Chapter 121 - Chapter 121 Trouble

On the late-night road, a yellow taxi sped past, kicking up a spray of water. At this point, it was less than 20km from Narita Airport.

Looking at the silver briefcase in his hand, Zhang Jie scratched his head. After some thought, he decided to open it and take a look, because the item was indeed too conspicuous.

Pressing the switches on both sides, the briefcase opened. Embedded in the sponge in the middle of the case was something resembling a chip, and next to it was a USB drive.

Drip!

A very faint sound rang out.

Zhang Jie saw this setup and knew that it likely contained some secret information, so he began to check other parts inside the box.

Sure enough, a tracker was found on it, and the tracker had already started to flash.

"Fuck!"

This was a big problem. He had opened the box, and the tracker had started working, which meant others could track him.

This was an aluminum briefcase, which meant that if the box was closed, the signal would be blocked.

Without a word, Zhang Jie immediately closed the briefcase again. "This is big trouble now!"

The box being opened meant that the signal had already been sent out. His location information for this segment had been received by the people behind the scenes, so his journey to Narita Airport would likely no longer be safe.

"Damn it, you and your itchy hands!"

He should have thought of it earlier; such an important item couldn't possibly lack protective measures. But then another problem arose: the item he was carrying couldn't possibly get on a plane, it was too big and too conspicuous.

So, the final outcome would always involve opening this box. After thinking about it, Zhang Jie opened the box once again, took out the chip and the USB drive, put them in his jacket pocket, then rolled down the window and threw the silver briefcase out.

Nakamura Yuichi watched Zhang Jie throw the briefcase out. He had wanted to say something, but with the language barrier, he thought about it and decided against it.

It wasn't his business; he just needed to keep driving. After throwing the box, Zhang Jie took out the chip and the USB drive again, placing them in his tactical vest, just in case they were accidentally broken, which would be quite a problem.

Then, Zhang Jie took out his phone, turned it on, and dialed a number.

Beep—

The phone rang, and after a few seconds, it connected. A lazy voice came from the other end.

"Little brother~ Did you finally remember to call your big sister?"

Veronica's lazy voice came from the other end, but Zhang Jie wasn't in the mood to banter with her.

"I got what you wanted. I threw the box away."

As soon as he spoke, the tone on the other end instantly became serious. Veronica immediately found an isolated place and asked sternly.

"What happened?"

"Your contact arranged a car for me, and I drove that car to deliver the goods. But the goods happened to be in my car. I encountered a police blockade midway. I followed the message sent to me and left by boat, but I felt something was wrong, so I left on my own again."

In a few sentences, he explained the whole story, but Veronica frowned.

"Message?"

"Where's the item?"

With two questions asked consecutively, Zhang Jie also frowned.

From her tone, it was clear she didn't know about the message.

"I've already taken the item out. There's a tracker on the box, I couldn't keep carrying it," Zhang Jie replied.

At this moment, Veronica's brows furrowed deeply. She didn't know anyone had sent Zhang Jie a message. She had only called Suoluo and asked Suoluo to make the arrangements. Could someone have betrayed her?

"Where are you now?"

Facing Veronica's question, Zhang Jie did not answer.

Hearing the silence from the other end, Veronica realized she had been rash. So, after some thought, she said, "Your mission needs to be changed slightly. Besides bringing the item to Seoul, you also need to help me kill someone."

Zhang Jie raised an eyebrow.

Veronica continued, "From now on, you just need to follow my instructions."

At this point, Zhang Jie slowly said, "Kill someone? That's outside the mission. It'll cost extra."

"No problem, kill him, send me a photo, 200,000 usd!"

Veronica on the other end agreed without hesitation. It seemed this matter had made her realize the seriousness of the problem.

Zhang Jie also knew that his smooth journey was orchestrated by someone, and he hoped Han was not involved.

This was Zhang Jie's last thought.

"You need to be careful from now on. Your whereabouts have been completely exposed. Although you threw away the tracker, it can still determine your general location. From now on, you're on your own."

After Veronica gave this instruction, she hung up the phone.

Zhang Jie felt the passport and money in his suit, and silently turned off his phone.

Knowing his phone number was not difficult, because when Veronica and the other person discussed it, that guy already knew his number.

Clearly, he had been planning from the beginning, and this item was also something he wanted to get, but he didn't expect Zhang Jie to be so cautious and discover the trick.

But none of that mattered now. What was important was how he could leave Japan and escape. If the other party was connected to the yacht that was supposed to meet him, then he would definitely face pursuit from both the Japanese underworld and law enforcement.

"This is troublesome!"

Zhang Jie touched the glock 17 under his armpit, calming himself slightly. The current situation could only be met head-on, and he hoped he would be lucky.

Nakamura Yuichi, after hearing the phone call from the back, didn't care, as he didn't understand it anyway.

His current mission was to quickly get the young man in the back to Narita Airport, but there was one thing he hadn't told Zhang Jie.

Although Narita Airport has many international flights, red-eye flights are extremely rare at this time of night. Heaven knows if there's a red-eye flight today.

After thinking about it, he decided it would be better to tell Zhang Jie first. If he delayed the young man's journey, that would be a sin, especially since the tip was so generous.

Thinking of this, he took out his phone and said something.

"Narita Airport has many international flights, but red-eye flights in the early morning depend on luck, there might not be any, I can't guarantee it."

Nakamura Yuichi was very honest, but Zhang Jie didn't pay much attention to this; it was always a matter of luck.

"It's okay, just get me to Narita Airport as soon as possible. I'll figure out the rest."

But the current problem was, could he still go to Narita Airport?

The briefcase's tracker had already exposed its location, and his phone might have also exposed his location.

And the direction he was currently heading was Narita Airport. If he was lucky, he might arrive early, but the problem was, wouldn't the other party send people to block him at Narita Airport in advance?

Watching the rain stream backward on the taxi, the scenery outside the window was a blur, with only his own vague face reflected in the car window.
