Chapter 88 - Hiko x Ai - 88: Possessiveness

"Becoming indifferent to other things and unable to solve difficulties on her own," Miyako recounted the changes Ai would undergo due to Hiko's influence.

"It's not that exaggerated, is it?"

Hiko heard Miyako's words and felt she was just trying to scare him.

"You don't believe me?" Seeing Hiko's disbelieving expression, Miyako continued, "Didn't you just talk with your uncle... Ichigo, and say he caused damage to Ai's group?"

After speaking, Miyako looked at Hiko, seeking his confirmation.

Hiko nodded.

Miyako saw Hiko nod and continued, "Ichigo wouldn't have been like this before. If he knew he made a mistake back then, he would definitely try to make amends or fix the situation, instead of simply saying he'll cooperate with you and give you authority, like he does now."

"If it were the old him, he would at least give you a contingency plan. But now, he just lets you handle it directly. He's too lazy to think anymore."

"Because Ichigo knows you're excellent and care about Ai, he's sure you'll come up with a suitable solution, so he just lets you handle everything without even thinking."

"Even Ichigo, an adult, has almost given up his ability for independent thinking because of interacting with you. Let alone Ai, who is still a minor?"

Miyako paused to rest. "Normally, if it were an ordinary child, even if she trusted you, it would be fine. But Ai is not an ordinary child."

"I've lived under the same roof with her for a month. Every time I talked to her, she would always reply with things I liked to hear, but she never revealed her true thoughts."

"I don't know how you get along with her, but her level of trust and dependence on you even exceeds mine and Ichigo's. And that's not a good thing."

"Trust is certainly a good thing, but she's also particularly dependent on you. Therefore, every word you say could change her and have a profound impact on her."

"Perhaps hearing this, you might secretly rejoice in your heart, 'She likes me, I like her, isn't that great?'"

"But this is not a good thing. If it continues to develop this way, she'll become more and more dependent on you, wanting to be with you all the time, regardless of the occasion, becoming extremely possessive."

"If, in the future, you get angry at her clinginess for a moment and say something like 'leave me alone' or 'get away,' it will make her anxious, and she might even think you're going to abandon her. Then, because of that painful feeling, she might do something irrational..."

"She might even self-destruct, or worry that you'll leave her, and she'll want you to stay by her side forever..."

Miyako felt that by explaining it this way, Hiko should understand the seriousness of the situation.

As Hiko listened to Miyako's description, the more he listened, the more he felt that what she was describing was basically "because of his excessive interference, Ai became a yandere."

After Miyako's reminder, Hiko recalled and realized that during this time, he had indeed instilled a large amount of life philosophy into her during their study breaks, and also helped her with ideas for dealing with team members. After clarifying the situation, he replied to Miyako, "I think you're exaggerating, but I'll pay attention from now on."

Miyako was satisfied with Hiko's answer. "It's good that you understand, so you shouldn't come with us today, okay?"

Hiko sighed inwardly, then said, "Then I won't go. I'll say goodbye to her later and go home."

Miyako nodded, then pressed down on the doorknob of the office, opening the door. She then poked her head in and said, "Ai, I'll wait for you at the station. I'm heading out first."

Ai heard Miyako's words and replied, "I understand."

After receiving Ai's reply, Miyako left the company and headed toward the station.

Although Hiko somewhat agreed with Miyako's words, he didn't think it was as extreme as she said. However, he still said to Ai, "Ai, Miyako came specifically to accompany you today, so I'll go home, alright?"

Ai heard Hiko speak to her in an uncertain tone and felt confused. She looked at him with a bewildered gaze and asked, "You're going home, why are you asking me?"

"Didn't I tell you last night that Miyako wasn't free, which is why she asked me to take you?"

Hiko organized his thoughts and grumbled to Ai, "She came specially to take you out to play today, so she doesn't need me anymore. She told me to go home and rest quickly and even said I was in the way and forbade me from going with you two. She said I'd disturb her time with lovely you. It's really too much."

Ai was at a loss for how to reply to Hiko for a moment, so she just looked at him, waiting for him to continue speaking.

"I also think you're in the way. Hurry home. Don't disturb Miyako and me taking Ai out to play," Ichigo seized the opportunity to interject.

"You're the one in the way, uncle. You should go meet Miyako," Hiko said, making a shooing gesture at Ichigo.
