The last remaining member of the hunting squad shivered in a corner, his mind on the verge of collapse.
He kept muttering, "Lord, protect me. I deserve to die a thousand deaths, I deserve to go to hell, but I really don't want to die..."
Ironically, the Lord he prayed to would not save him; after all, he was a murderous demon who deserved to go to hell.
Zhang Jie and James walked out, supporting each other. Razor Woman walked directly towards the somewhat neurotic, mumbling member of the hunting squad.
Razor Woman had already reached him, but he was still muttering, his hands trembling as he made the sign of the cross over his chest.
He had completely lost all will to resist. After all, four of his teammates had died violently before his eyes, and in such a manner. Anyone would have a mental breakdown.
Coupled with the previous suppression by the three powerhouses—Zhang Jie, James, and Razor Woman—watching his teammates die one by one before him, this was a loss the hunting squad had never experienced since its inception.
It could be said that after tonight's battle, the hunting squad's name would be directly removed.
It could be attributed to underestimating the enemy, or perhaps arrogance, that led them to their deaths.
Although they were the lowest-ranked squad in the KH Alliance, their tactical prowess, while not top-tier, was not bad. Yet, the hunting squad met such an abrupt end. Even though they had heightened their vigilance against these assassins, who would have thought there would be a sniper outside?
Razor Woman stepped forward and swiftly slit the throat of the sole surviving member of the hunting squad.
Thus, the hunting squad met its complete end.
Looking at the man convulsing, blood gushing from his throat, Razor Woman's eyes showed no emotion. She turned and walked towards Zhang Jie and James.
Bang!
However, Zhang Jie still put a bullet in his head, preventing a legendary 'King of Resilience' from being reborn.
"All threats have been eliminated. Now it's time to settle some old scores."
James's words were as steady as ever, though he looked a bit disheveled now.
"Damn it, don't look at me like that. I'm injured right now."
Seeing the way Zhang Jie and Razor Woman looked at him, he suddenly felt a little strange.
Well, his suit had indeed been ruined, making him look like a homeless man.
Next time, it definitely won't happen!
I hate Blackthorn Castle.
The three walked towards the center of the castle. The entire castle was silent; all the servants were gone.
Along the way, the battlefield was strewn with debris.
Bodies, blood, spent casings.
Intertwined, they formed a bizarre picture as the three walked silently forward.
As they walked, Zhang Jie suddenly broke the silence.
"Hey, how much do you think we'll get paid after this mission?"
That one sentence instantly shattered the solemn atmosphere. James's mouth twitched, and he looked at Zhang Jie speechless.
"Damn it! How broke are you?"
"As you can see, I'm really broke. I haven't even paid off my rent yet."
?
No, you're such a fierce assassin, and you don't even own a house, you have to rent?
James was utterly convinced.
Razor Woman, meanwhile, looked at Zhang Jie, then at James, a faint smile playing on her lips.
The stark contrast made her feel as if she wasn't in a bloody battleground. However, when she remembered her two sisters lost here, her smile vanished.
In fact, ever since they arrived at Blackthorn Castle, they had been fighting—a brutal and relentless battle, leaving them almost no time to think about anything else.
Only now did their thoughts begin to spread out a little.
"So, what exactly is this KH Alliance?"
Zhang Jie once again raised his question.
After all, James's previous introduction had been too brief.
James shook his head. "The intelligence I have is limited to that. We are still investigating the rest."
But Zhang Jie didn't quite agree. After all, as MI6, its intelligence agency was very powerful. How could it not know about the KH Alliance?
Then there was only one answer: someone within the KH Alliance held a high position in MI6, or perhaps his high position prevented MI6 from releasing information about the KH Alliance.
Thinking this way, things seemed much more reasonable.
A group of high-ranking, incompetent individuals, to alleviate their boredom, formed a so-called alliance, fulfilling or venting their inner desires through various perverse tastes.
Like the Seven Deadly Sins or Solomon?
A group yearning for greater power but unable to attain it, converting that desire into venting their inner urges, or carnal desires, or perverse habits.
Of course, Zhang Jie had no intention of voicing this answer; it was enough for him to know.
After all, the other two were not as foolish as he imagined. As a senior MI6 agent, James naturally had his own intelligence sources, and he had clearly considered a similar direction.
His changing expression showed it; he was very solemn at the moment. He wondered what it would be like if these guys were lurking in MI6—the thought alone was chilling.
And tonight's battle was merely one of their gatherings, yet it resulted in such terrifying consequences.
If their desires were to radiate outward, what kind of results would that cause? A terrorist organization, or a cult?
Razor Woman's thoughts, however, were much simpler. After all, for the Black Rose assassin organization, the risks they had to bear were not that great; to the organization, it was merely the loss of a few assassins.
But what about Razor Woman? She had lost her sisters, with whom she had lived day in and day out. Even if assassins are said to be emotionless, are they truly without feelings?
Thinking of this, the eyes of all three became sharp. That guy named Oriska had to die!
Even if he held a high position, what of it?
How could such a scourge, such a cancer, be allowed to continue?
When the three arrived at the central hall of the castle, the door was already open, and two servants stood inside.
Only a few scattered screens remained, with the outer surveillance still displaying footage. All other screens had lost their signal.
When the two servants saw the three of them approach, they immediately drew two katanas from a nearby rack.
"Oh, ho? Looks like we're about to have a samurai duel?"
Zhang Jie whistled, "But it doesn't seem fair for you two to take on us three injured people, does it?"
The sword-wielding servants said nothing and charged directly!
Only... Zhang Jie and James raised their guns simultaneously.
Da da da da da da...!
Click!
Click!
Two crisp sounds rang out as both HK416s locked open on an empty magazine.
The two servants opposite them were riddled with bullets, and the large screen behind them shattered along with them.
"My lords, times have changed. Within seven steps, a gun is fast and accurate!"
Zhang Jie complained in Chinese.
Then Zhang Jie and James exchanged glances and laughed.
It seemed James had no trouble with Chinese.
Only Razor Woman looked bewildered, "What are you two saying?"
"How come I don't understand a single word?"
"What?!"
