The next day, Yujiro rose up late in comparison to his usual routine, but still it was hours before the beginning of the chunin exams.
So unlike he usually, he made a lavish breakfast for himself.
After he had eaten his breakfast, he relaxed for a while before he rose up, gathered all of the stuff and headed straight to the Konoha ninja academy.
As he neared the academy he could see Hyori and Mujin, waiting for him before the gates of the academy.
When they noticed him, Hyori immediately started complaining.
"Why are you so late?
Does this Chunin exam have so little interest to you?"
After Hyori got enough of complaining to him, they entered the academy together.
Unlike in the original story, there were no extra genjutsu before entering the classroom.
So they smoothly entered the classroom.
When Yujiro scanned the classroom, there were no other ninjas from the other 4 great nations.
Instead, most of the ninjas in there were ninjas from Konoha itself, other ninjas were just from the smaller villages of Grass, Rain, Waterfall, Rivers and alike.
And from what Yujiro could see with his Byakugan, of the ninjas in the classroom none of their chakra surpassed his own, but he wasn't 100% sure, since the amount of chakra a person naturally upkeeps in their body, can be reduced.
Though this required one to be a chakra sensor.
When the clock hit 9 AM, the bell rang and a Jonin appeared in front of the classroom.
When Yujiro heard the ringing of the clock and the appearance of the examiner.
He didn't react very strongly, but he started to feel that something was wrong.
At the same time, Hyori, who was a seat ahead and right of him, had a reaction. When Yujiro paid attention to her, it looked like she knew who the examiner was.
When the examiner appeared, he immediately started his speech.
"I am the examiner of the first phase of this Chunin exam.
In this phase of the exam, no violence is permitted and no cheating is allowed, if caught it will mean instantaneous failure of the chunin exam…"
While the examiner was explaining the rules while gesturing with his hands.
Yujiro himself had a funny idea due to the rules the examiner set.
'Hehe, so if I secretly knocked out every single person in this classroom, would that mean that our team would immediately advance to the third stage of the chunin exams?'
In total the rules were practically the same in comparison to the original chunin exam, the only difference in practice was that no cheating was allowed, instead how it was encouraged in the original series.
When the examiners were setting the test papers in front of him, the Jonin examiner was still talking and gesturing.
After the test finally began, the Jonin examiner finally stopped talking and gesturing.
Almost immediately all of the examinees flipped the two papers around, and when they saw the questions they were all dumbfounded, at the same time the feeling that made Yujiro feel like something was wrong was ringing warning alarms in Yujiro's mind.
The reason people were extremely dumbfounded was because the 20 questions in the papers were extremely easy.
And they had half an hour to answer those questions.
At the same time that other exam candidates were answering the questions, Yujiro was thinking.
'Something isnt right, my instincts have been constantly warning me about it.'
While he was analyzing what was wrong, he connected the reaction Hyori had when she saw the examiner.
'Genjutsu?'
When he came to this conclusion, he instinctively disrupted his chakra while looking at Hyori's direction.
He saw that she was trying to give them hints subtly.
When he looked down again, he could see that the questions on the paper had changed to some common sense of the ninja world.
When he saw this he disrupted his chakra multiple times to make sure that he wasn't under genjutsu.
When the questions didn't change he was relieved.
After he solved his problem with the genjutsu he poured chakra to Mujin next to him.
As Mujin saw that the questions had suddenly changed, he was startled, and like Yujiro by instinct disrupted his chakra.
Unlike Yujiro who did this due to fact that he noticed that this was a genjutsu, Mujin did this purely due to the trauma Hyori had inflicted on him.
After Yujiro discovered the genjutsu he began answering the questions, while he was answering the questions, he was also disrupting his chakra regularly.
But what consumed most of his attention was his analysis on the reason he was caught in a genjutsu.
'The reason I was caught in a genjutsu, for one is that I wasn't using my Byakugan or sensing while I was being affected by Genjutsu.
And the more specific reason was because I had became overconfident.
I have become used to using Byakugan to resist genjutsu, and while I'm not using it, my resistance to genjutsu is reduced immensely.
And the last reason why I was even affected by Genjutsu was because it was a sound based genjutsu, which my unactivated Byakugan doesn't provide any defense against.
And the fact that we didn't see the papers contents before flipping them over allowed him to make what ever questions he wanted, without allowing us to realize that they were tampered.'
After finding out the reason why he fell into the genjutsu, he made a resolve to fix this after the chunin exams were over.
After the full 30 minutes were up, the examiner clapped his hands which ended the genjutsu.
This clap made every examinee look at the examiner in front of the class.
But when he didn't say anything for a moment, many of them looked down at the test papers, and saw that the questions were complitely different than, what they were when they were answering the questions.
And like Yujiro had predicted, all of the people who didn't realize that they were under genjutsu immediately started protesting.
