She clutched her staff harder, looking down at Deidre busy drooling over the packaged sugary bread.
Elian too, glanced at the girl. She wasn't odd or anything. To him, Deidre looked like any normal nine year old kid.
Apart from the fact that she pulled out a fucking pistol at the ugly merchant out of nowhere… and the weird talk about how the 'Eye of Kai' was in her belly.
Maybe she wasn't that normal like he'd claimed.
He turned to Jupiter. "Why?" He asked.
Jupiter leaned on her staff. The loud buzzing of the market square still carried on. She lazily flickered her eyes. "I am a Bishop. I can see through any system. Remember how I knew you killed Hart?" She leaned in closer.
"Again, I didn't kill him." Elian lied through his teeth. There wasn't even a flicker of guilt nor remorse for his past action.
