I would've knocked all of you out already."

"None of you combined could stop me."

Mouri Kogoro's face flushed with anger.

"You bastard-!"

"What?" Emiya shot back. "Am I wrong?"

"Don't look down on people, you jerk!"

If Ran hadn't grabbed him in time, Mouri Kogoro would've rushed forward again.

Emiya sighed inwardly.

Yeah... this is definitely the Conan world.
