Helping him stand up, I realize that this is the first time I have ever interacted with a hero.
Sure back in my home (dc) universe they were always on the news and I could read about them online, but it's different to actually interact with one.
"Come, we need to go before more guards appear."
... "Ok"
Making our way to the door I decide to put some magic into my ear. Immediately I begin to hear fighting occurring on the other side.
Seeing that I stopped Mr. Incredible asked me "What's wrong?"
... "Someone is fighting in the hallway"
"Huh? Did you come with someone else."
"No, did you?"
"No" Answered Mr. Incredible, he then rotates his shoulders preparing for a fight. Meanwhile I make a gun gesture with my left pointer finger preparing to zap whoever comes through the door.
THUD
Something large just hit the door.
pew pew pew pew pew pew pew "ah!"
Several guns shots ring out before the hallway goes silent. Then the door opens with a guard, standing in front of the door, falling to the ground.
A female voice calls out "Well... I guess this is something else you are going to have to explain."
Standing in front of us is a woman in a similar costume as Mr. Incredible and she looks both pissed and relieved.
Mr. Incredible looks surprise and asks "Honey? ... How?"
"Save it, if anyone is going to ask questions it is going to be me" Says the woman as we walk towards her.
While the two of them begin to talk I continue to inspect the hallway and wow... this woman has some mad skills.
Other than the five original guards I took down, another six are scattered around the hallway. The battle must have been intense as I can see several cartridge cases and bullet holes all around the hallway, but not a single scratch on her.
"Don't think this conversation is over, but right now we have other problems."
Sigh "Yes honey. Now I would like you to meet... you never introduced yourself"
Turning back around I see both of the heroes looking at me. I pull out my cover ID and address them.
"Carmen, junior analyst of the Super Relocation Program."
"Aren't you a little young to work for a secret government agency?"
"Yes... Yes I am"
"Well I am Mr. Incredible and this is Elastigirl"
"Nice to meet you both. I came to investigate the connection between several missing heroes and the company that operates on this island. And why are you two here? You guys are supposed to be retired."
Elastigirl looks towards Mr. Incredible who answers.
"I was offered a job to be a hero again and came to this island to fight a rogue robot unit, which I defeated. With the payment I received I was able to improve my families lives and returned when they called again."
"But this time it was a trap. A young man I used to know, during my hero days, has been plotting revenge for years, due to how I treated him. He has been developing a robot, which he plans to release on a city to spread chaos."
Listening to Mr. Incredible speak, I remember the man with the white S on a black bodysuit and the giant spherical robot I saw in the jungle.
"How is this related to missing heroes?"
Mr. Incredible's expression saddens as he mentions the files he discovered that listed the number of heroes called and eliminated
It is sickening to think about all those heroes who fell prey to a madman.
"What do you plan to do now?"
This time Elastigirl answered "First we need to locate our children, they are outside the compound. Then we need to find a way to stop the launch or warn the authorities. Do you have a communicator?"
"Unfortunately no, I had to carry very little to reach this island undetected, but I do know the emergency number for my superiors, they have enough clout to sound the alarm."
"Ok then we need to split up. We will head outside to get our children, while you find a communicator to contact your superiors. You going to be alright on your own?"
"Don't worry I might not be a hero, but I have plenty of experience sneaking around. Good luck"
You too, stay safe!"
We then run in different directions. I don't know how much time is left before liftoff, but I am going to do everything I can.
