Chapter 29 - The Night Walk

I couldn't sleep. The walls of the bedroom felt like they were closing in.

So I got up, put on my hoodie, and went for a walk in the middle of the night.

The streets were almost empty. The sound of my own footsteps was too loud.

I wondered how many men had walked like this — quiet, broken, planning things they couldn't tell anyone.

A dog barked at me from behind a gate. I barked back. I actually laughed after that — a dry, ugly laugh.

Guess I was losing my mind a bit.
