Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: Turning Up the Heat on Revenge Against the Third

Chapter 222: Turning Up the Heat on Revenge Against the Third

Especially spatial abilities.

That was one of the reasons why Li Yao had agreed to Black Zetsu's request not to interfere with their and Madara's plan.

Li Yao needed stronger space-based abilities. If possible, he even wanted to refine a true spatial chakra.

The chakra formed from the fusion of the Reverse Four Symbols Sealing and storage-space chakra did contain spatial traits, but it still wasn't true spatial chakra.

True spatial chakra should be like Water Release chakra that can form actual water. It should be able to create actual space—or at the very least, allow him to manipulate space freely.

Spatial teleportation, dimensional slashes, space storage—Li Yao wanted to wield all these abilities as easily as casting a water-style jutsu.

To refine true spatial chakra, Li Yao needed to master more space-time jutsu.

Obito's Kamui was extremely powerful and rich in spatial potential. His Mangekyō Sharingan's ocular chakra definitely contained high-level spatial chakra transformations.

Absorbing those spatial chakra patterns would help Li Yao develop true spatial chakra.

So, to ensure the Kamui Mangekyō Sharingan came into existence, Li Yao decided to let Madara—the saddest chess piece of all—continue laying the groundwork.

Li Yao had no desire to guide Obito himself.

Once the Kamui eye awakened, he would swoop in, copy the ocular chakra, and obtain the Kamui spatial ability.

For now, let Madara and Black Zetsu keep dancing.

Also, now that Li Yao had uncovered the true nature of the shinobi world, his perspective had changed.

Originally, after destroying the Rinnegan, he had planned to begin his revenge against the Third Hokage.

Now, that plan would have to wait.

Or rather, it would need to be carried out more subtly—not with the same brute force he'd envisioned before.

Until the Kamui eye was born, he couldn't let anything major happen to Konoha.

In the meantime, he would continue to grow stronger—and perfect his Transformation Jutsu.

To kill all the Sarutobi men and leave only the Third behind… and to imprison all the Sarutobi women…

To achieve that, his Uchiha clone would have to become Hokage.

But making that happen wouldn't be quick.

Looking at the example of the Lightning Clone—Sakumo Hatake—it was clear.

His Uchiha clone would need at least one Shinobi World War to earn a name big enough to run for Hokage.

Then, Li Yao could seize the opportunity to purge the entire Sarutobi faction.

With the Uchiha as Konoha's strongest clan, and his clone as a war hero, becoming Hokage would be a natural next step.

At that point, the Sarutobi women—and the Third himself—would be entirely at his mercy.

"But with this new timeline, revenge on the Third probably has to wait until after the Third Shinobi World War."

Li Yao frowned. The idea of letting Hiruzen live in peace for a few more years annoyed him. But to guarantee the Kamui's success, he had no choice but to wait.

He didn't understand Obito—or the exact emotional trigger required for an Uchiha to awaken the Mangekyō.

If he interfered and the timing was off, Obito might awaken a different Mangekyō—not Kamui. That would be even worse.

"Fine, I'll wait."

"But… if the Third gets to enjoy peace a few more years, I'll just have to make the revenge much more twisted to compensate."

"What would really break him mentally and emotionally?"

Li Yao's mind began spinning. As someone from the modern world, he knew a lot of disturbing ideas. He'd watched some morally twisted anime and films.

Hannibal came to mind.

The grotesque "Human Centipede" had some artistic merit.

Even beast-human hybrids seemed like an option.

Heh…

The more he thought, the more his grin twisted into something cruel and demented.

Hiruzen Sarutobi—look at Li Yao now. His "love" for you ran deep. He wanted to try every disturbing idea imaginable… on you.

Let's hope the Third lives long enough to enjoy the full experience.

"Uncle!"

Chasing behind him, Koyuki saw the deranged grin on Li Yao's face. Even after everything she'd endured—various experiments, trauma—her body still shivered instinctively.

Just a shiver. Then she relaxed.

No matter what, he was still her uncle. Her family. Her only man.

"Come here," Li Yao said as he wiped the crazed smile from his face and called to her gently.

Koyuki leapt forward, landing on the clay bird's back and wrapping her arms tightly around him. She didn't care that he had possessed another body and was technically a different person now.

Either her adaptability was too high…

Or she cared too deeply for Li Yao.

Clearly, it was the latter.

"Uncle… sob sob!"

"I'm so glad you're okay."

Only after physically feeling his warmth did Koyuki's heart finally settle. So much had happened today, so suddenly.

He'd abruptly left Akatsuki, possessed a new body, then clashed with a legendary Uchiha warrior.

She'd even witnessed him seemingly being killed by the Light Fang attack—nearly giving her a heart attack.

Thank goodness.

Thank goodness he survived.

Li Yao gently held her hands. He didn't say a word.

The clay bird changed course and flew toward the source of his "good son's" chakra in Konoha.

This new body lacked potential. The chakra reserves were too low. He needed a better one.

And the son he accidentally created was perfect.

He could already sense that the boy's chakra output far exceeded even Koyuki's.

"Danzo or the Third… or maybe both," Li Yao mused.

"Thanks for the experiments you conducted on my good son."

He smiled faintly. He didn't need to think much—he knew they must've implanted Hashirama's Wood Release cells into the boy—and it had succeeded.

A body like that? He wasn't going to let it go to waste.

"Uncle."

After holding him for a long time, Koyuki finally felt a bit of discomfort. She let go of Li Yao.

This body was so different from the one she'd known.

Li Yao noticed and activated his Perfect Transformation Jutsu, reverting his appearance to that of Kimura Yao.

"Huh… it really works!"

He felt the explosive strength throughout his body. His senses were razor-sharp. His neural responses were top-tier.

After using the technique to become Kimura Yao again, even his physical strength was restored to that of his original body.

Which meant—his taijutsu capabilities had returned to Kage-level.

If he had done this during his fight with Madara, dodging would have been far easier.

"Shame… the chakra levels didn't change."

He checked his internal chakra and sighed. Though his body now felt like Kimura Yao's, it didn't possess the same massive life force—so he couldn't generate as much chakra.

After all, Transformation Jutsu was still just a jutsu.

It didn't truly replicate Kimura Yao's genes or biology.

In the end, this transformed Kimura Yao was just an illusion—not the real deal.

Which was reasonable.

If the technique really were that broken, he wouldn't need to fear the Ōtsutsuki at all. He could just copy one and instantly gain their power.
