In response to Natsume's question, Emiya replied, "What else could it be? The Type-Moon world, obviously."
Loki sent several frantic images. "How are we supposed to know just from the name?"
Emiya: "Wait a moment."
He returned to his own world, spent some time gathering information on Type-Moon, and then dumped everything into the group chat-the Fourth Holy Grail War, the Fifth Holy Grail War, Today's Menu for the Emiya Family, Tsukihime, The Garden of Sinners, FGO, and more.
The chat fell silent.
Everyone was absorbed in the information.
Using his ability, Emiya returned to Fuyuki City once again.
Almost the moment he arrived, Medea came looking for him.
"Master, where did you go just now? I suddenly couldn't sense you at all."
"A group of online friends wanted some information on the Type-Moon world, so I went back and sent it to them," Emiya said. "Oh, right. This is for you."
He took out a phone and handed it to Medea.
Medea accepted it and examined it, turning it over in her hands.
"So this is what they call a phone. It's a little different from what I remember."
When a Heroic Spirit is summoned, they are granted knowledge of the current era.
However, the Fifth Holy Grail War took place around the year 2000.
At that time, phones were mostly flip models with physical keypads.
Smartphones were still years away, so it was only natural that Medea found the device strange.
Emiya patiently taught her how to use it, step by step.
He downloaded the app, installed it, opened it, registered, and logged her into the group chat.
Medea looked at the long list of names.
"Master, are these all people from other worlds?"
Emiya nodded.
"That's right."
"I think I recognize some of these names."
Aside from Loki, Hestia and Hephaestus were extremely familiar to her.
After all, she herself came from Greek mythology.
Even if she wasn't a hero, but a tragic witch.
Emiya waved his hand.
"Don't worry about it. They're gods from different worlds. Completely different from the Hestia and Hephaestus you know. Take this Hephaestus, for example."
He tapped on Hephaestus's profile picture.
It showed a red-haired, one-eyed goddess.
Medea: "..."
"They really are completely different," she said with a sigh.
Hephaestus had turned into a "Hephaestus."
If the god of forging in this world knew about this, he would probably be overwhelmed with shame.
"So... I might get to meet even more gods in the future?"
"You can," Emiya said with a nod. "You might even see a white-haired l*li Athena."
Medea: "..."
"Master, I honestly can't imagine that."
"Haha. You'll see eventually."
Medea's expression turned subtle, but she seemed to accept it.
She didn't say anything in the group chat.
Putting the phone away, she turned back to Emiya.
"Right, Master. I've found the Emiya residence."
Emiya smiled and snapped his fingers.
"As expected of you. Let's go."
Medea nodded and led Emiya through the streets and alleys of Fuyuki City.
Eventually, they arrived at a quiet residential area.
And found the Emiya house.
That sounded a bit strange.
It was better to just call it Shirou's house.
After arriving, Emiya immediately used Observation Haki to scan the area.
There was no one inside.
The entire house was empty.
Judging by the time, Shirou should still be at school.
But according to the plot, when Shirou goes to school, Artoria should be staying at home.
Yet she wasn't there either.
That meant only one thing.
Shirou hadn't summoned Artoria yet.
Emiya shared his conclusion with Medea.
Medea led him into the courtyard shed and examined the summoning circle.
She knelt down, placed her right hand on it, and nodded.
"That's right. There are no traces of use. Emiya Shirou hasn't summoned King Arthur yet."
Emiya stroked his chin.
"In that case, I can still witness that classic scene."
"What?" Medea looked confused.
Emiya created a purely superficial Excalibur, struck a pose, and said solemnly, with a dignified expression,
"I ask of you. Are you my Master?"
Medea covered her face without thinking.
"Master... are you a child?"
"I'm just expressing my love for a certain character," Emiya said, completely unfazed.
Medea couldn't help laughing.
"Master, it seems you really like King Arthur."
"We're the same," Emiya replied. "Don't you love Artoria too? You even had a whole cabinet of lion dolls, tied Artoria up in a bridal pose, and tried to NTR Emiya Shirou."
Medea: "..."
"Th-that was only to increase our chances of winning the Holy Grail War," she protested weakly.
Emiya smiled and said nothing.
Medea turned her head away.
"Alright. Let's stop talking about this. It's time to prepare."
"Prepare? For what?"
"Please allow me to keep it a secret." Medea smiled mischievously. "In short, I'll give you a big surprise, Master."
"Fine." Emiya didn't press further.
Medea was the kind of person who would give everything as long as you trusted her.
"So what should I do?"
"Nothing. Just leave everything to me."
Emiya: "..."
He watched as Medea busied herself inside the shed, setting up some kind of magical arrangement.
Unfortunately, Emiya knew next to nothing about Type-Moon magecraft.
He couldn't understand any of it.
Still, out of curiosity, he asked Medea to teach him a few basic spells.
The first was Reinforcement Magic.
Reinforcement Magic looked simple, but it was extremely practical.
Rin, after reinforcing herself, could even engage Medea-a Heroic Spirit-in close combat.
In one world, she could even tear a Heroic Spirit apart with her bare hands.
In the original story, a certain teacher, reinforced by Medea, once beat down an incomplete Artoria.
Even though Artoria was weakened due to her contract with Emiya Shirou, she was still a Heroic Spirit.
And yet, she was overwhelmed.
That alone showed how practical Reinforcement Magic really was.
If Emiya had magical energy, learning it would be useful.
First, reinforce his body with magic.
Then coat himself in Armament Haki.
Then add a hardened layer of Haki.
Then Invisible Armor.
And finally, a telekinetic barrier.
Stacked together, his survivability would increase drastically.
If he kept at it, maybe one day he could stand in front of a nuclear explosion and live.
The second spell was Mana Bullet.
Another basic spell.
Compress magical energy into a sphere and release it.
The more magical energy poured in, the stronger the bullet.
If Emiya's magical energy became strong enough, a single Mana Bullet might even rival a nuclear explosion.
Of course, that would require an absurd amount of magical energy.
Something even a Magician might struggle to achieve.
But it wasn't impossible.
After all, the Second Magician, the Marshall of Magecraft, could freely travel between parallel worlds and draw upon their magical energy.
He might be able to push Mana Bullet to that level.
Even so, he probably wouldn't bother.
The spell itself was too crude.
After learning the two spells, Emiya began practicing.
Even though they were minor spells, mastering them still took time.
By the time he finished, night had fully fallen.
His Observation Haki picked up someone approaching the Emiya residence.
Emiya stepped onto the roof and looked down.
A red-haired boy came into view.
Emiya Shirou.
The protagonist of this world.
He looked disheveled.
His clothes were torn and stained with blood, though his body was unharmed.
In his hand was a gemstone necklace.
Seeing this, Emiya immediately understood.
So the story had reached this point.
If nothing went wrong, Shirou had just witnessed Archer and Lancer fighting at the school.
He had been killed by Lancer, Cu Chulainn.
Then revived by Rin Tohsaka using her gemstone magic.
And yet, he still didn't know who saved him.
After stumbling back home, he would soon be hunted again.
And just before death-
He would summon Artoria.
"Medea. Emiya Shirou is back," Emiya returned to the shed. "Cu Chulainn will come for him soon. Are your preparations finished?"
"Of course." Medea smiled brightly. "Master, could you help me with a small favor?"
"What is it?"
"When that big dog comes hunting Emiya Shirou, please stop him."
"I can do that." Emiya nodded.
If it were Berserker Cu Chulainn, he might hesitate.
But Lancer-class Cu Chulainn?
That was manageable.
As for Berserker Cu Chulainn...
Just looking at his face screamed "invincible."
Even if he wasn't truly invincible, with Emiya's current strength, fighting him would be pushing it.
After all, Cu Chulainn was the son of the Celtic sun god.
A born demigod.
Even if, in the story, he never really displayed the full dignity of one.
Compared to another demigod like Karna, he wasn't even in the same league.
