Following Medea's instructions, Emiya went into hiding.
Not long after, Emiya Shirou returned to his house.
Before he could even catch his breath, CĂș Chulainn dropped from the sky and smashed straight in, startling Emiya Shirou.
The intruder, however, looked more annoyed than surprised.
"Tsk. Killing the same person twice in one day... sorry, kid. You've only got yourself to blame."
"Now!"
Medea's voice rang out at that instant.
The moment he heard it, Emiya burst from his hiding place.
He reinforced his body with Reinforcement Magic, coated his arms in Armament Haki, activated Invisible Armor, and wrapped himself fully in Haki.
"Take this punch!"
He surged forward without slowing, his fist swinging straight toward CĂș Chulainn's chest.
CĂș Chulainn was first startled by Medea's voice.
Then he saw Emiya appear from the side, moving like lightning.
He reacted immediately, lifting his demonic spear to block his chest.
BANG!
Emiya's black iron fist smashed into the demonic spear, releasing a terrifying impact.
"What?!"
CĂș Chulainn's eyes widened at the sheer power.
This was a force he hadn't felt in a very long time.
He lost his footing and was blasted out of the house.
Emiya followed without pause,äžç»ing CĂș Chulainn even a moment to recover, launching into a relentless barrage of blows.
In terms of combat experience, Emiya wasn't even qualified to carry CĂș Chulainn's shoes.
Since arriving in this world, how many battles had Emiya fought?
And CĂș Chulainn?
His master was the queen of the Land of Shadows, the legendary ScĂĄthach.
From the very beginning, he received brutal training, beaten endlessly by ScĂĄthach herself.
Only after earning her recognition did he graduate and step onto the battlefield as a true warrior.
During the war between Ulster and Connacht, CĂș Chulainn alone held the collapsing Ulster army together for seven years, fighting the combined forces of three kingdoms advancing from Connacht.
Calling him battle-hardened wasn't exaggeration.
A warrior like that possessed terrifying combat instincts.
If Emiya gave him even a moment to counterattack, he would be played with by sheer experience alone.
So Emiya had no choice.
He adopted the strategy of "beating the master with wild punches."
After the ambush, he unleashed a storm of fists.
He clung to CĂș Chulainn relentlessly, never allowing him the space to strike back.
Objectively speaking, Emiya's approach was correct.
Under the pressure of overwhelming punches, CĂș Chulainn couldn't widen the distance or reset his stance.
He could only block, forced to endure Emiya's unreasonable assault.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Fist and spear collided again and again.
Violent shockwaves tore through the air, ripping up the ground and flinging dirt everywhere.
The courtyard of the Emiya residence was completely destroyed, craters littering every corner.
But Emiya soon noticed something was wrong.
His attacks were fierce.
Yet CĂș Chulainn was adapting.
From frantic defense to measured responses.
If this continued, a decisive counterattack was only a matter of time.
At that moment, an idea flashed through Emiya's mind.
"Hey," Emiya said, maintaining his tempo as his fists continued to rain down. "Do you know Karna?"
CĂș Chulainn didn't answer, using his demonic spear to deflect every blow.
"He's the son of the sun god," Emiya continued. "Just like you."
A flicker of surprise crossed CĂș Chulainn's eyes.
He finally spoke.
"So you know who I am."
"Celtic mythology. Son of the sun god. Your name is CĂș Chulainn-the Mad Dog."
A grin spread across CĂș Chulainn's face as he calmly endured the assault.
"To recognize me at a glance... are humans really this scary now?"
He was certain he hadn't used his Noble Phantasm or revealed anything that should expose his identity.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
The ground beneath them shattered further, shockwaves blasting outward.
Emiya's punches grew faster.
CĂș Chulainn's blocks grew cleaner.
Seeing this, Emiya changed tactics.
He started attacking verbally instead.
"Back to Karna. The 'Little Sun.' Son of the sun god Surya in Indian mythology. Compared to him, you're far weaker."
"He's a top-tier Heroic Spirit. His innate abilities and Noble Phantasms are all absurd."
"Your GĂĄe Bolg reverses causality. Sounds impressive. But it's just an Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm."
"Karna's are on a completely different level."
"Kavacha and Kundala-Anti-Unit."
"Brahmastra-Anti-Army."
"Brahmastra Kundala-Anti-Country."
"And on top of that, an Anti-Divine Noble Phantasm."
"Vasavi Shakti."
"Anti-Unit. Anti-Army. Anti-Country. Anti-Divine."
"That's what a proper son of the sun god looks like."
"So tell me, CĂș Chulainn. What do you have besides GĂĄe Bolg?"
"A spear that pierces and kills? Even as an Anti-Army Noble Phantasm, it's inferior to Karna's."
"You really don't have much reputation, do you?"
Amid the flood of punches and words, CĂș Chulainn finally found an opening.
He swept his spear sideways.
THUD.
The strike slammed into Emiya's chest, sending him flying.
However, protected by Telekinesis, Invisible Armor, Hardening, and Armament Haki, Emiya suffered no real damage.
He was merely knocked away.
That alone told Emiya something.
His trash talk had done absolutely nothing.
CĂș Chulainn didn't pursue.
Instead, he stood where he was, watching Emiya rise.
"You're interesting," he said. "We just met, yet you exposed my identity and laid out my trump cards. I'm curious."
He lowered the tip of his demonic spear to the ground.
"How do you know all this? Tell me, warrior of this era."
Seeing that stance, Emiya instinctively reinforced his chest with Armament Haki.
"If I don't answer," Emiya said, "are you going to pierce my heart with your Noble Phantasm?"
"Maybe not the heart," CĂș Chulainn replied. "The throat might be better."
Emiya's eyebrow twitched.
"If I remember right," Emiya said, "your cowardly Master told you that once your identity is exposed, you should retreat immediately."
CĂș Chulainn froze.
Disbelief filled his expression.
"You even know that? What are you-someone with Mystic Eyes that see the past, or Clairvoyance that sees the future?"
Emiya was about to respond.
Then-
A massive surge of magical energy erupted from the shed.
Both of them turned at the same time.
A new Heroic Spirit had arrived.
It seemed Emiya Shirou had successfully summoned Artoria.
CĂș Chulainn reacted instantly and prepared to withdraw.
If he stayed, he risked being surrounded by Emiya and an unknown Servant.
That would be dangerous.
"Wait!" Emiya called out.
CĂș Chulainn leapt onto the roof, baring a ferocious grin.
"What? Trying to stop me?"
"No," Emiya said quickly. "I want to recruit you."
"You're not happy working under Kirei Kotomine, are you? I can break the contract between you and him."
CĂș Chulainn stiffened.
Seeing that he hadn't left, Emiya knew he'd struck something.
"I admire you," Emiya said earnestly. "Why not make a contract with me? You don't like Kirei Kotomine anyway."
The true Master of CĂș Chulainn in the Fifth Holy Grail War wasn't Kirei Kotomine.
It was Bazett Fraga McRemitz.
A tomboy magus and descendant of the Red Branch Knights-the same knights CĂș Chulainn served in life.
Kotomine, acting as supervisor, had recommended her participation.
Bazett arrived in Fuyuki eight days before the war and settled into a haunted mansion.
She ordered CĂș Chulainn to conduct reconnaissance.
Later, Kotomine visited under the pretense of "discussion."
Trusting him, Bazett welcomed him.
He ambushed her.
After defeating her, Kotomine severed her left arm along with her Command Seals while CĂș Chulainn was away.
He didn't kill her.
He left her to die.
When CĂș Chulainn returned, his Master had already changed.
From Bazett.
To Kirei Kotomine.
That was why CĂș Chulainn felt nothing but disgust toward him.
He obeyed only because of the Command Seals.
Now, hearing Emiya say he could sever that contract, CĂș Chulainn hesitated.
"You're not lying to trap me, are you?" he asked. "Planning to gang up on me with that new Heroic Spirit?"
"No," a voice answered calmly.
"My Master would never do that."
Butterflies swirled out of thin air, gathering into a human shape.
Medea appeared.
"If you're wondering why," she continued, "with my Master and me together, you never had a chance to escape from the beginning."
CĂș Chulainn clicked his tongue.
"So there's another one. Hiding your presence this cleanly... you must be a Caster."
Medea nodded.
"That's right. I'm the Caster of this Holy Grail War."
She smiled faintly.
"So, what do you say, big dog?"
"Become my Master's Heroic Spirit."
"In return, I'll help you save Bazett."
