"Okay, I don't know what that awkward conversation was between you and Salvatore, but he's gone now. So you can talk to me and tell me what is clearly bothering you," Natalia said to Valentina as soon as the door to the lounge closed.
Valentina picked up a new bottle of water first, and chugged it down her throat.
"I've made up my mind." She dropped the empty bottle on the table.
"You've made up your mind? What does that even mean?"
"I'm getting rid of the baby."
"Valentina!" Alarmed, Natalia screamed out her full name.
"I tried Natty! I fucking tried. Deep down I thought that since I wasn't freaking out anymore, it meant I had come to terms with the facts. But I haven't! I fucking haven't. I was so sick for like five days straight, I barely felt my heart beating. That's just the carrying stage and I'm not even quarter way there. Imagine when the kid is here. How–how do I raise a child?"
