Chapter 9 Part 3 Pain and Intimacy

Startled, she checked her motion; he suckled hard, teeth grazing through the cloth. The sensitive bite made her body wilt, but she quickly controlled herself. "If you dare molest me again, I'll kill you now."

Sensing her genuine anger, Shaoyu held her but stopped teasing. They remained in an intimate grapple.

She giggled. "If you like me, join Quicksand. Win merit and beg Lord Wei Zhuang to grant me to you; we'll fly together how delightful. Xiang heir's heroism I remember it well."

"Slut," Shaoyu cursed inwardly. "Wei Zhuang isn't worthy to command me."

At the shame to Wei Zhuang, Chi Lian's voice iced. "Enough nonsense. Bring the Mohist Juzi to the Mirage, and we'll give you Dragonche."

"Why go to the Mirage? The Yinyang School guards it suicide."

"If we wanted you dead, we'd not bother with this. Just get up there; you'll be received."

"Ridiculous who trusts Quicksand?"

"Then you're abandoning Dragonche's life."

"I don't sell friends. I'll fight you now let's see what Quicksand can do."

Suddenly his strength left him. Chi Lian shoved him; he fell, and she kicked him several times.

"Idiot think I'm that easy?" She eyed him wickedly, intent on teaching him a lesson then her gaze caught on the tent straining his pants; she paused, face flushing with anger and shame. Even in this, his body reacted.

Smirking, she stripped down his trousers and grasped his cock, stroking up and down. The heat made her shiver memories of being made to climax by the two of them angered her further.

Under her soft hand, Shaoyu's cock swelled again; Chi Lian's voice sweetened with a venom-laced coo. "Feels good? Join Quicksand pleasure every day."

Pre-cum beaded; she felt it on her palm.

"Fine if Chi Lian will let me fuck her every day, perhaps I'll join," he teased; she heard the mockery.

"Refuse the toast and drink the forfeit," she hissed. A green-spotted serpent slid down her arm to coil on her wrist, tongue flicking to lick Shaoyu's cock.

Instantly, Shaoyu's lust evaporated; his cock softened in her hand. She stared, then burst into delighted laughter, her resentment easing.

Shaoyu flushed; his humiliation burned.

"Think it over. We won't send you to your death. On the Mirage, you'll gain much."

She turned on her heel and left, ignoring him.

According to plan, Chi Lian then found Wushuang. Yin Bat had already subjugated him; Wushuang had blacked out, and Gongshu Chou was present.

"Miss Chi Lian, I have modified Wushuang per Lord Wei Zhuang's orders; may I take my leave?"

"On behalf of Lord Wei Zhuang, I thank you. Go on."

"Not at all serving Lord Wei Zhuang is my honor," Gongshu Chou said humbly.

After he left, Chi Lian had Yin Bat wake Wushuang; inside, Yin Bat was cursing, "Arrogant bitch."

"Wushuang, you think you can betray Lord Wei Zhuang?" Chi Lian's voice grew cold as she looked down. Wushuang panted.

"Quicksand abandoned me," his eyes said.

"Quicksand does not keep the useless," she replied. "You have two choices: continue serving Lord Wei Zhuang or we destroy you and all you care about."

Wushuang's massive axe began to spin; eyes narrowed, Chi Lian and Yin Bat tensed.

He looked at the "Tianming" carved into his shoulder, then gazed at Chi Lian with pleading eyes.

"Heh," Chi Lian sneered. "I will tell Lord Wei Zhuang your request. Stay with the Mohists await his summons."

Despite imperial troops closing in, the Little Sage Manor still echoed with recitations, thanks to the composed leadership of Confucian heads. Many Qi nobles had removed their children; those remaining intended to share the Confucians' fate. Morale held.

Zhang Liang noticed Shaoyu distracted and frowned slightly. Unlike Tianming, Shaoyu excelled in class. At such a time, any anomaly mattered; after morning readings, he kept Shaoyu back.

Shaoyu hadn't planned to speak; word said Zhang Liang and Wei Zhuang had been friends. He was no Tianming he made his own judgments. But Zhang Liang's gentle smile and keen eyes softened his guard.

He countered, "Master, rumor says you and Wei Zhuang are friends is it true?"

"That's no secret," Zhang Liang replied gently. "I was close with Han Fei, Wei Zhuang, and Princess Honglian. After Han Fei died and Korea fell, Wei Zhuang and Honglian founded Quicksand, and I came to Qi to study."

"So Chi Lian truly is a Korean princess."

"In those days, she matched her name fiery as red lotus, pure as a lotus bloom. I never thought she'd become this," Zhang Liang sighed.

His openness calmed Shaoyu at least Zhang Liang wasn't on Wei Zhuang's side.

"Yesterday Chi Lian demanded I bring Tianming to the Mirage, threatening Dragonche's life. Do you know why?"

Zhang Liang frowned, thought, and answered. "Wei Zhuang is lordly and inscrutable. Since he raised this, he'll force it either way. As for Dragonche, don't fret Wei Zhuang squeezes every ounce of use; if you're useful, he won't kill you." He didn't even call him "brother," revealing his displeasure.

"The rest is murky, but one thing is certain: he means to sow discord between you and the Mohists. Tell Tianming and the Mohists everything be an open book."

"If forced, and you end up on the Mirage prioritize survival. The Yinyang School isn't the Empire it doesn't necessarily mean death."

As Shaoyu left, Zhang Liang sighed. "None can sit still."

Shaoyu then told Tianming and Stone Orchid everything, including Chi Lian's approach, though he hid the part about losing his erection in fear.

Unexpectedly, Tianming vehemently opposed informing the Mohists, anticipating they'd forbid them from risking and lock them up.

For days, Tianming had obsessed over saving Yue'er; the Mohists had no plan. Hearing Shaoyu, he now fancied using Wei Zhuang to save Yue'er.

Shaoyu argued patiently Quicksand could never be trusted. If they obeyed, they might die without knowing how.

Stone Orchid proposed another path. In Shu, there was the Same-Life Curse, binding several lives as one if one died, all died. Used among spouses, it was called the Mandarin-Duck Curse.

If Quicksand agreed to share the curse, then going to the Mirage wasn't impossible.

They chose Chi Lian closest to Wei Zhuang to receive it. Stone Orchid blushed, explaining the two methods: brew a rare Shu seed into blood for both to drink or stealthily embed the seed in oneself, then transfer it at mutual climax.

Shaoyu grimaced inwardly; from her look, if he married her, she'd plant it whether he liked it or not.

They assigned Shaoyu to plant it; Stone Orchid embedded the seed, teaching him to form and transfer it.

When they proposed it to Chi Lian, she refused until Shaoyu and Tianming insisted, ready to break with her; to complete Wei Zhuang's task and having already been jointly violated by them Chi Lian, frustrated and self-spiting, agreed but posed a condition: Stone Orchid must let Tianming take her as well.

With sharp eyes, she'd already seen Stone Orchid and Shaoyu's bond; she wanted to spoil it to sting them.

She didn't know their triangle had long grown complicated; Stone Orchid had been tag-teamed by them countless times. They pretended reluctance; her insistence only grew. Her heart, wounded, envied others' happiness.
